Nicci reacted to TheMaxRebo in Quick Empire Supper Club Review - do it!
so prior to this question, I hadn't even considered this, but thinking about it, I really don't think it would work logistically to dance during the event.

There really isn't room and the food and cocktails are coming out at a pretty regular clip, and many, many servers moving around, etc.

They didn't ever explicitly say you cannot dance but also didn't invite it and didn't see anyone try. The vibe they are going for is "speakeasy" and they "lock" the doors and you have to be escorted by someone to a back "secret" door to get to a bathroom, so I think it really is more about the food and cocktails and the music to enhance that vs a dancing situation.

Probably not response you were hoping for. There is a separate Jazz club in Central Park and still Baleros which has room for dancing, just don't think this is the venue for it, at least based on our experience

When you ride the zip line you are driven from the Labadee compound to the mountain side where the zip starts.  You are briefly outside the fence of the compound on the bus ride to the zip line start area.
The compound has a couple of layers between guests areas and the outside world.

There is a staging area with fuel and other supplies.

Then the buffer ends at the security office and gate.  This is where day workers would enter the compound, going through security.

Once beyond the gate you are in the true Haiti.

The road to the zip line goes up the mountain where it connects to a main road that would go off towards the rest of Haiti.

    The main road.

The top of the coaster ride next to the zip line start is also fenced off.

I’m feeling quite confused about if you’re supposed to go to the 7:00 show if you’re at the 7:45 seating or the 9:15 show.  Neither seems quite right!  Late to dinner or super rushed to get to show by 9:00 to meet the 15 minutes before requirement.  Unless dinners really just take an hour now…

I completely understand where this woman was coming from. As a Platinum member in CA Society, I will often explore staff-only areas, take food off other passengers’ plates, and take over giving lessons on the iFly and Flowrider. If anyone ever questions me, I just point to the Platinum pin I constantly wear, even in the shower, and that quiets them down pretty quickly.

The best parts of wearing the Pinnacle pin are not the published benefits.  Crew deal with an ever changing guest population one cruise to the next.  On a typical cruise roughly half of the guest population has never cruised Royal before.  Crew are constantly dealing with newbies who don't know how anything works on board.
When crew see a Pinnacle pin they instantly know that guest has been around... a lot.  They know they don't have to explain things like to a newbie.  It's not the kiss ass relationship some people assume.  Crew instantly let their guard down and it's like greeting an old friend or fellow crew member.  It's an ice breaker.
It is said that the Pinnacle pin opens doors.  That's not literal, as in crew holding a door open, but a metaphor.  It does make onboard life easier in subtle ways.
It starts walking to the terminal doors where the terminal contractors see a Pinnacle pin and instantly know that you know the routine.  If there is a suite and Pinnacle queue they are already welcoming you without having to show a set sail pass.
When I didn't wear my Pinnacle pin boarding and I've had to show my Set Sail pass to enter the right queue I've had terminal contractors suggest that I wear the pin next time.  It's easier on them too since they know instantly you are in the right place.  Having boarded many cruises I have learned it makes life easier in the boarding process so why wouldn't someone wear it?  Why make it harder than it has to be?  When it's time to start boarding and they call Suites and Pinnacle the terminal folks that are gatekeepers looking for eligible guests for that moment in time can instantly see you are Pinnacle.  No need to examine your papers, keep the line moving.  It's just easier.  Why make it harder?

Will never happen in my lifetime, but the frivolous lawsuits could be ended with one simple change; loser pays the other side's legal fees. Not the current system where the absolved party has to go through a bunch of legal caca raca for a judge's ruling ordering payment. The trial attorneys will fight to the death to keep things status quo.

With only 38 person capacity and UDP having to wait until they are on the ship to make a reservation there is a pretty good chance no one actually gets the $130 price.  I like this restaurant concept - over priced, yes - but I’ll only do it once.

Supper Club has shown up in CP for me now.  Does appear to be no discount for Star Class.  Also formal attire is required.  Should be a fun night, but I do think they are sticking it to Star Class, I thought it included UDP, so why not the same benefits as UDP?  Don't answer, I know the answer to all of my questions is "money"

Exactly. Everyone has the opportunity to get an early time and I really wish Royal would enforce times at all ports and be consistent.  If more people had to queue outside and wait for their time, maybe people would start showing up at the assigned time and the whole process could be smooth for everyone all the time.
Of course, I’m a rule follower and will arrive during my window, but  I’ve also been able to get early times by being online when they open the check in window.

That seems an absolute no brainier... The immersive Africa is a once in a lifetime type of cruise/ports.
The other one hits a lot of Greek isles that are you could find on a ton of cruises every year. Pls it has you at sea for a month with only a couple days of stops.

I don't think these people went on a world cruise to just be on the ship for a month cruising.

I think the takeaway is this influencer tried to claim that only Pinnacles were allowed outside to watch something that they'd never be able to see in the first place due to being many thousands of miles away. So a double whammy of influencer absurdity.

We are on the Ultimate World Cruise right now. Just heading back to Ushuaia (after visiting a Penguin Rookery). I will post something more substantial and detailed later, but the short course is:
1).  No drama … the experienced cruisers already figured this out. Actually, the cruise so far has been extremely relaxing.  Although we have been a little bit too busy.

2). Thé entertainment overall has been better than “normal” cruises (some of it excellent … rare for a Radiance class ship). The food has been hit and miss (as usual) … however, we did have the best MDR dish in over 30 cruises a few nights ago.

3).  The staff is in over perform mode. They are doing a phenomenal job.

4).  1,600 on this segment is well below capacity. 700+ Diamond and above C&A members.  1,600 only should bring up some questions.

5).  Tons of dancing opportunities … only once did we have to elbow our way around the dance floor 😉

I will start a start a separate thread when we get back on board.

If I was Royal I'd look over if any of these tik tokers causing drama broke any rules and if so I'd give them exclusive opportunity to do the remaining tik tok's from the brig. They can tik tok how they've been given access to part of the ship that pinnacle members don't

one of my favorites was the Tik Tok poster who, on 2 different occasions posted the following reports.

    1. Pinnacle members were treated to an evening viewing the Northern lights while all other passengers were not permitted on the outside decks (mind you this was in the fort week and the ship was off the eastern coast of Brazil, south of the equator)

    1. Pinnacle members were "given" upgraded accommodations that other cruises were not permitted to book.  The "reporter" used photos of an Oasis class CL suite photo for the Pinnacles and a standard inside room stock photograph for the others.

Let us not forget all the drunken swingers and nightly orgies on board as reported by many......................

The complaints I've seen on line are minor gripes meant to create drama. I mean really, is it surprising that an excursion got canceled? Is it really a crisis to all of humanity?
I've had some hot tub discussions with new sailors on my current cruise though. They really don't understand how anyone would think a world cruise would or could work. They were shocked when I pointed out that world cruising may be new to Royal,  but it has been a thing since the 1970s. People who go on these things are very experienced cruisers and they know what they are getting into. I  seriously doubt any of the regular customers are surprised or unhappy.

It's a small group of tik tokers drumming up drama and trying to put negative spins on everything. I'm following quite a few people on reddit and IG and they've had nothing but glowing reviews about the whole trip so far

So...I am not sure if this has been discussed, but I am absolutely floored by the discourse I'm seeing about the World Cruise. I know a lot of people aren't into cruising so much that they look things up or watch videos about it, but man....I've seen people complain about classism because Pinnacle members get exclusive parties and things. I've seen someone complain about excursions being cancelled because they really wanted to see penguins. Like...yeah, that happens. And it's Antarctica. If it's too dangerous to tender, they can't go. I think the main problem is...there are a ton of young influencers on this cruise (I really didn't expect that, honestly) and they are constantly going on TikTok about it. It makes it seem like the World Cruise is out of control bad or something. I mean, I saw like a week of headlines when the ship flooded due to stormy weather, but they were all worded like "World Cruise Floods" without any caveat in the headline that there was a logical reason for it. They all seemed to imply there was an issue which caused the flooding by omitting that. I've actually not seen much coverage of positive experiences on the ship. I know, this is pretty common for most media to be anti-cruise, but still...
