Ability to successfully pinch a hole for a lanyard is dependent on the ship you are on. Newer ships have RFID cards that can’t be easily punched, older (Freedom class and before)can be punched with no concern.

When they pull up your cabin number on the computer…your photo comes up also. So, unless your an Evil Twin, it should be okay.😂

On my last two cruises we just asked guest services to do the punching.

The last  2 cruises I took this year I rarely needed my SeaPass card.  They just asked for my cabin number.  Only needed it mostly to enter cabin.  But I always carry it.  I carry a small purse most of the time.  Or I put it in pocket.   (or more often in my bra!)

I've switched back and forth between a clear vinyl cardholder hung from a lanyard, and the card itself with a hole punched in the corner still hung from a lanyard.
Knowing the cards now have some digital circuitry internally, I asked at guest services on Odyssey last month if there was anywhere on the card where I could safely punch a hole.  The gal showed me where it was safe to punch, we did so, but then the card no longer would open my cabin door.  Went back immediately to guest services, and a different employee said they could no longer be punched anywhere.🥴

If you lose things out of your pockets like I do, you'd need a lanyard.  😀  Many of my shorts have zippers on the pockets.  When I pull stuff out of my pockets, everything else seems to follow especially bills.
    But, I hear ya.

I keep mine in my front pocket and have never had an issue.  My swimsuit has a pocket and I take it into the pool without issue.  My wife keeps hers in whatever bag she is carrying.
Nothing wrong with lanyards, but they are definitely not necessary.

We've always used pouches to put the card in and attach that to a retracting spring string to the lanyard.  I've heard a couple of thing about holes in the card.  1.  You can't put a hole in it because of the electronics (RFID) and 2.  If you go to the Customer Service desk, they will punch a hole in it.
    I report, you decide.
We're using these on our next cruise in 32 days.  Can't vouch for them.  Amazon has many different kinds available.  I liked these because the backing is hard plastic and it comes with the retractable string:

It's just a plastic card like a hotel key card. Most people either keep it in their pockets or in a lanyard with a pocket. But you can absolutely punch a hole in it if you'd rather do it that way. You can go to guest services and ask them for a hole punch.

Oh I agree. I'm not much into energy drinks, but Red Bull would be bottom of the barrel for me if I was going to drink one.

We are total cruise newbies, sailing southbound from Seward to Vancouver, June 10 on Radiance of the Seas.  On day five at Icy Straight Point our shore excursion of the Chichagof  Rainforest Hike was sadly, cancelled. We were thinking about doing the  Whales, Wildlife & Brown Bear Search instead.  The term 'catamaran' is the sticking point and a rather loose term. Does anyone know if this is an open speed boat or a larger boat where we would be out of the wind?   I called once about this and the rep was rather vague, saying it was 'probably' open because it called for water resistant jackets.....
Any help is appreciated!  Even though we are traveling in a large family group, this has been a steep learning curve for us. First time fliers and first time cruisers!

As for energy drinks, I believe the bars will have Red Bull if you're into that brand.

If they do not have it at a particular bar, and it is one you frequently go to, a few bucks and you will always have it.  When I was on Vision of the seas they did not stock it in the Solarium, a few bucks to the bartender and for 12 days there was Powerade and Vitamin water there for me.
Also, when you are getting off the ship for excursions they usually have a station set up as you are leaving the ship where you can pick up bottles of Powerade and water as you are getting off.  Not sure if every port offered it but I mostly remember it being there.

Thank you for your effort.  Now the question is whether Radiance has the Freestyle machines.  It seems to me that I read that not every ship has them yet.  I guess I'll find out in a month....  (by the way a local fast food place has a Freestyle machine and it doesn't have the Powerade option.  I guess that varies, too.... I'll carry some of my electrolyte powder with me... Can't even have a glass of wine without insuring I have enough!!! )

You can get powerade bottles at the ship's respective prominade cafe and sometimes at the pool bars.

I'm on the Coke Freestyle website now (https://www.coca-colafreestyle.com/choices/?filter1=all drinks) and they have a screen which I think replicates the machine's screen. On the website it does list Powerade Zero in eight flavors, so it's an option on the machine. I have no idea though if RC stocks every option though. From what I've heard, the machines works by adding various ingredients together to make the flavor the customer likes, and I heard that there is a separate sugar/corn syrup packet that could or couldn't dispense depending on what the customer chooses. Since there is also regular Powerade in the same flavors, the machine might dispense the Powerade syrup/powder/whatever plus the sugar for regular Powerade and without it for the Powerade Zero. I think that's how all the various zero sugar options work. Then again, I'm only an occasional Powerade/Gatorade drinker and I don't drink Coke or any other soft drinks/sodas so I might not be the best source of info.
Also, I see Vitamin Water as an option if that's also something you drink.

Thank you.  I generally do the same since I spend a lot of time hiking / on pilgrimage.  I had never heard whether or not the commercial things are available on RCL.  Just an aside, I generally take along Ultima Replenisher (lemonade / 0 Kcal)

I bring Liquid IV packets on the ship to mix with bottle water when I cruise/travel. They are akin to pedialyte powder and are easier to carry.  Costco has bags Of 30 packets for cheap

I believe the Coke Freestyle machines have various Powerade flavors available, which you will have access to with the drink package.

Taste is subjective and quality can vary by sailing of course, but we've always enjoyed our lobster tails on every cruise to date. We always make it a point to attend the last formal evening in the MDR just for the lobster tails. Naturally, growing up and living on Long Island I have been all over New England. I'm certainly not going to compare it to a fresh Maine lobster just out of a tank, etc., but we definitely find the Caribbean lobster to be very tasty and consistent with Royal. I actually ate 6 tails last month on Odyssey! 😂
The pics are from our last 3 cruises... presentation and quality has been very consistent in the MDR. Now I'm craving lobster!

I was able to do a complete check in online, too.  I was regularly reminded to get my mobile application (which I've had on my phone for months), too.  Sooner or later it will mystically appear, I'm sure!
ATTENTION RADIANCE FOLKS!   (I shouldn't yell!)  While writing the above I thought I might check my app before I posted..  And... Yep, there is the Radiance on the RCL application!!
    Matt is clairvoyant...  😇

Yes, they are related. Check-in isn't open until the ship goes live in the app. The ships that haven't been back in service had their check-ins delayed until closer to the first sail date for the ship.
