I have wondered if they viewed their recent sales as a way of getting a short-term loan from their customers.  I hope they are not doing this, but one begins to wonder after a bit.....

Problem is there may very well never be a vaccine and even if there is it may not "eliminate the problem" ... common cold has been around a while - no vaccine ... flu has been around a while, there is a vaccine but we still get flu outbreaks and even people who get the vaccine can get the flue if they get the wrong strain ... so saying its fair to wait on a vaccine is just a way of kicking the can down the road indefinitely.

I agree 110% with that last sentence especially!

Or maybe they want to not have to give half a month of cruise refunds and also to spread out the workload for their staff.....I think it is just spreading it out at this point unless RCI gives us a real plan.

Seems to me CLIA and the rest of the industry needs to have some better lobbyists and PACs.

CDC doesn't have enough information to decide when sailing would resume.  It's  quite clear CDC doesn't want to work with the cruise lines.  They had more than enough time to work with cruise lines to create prorocols to deal with covid-19.  

I hope they start on the 15th. I've got one scheduled on Sep 18...

And I am beginning to wonder when, under the unwritten rules of modern doublespeak, that "Voluntary" became a euphemism for "Forced by some irrelevant bureaucrats" ??

The refund situation is very aggravating at this point.  I am buying nothing else through the cruise planner until they get their refund act together.

The goal just keeps on moving...My family is on the 9/25/2020 Enchantment of the Seas sailing out of Galveston, TX.  We would be the second cruise after this new start date.  I don't know how much I want to be a test subject.  I think the rules for being on the ship will determine things for my family.

Geez...you'd think they could get the easy stuff right !!!
I would take the easy way out on this one and just file a CC dispute.  You KNOW you will win this one and it's a lot easier than trying to screw around with their inept CS team.
Take pix of the cancellation notification and send it all in as part of the dispute.

Could RCL be actually putting CP items on sale hoping for not only new sales, but maybe as a bait and switch?  That means they are sort of doubling up on those loyal to royal...

I am wondering if anyone else is having Cruise Planner problems?  I searched and didn't find any similar issues.  On May 22nd I did a cancel and re-purchase (as recommended by @Matt ) on a 3N Dining package for our November Harmony cruise.  It should have saved me $32, but to this point (it will be a month on Monday) it has cost me $198 dollars extra.  Essentially, RCL charged me for the new purchase but never gave me a refund for my cancellation.  I made the transaction with my RCL Credit Card.  This is really starting to piss me off.  I called two weeks ago and waited about 45 minutes to talk to someone who could only say that I have to wait because RCL is busy.  I have the confirmation emails right in front of me.  I received them 4 minutes apart - first the cancelation and then purchase.  Convenient how they can instantly charge me, but take over a month to process my refund.  Anyone else?

Just keeps going....I fully expect/wont be surprised it will be extended to the end of the year......especially  seeing as some  experts are saying a 2nd wave will prob come this fall and it could be worse.
I dont buy into it or care to be honest about covid…..but I feel like there will be a lot more delays and cancellations to come which could bankrupt the cruise industry......among others of course

Supposedly the Cruise Line International Association agreed to suspend sailings until September 15. Anyone have any confirmation on this? I see carnival, NCL, and royal stocks just dropped so maybe this is true.

I hope they push the envelope and are the pack leader and start up first out of the big three.  This will probably not happen; but, hey, hope can spring up in the most unlikely places....
