KBrad got a reaction from jbrinkm in No health survey in kids app check in
Yes, thank you. I was able to do it on my app. So much for teaching my teens to be self sufficient:)

KBrad reacted to Zacharius in First day. When does the drinks package start?
It's legally required to be the first thing you do upon entry to the ship, so make sure you don't break the law and wait for your first sip.

My 19 year old could not do the muster drill. This was her message.

KBrad reacted to ScottD in Coco Cay -snorkeling spots
The map itself is a little outdated, but the plane wreck is still there...on the left side of the map you'll see the sunken plane that is there for snorkeling...apparently its out a bit, so you may need a vest or be a good swimmer.

You can't prepay gratuities with the OBC.
However, whatever you don't spend in the Cruise Planner pre-cruise will transfer over as a credit to your onboard account once you are on the ship.
Gratuities get charged against this same account daily when you are sailing if you do not prepay. The OBC credit will offset these daily charges. The on-board system doesn't treat this OBC any different from an OBC you got from a promo or from your travel agent.

KBrad reacted to dr martini in Vintages on Oasis included in UDP?
i had this same question for freedom, although I don't see any food on the menu in the app so maybe they don't serve anything at all?

We did a Caymus tasting in Vintages on Allure last year that was AMAZING! We paid extra for it but they did serve some food with it - charcuterie-type things which was a nice bonus! I don't remember seeing if they had a regular food menu but I was more interested in the wine. LOL.

KBrad reacted to mistertomatohead in A courtesy reservation will be made for Day 1????
They appear to hold reservations until sailing so don't worry if you see them not available for purchase individually. Besides people cancelling and moving reservations, there are those upper class guests and dining package people they have to accommodate. I had no problem with my Unlimited Dining Package once I got onboard. Sure I had to be flexible with the times and sacrifice some entertainment but I ended up eating about $1024 worth of food for $250. I had two specialty lunches once (not counting a la carte lunch places like Johnny Rockets and Playmakers) and multiple nights with two specialty dinners.
No need to worry about reservations beforehand but do make them once you get onboard.

I have never called, but I have done takeout. I always made a reservation though so the kitchen could plan accordingly. Some of the smaller ships that only have a sushi bar and limited first come first serve seating will offer the takeout option if they are already fully seated.

It takes a couple of weeks usually for there the obc to show up on your reservation. I believe at that point you can use for any any pre cruise purchases.
-
KBrad reacted to YOLO in Bank of America RC Visa - using points
I agree with @Bob Burd. The RCI Visa points will convert to OBC before you cruise, but just sometime after you apply for your reward.. At that point you can use that OBC pre-cruise on the cruise planner. I use this site to redeem points: www.royalcaribbean.com/MyCruiseRewardsOnline
🙂 Yes, there are better credit cards. In most cases you only getting 1% (effective) cash back.

KBrad reacted to Pooch in Hotels in Fort Lauderdale
We are flying into FLL and staying at the Springhill Suites (free airport shuttle & breakfast) in Dania Beach in 3 weeks. SAS Shuttle to POM $15 each then they are returning us to that hotel at the end of the cruise as we are staying one more night. Three nights at the hotel with AAA discount $500.

Yep, and you just take a picture of the negative test (or bring the negative test with you) and show it to them at the port. I'll just snap a picture on my phone.

The biggest news here, (IMO) is that you can use a home non-proctored test ! Who is going to go to a pharmacy to get tested if you can home test ?!
Still waiting for unvaxxed to cruise w/o a test but this is still a nice big step forward !

Testing protocols will be easier
Starting with September 5th, for U.S. cruises that don’t visit Canada or Bermuda:
Vaccinated guests won’t have to take a pre-cruise test on cruises that are shorter than 10 nights. Unvaccinated guests age 5 and up will need to test within 3 days before boarding, regardless of cruise length. We will begin accepting results from self-administered home tests. See full testing details What types of tests are accepted and where do I submit the results? Can I use a home test kit?
Accepted Tests for U.S. Cruises Departing on or After September 5, 2022; with No Stops in Canada or Bermuda
The test you take can be professionally administered by a health professional, such as a doctor or pharmacist, or you can use a home test kit. Home test kits for these sailings are not required to be administered under live video supervision. You will present the negative test result at the time of boarding. You can show it in the form of a printout, an email, or an app screen from the test provider. Or you can show a picture of your negative home test on your phone, or present the actual negative test itself. If you get a positive test result on your pre-cruise test, please call us at 1-800-256-6649 so we can rework your cruise plans. -
