I believe it depends on which country/countries waters you are in. @WAAAYTOOO @twangster, correct me if I'm wrong.

Both great suggestions. Thanks very much! ??

You could do that.  I am not sure about the refund part as I have not come across that particular situation but money can be applied to an onboard account once on board.  An alternative would to get them a gift certificate.  My sister did this for me once back in 2019.  She was not sailing with us but she knew that all I really wanted (other than to cruise) was a cabana.  So a few months prior to the sailing, she called Royal and purchased a gift certificate for me to use towards the cabana.  She didn't even have my reservation number, they were able to look it up with the information that she could provide.  Once onboard, that money was already applied to my on board account.

Putting down cash at Guest Services is probably your easiest path.
Another option is to inform them that you intend to pay a portion of their onboard spending and then pay the amount they use or your intended maximum at Guest Services a couple days prior to the end of the cruise (DO NOT wait until the last night as you'll waste time in line that can be better used enjoying the final night of the cruise).
  5. Thanks

I may get shot down for this but I am indifferent - I plan to be too busy enjoying everything that she has to offer on board to worry too much about what she looks like from the land ?

Food was great, service was pristine, but the lettering was horrible, it ruined my pre cruise photos, 1 star, won't sail again

Please leave the political discussion out of this.  This thread is about RC requiring crew to get the vaccine.
I don't care how funny you think your joke about any politician is, it has no place here.
Most of you are well aware of this rule, and the fact someone else posts it doesnt give you carte blanche to respond back.  Report it and the mods will deal with it.
This is not the forum for political discussion. Nor is it the place to discuss alternative theories on how vaccines "work".
If your post doesn't include something about cruising, it doesn't belong here.
I know some of you are reading this and thinking "Can't we have civil discussions?" or "Why are you censoring us?" or "Why does @Lovetocruise2002start her live blogs so darn early?"
The reality is you will convince no one that you're right and they are wrong. All it does it antagonize everyone, make some people truly angry, and lead to insults, name calling, and pages of arguments that are meaningless.
Consider this the final warning on the political discussion.

I don't have a problem with people saying it's their right to not have the vaccine but a private company then has the right to allow who they want on their ship. It's your right to wear sneakers out on a Saturday night but if those bouncers say no, there's no way you are getting into the club.

Although if looking foolish on here leads to progress in facilitating international travel when the time is right, then I'll happily take one for the team! ?

Again I agree, although I shudder to think how long it would take the countries of the world to reach consensus on what it should look like and how it will work!

Thank you to everyone for your replies.  I now see lots of advantages to transferring our booking to a travel agent.  Also, there are so many positive comments about MEI agents (both this and other topics) that I will contact them to help me.  Thanks again

    Welcome to the boards Patt!
I too am an advocate of MEI (we are also looked after by @michelle).
I also used to book everything direct with RCCL (I am in the UK and thought at the time that it was the only option available) but, similar to @FionaMGI coincidentally made the switch to MEI not long before the world entered its current crazy phase.
It has been comforting to know that Michelle is in our corner throughout the rounds of cancellations, new bookings, further cancellations, etc, and all the ancillary activities that go with them (for example Michelle recently researched the visa requirements for a total of 10 islands/destinations that we hope to visit on 2021/22 sailings, which saved me a whole heap of time).
I don't know where you are based, but in short if you are willing/able to book in USD then I would recommend MEI all the way.
