  1. I wouldn't cruise without a passport. If there is an emergency and you need to fly home it's essential. And you're not going to leave your kids behind and fly home, so get them one too!
  2. On some cruise lines (I'm thinking of Disney here) they have the 1820 club where people of that age can hang out. I believe NCL has that option too. One option is to join the FB group for that particular cruise and see if other people that age are going. Or have your daughter look on her own apps (whatever the kids are using these days) and I'm sure there will be people.
  3. No, nor have they said they will require vaccinations.
  4. I'm sorry that happened to you, but Royal Caribbean's terms and conditions state that they are allowed to do that, and are not required to provide compensation at all. Hopefully the cruise will not have any other changes for you. Advanced or Delayed Sailings and Changes in Itinerary In the event of strikes, lockouts, riots, weather conditions or mechanical difficulties, or for any other reason whatsoever, Royal Caribbean Int’l may at any time and without prior notice, cancel, advance, postpone or deviate from any scheduled sailing or port of call and may, but is not obliged to, substitute another ship or port of call, and shall not be liable for any loss whatsoever to guests by reason of such cancellation, advancement, postponement, deviation or substitution. Royal Caribbean Int’l shall not be responsible for any failure to adhere to the arrival and departure times published in this brochure for any of its ports of call. While every effort will be made to adhere to the specifics shown for a cruise/Cruisetour, circumstances may necessitate changes or deviations therefrom. All schedules, itinerary destinations, hours of arrival and departure, hotel and/or conveyances, and other aspects of cruisetour programs are subject to change without prior notice. Neither Royal Caribbean International nor any affiliated party shall be required to refund any portion of fare or other charges or make any compensation under these circumstances.
  5. Deposit requirements vary based on length of cruise and number of guests per stateroom. Generally, deposit guidelines for double occupancy staterooms are $200 per stateroom for 1 to 5 night cruises, $500 per stateroom for 6 to 9 night cruises and $900 per stateroom for 10 night or longer cruises. Straight from the source-https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/deposit-requirements Notice it says per stateroom above but also double occupancy. A family of 4 pays a $1000 deposit on a 7 night cruise.
  6. Agreed. If they aren't going to sail I'd rather not deal with FCC ?
  7. I don't know what that area is but it looks awesome! I'd be ok with it on the other ships too. I agree with @twangster that the flowriders, while awesome, take up a lot of space and are not used all day and night so I like the idea of one.
  8. Yep, I have been on the phone many hours for many clients. This is part of what we do.
  9. It's possible that there are glitches and cruises get canceled. However they are fairly easy to reinstate. I have not had a cruise canceled for a client because of a mishap in FCC, but I have seen it that an entire ship gets canceled or some other type of glitch. Royal Caribbean is pretty good about fixing it quickly.
  10. This can be done- you have to get a letter from the existing agency that you'd like to transfer the booking to another agency. If that agency charges a cancellation fee that's up to you if you want to pay it. You don't have to have a "valid reason"- any reason is fine. If you want to reach out to one of us we can help, but it's going to depend on the other agency, and if they will indeed release it.
  11. Hi! I'll answer all of your questions on behalf of all MEI agents- any one of us is happy to help! Yes, we check for better deals. We have an alert system that notifies us of any price changes to your cruise and we will apply that if it's better. Plus, as @Matt said we frequently talk to one another. I try to get back to you within an hour, but on busy days or if it's overnight (or a complicated question) it might take a little longer. Pretty knowledgeable with ports of call and embarkation ports- everything is customizable but I know of great hotels for each budget in the major embarkation cities, as well as what there is to do in most common places such as the Caribbean, cruise ports in Europe, and Alaska. We pay RCCL directly, all charges show up on your credit card from RCCL, NOT us. I just do it on your behalf.
  12. Hi Patt, There are a lot of advantages! We will always offer the same price Royal Caribbean does, with a few exceptions. The benefit to booking with us is that you have an advocate in your corner to help you plan your trip. This means: - You have someone to continue to look for and apply discounts should any be released (which is very often with RCCL), so that you do not have to spend time doing the same, or potentially missing a better offer. - You have someone to help you navigate the Cruise Planner program. - You have someone to help you make your dining reservations if you'd like. - You have an expert in all things cruising and travel to help you plan the best vacation you can. - You have someone you can come to directly to ask questions to instead of spending time looking around on the internet for your answers. - You have someone to turn to should something go wrong while you are traveling. And the best part is, we provide all of this for FREE to you. You get our concierge level service at no extra charge. The difference when you book with me is the difference between information and expertise. Anyone can look up information on the internet. When booking your trip with me you know you have an expert in your corner that can help tailor your trip to your desires and make sure you see everything you want to do!
  13. If you have a refundable option you can take a refund now. If on your confirmation it says NRD then it's a non-refundable deposit, and you'll have to wait for Royal Caribbean to cancel.
  14. Was it booked with a non-refundable deposit? If so then probably not.
  15. Right- Jones Act is merchandising and PVSA is people. Like Soylent Green.
  16. I believe they are still waiting to see if there will be a temporary moratorium on the Jones Act/PVSA. I really do hope they will allow a more lenient L&S because Alaska 2022 is getting full.
  17. Also a billion times better for the environment. Plastic bottles are terrible.
  18. Hi Jason, there are a lot of factors in choosing a hotel at Walt Disney World, such as on-site or off-site, distance to the parks, your party size, etc. I would suggest using a travel agent of course in all aspects of planning, Disney is not just a "get up and go to the parks" kind of thing anymore, and for the time being at least, you'll need theme park reservations to even get in.
  19. Alaska is more of a port-intensive cruise than a ship-intensive. Because you'll be in port more than a Caribbean vacation I'd focus on itinerary first, ship second. One way vs. round trip, etc. If you'd like to add a land portion before or after your cruise you'll want a one way cruise.
  20. And commission, and balance due, and you name it.
  21. This is all excellent news! And FCCs are applied as payments now, which before it came off the cruise fare. Caused all sorts of problems.
  22. You want to look for a travel agency who does not charge your credit card, but does all payments through the supplier such as Royal Caribbean. So when I charge a client's card, it shows up as a Royal Caribbean charge. I'm sorry that happened to you.
  23. Yes your TA can change your promo to kids sail free later if it is a better deal (it's not always a better deal).
