This has been the situation in the whole country since the beginning of the epidemic. RC is going to make the best decisions they can each day to run their business. The best way they can fo this is to get their ships cruising with paying passengers. They will make decisions based on CDC requirements, global Covid issues affecting ports of call, and what their customers are willing to pay for. Things will change daily because those 2 things are changing daily.

AOS Bahamas - Disembark on Embarkation day
wordell1 replied to 0_0's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I doubt it makes a difference either way. The taxi will pull up to the hotel and the porters are right there to take your bag. At 50% capacity your bags will come quickly. -
Rather than Coke vs Pepsi, I would say it's more like Target vs Walmart. They both have very similar products but attract noticeably different customers.

AOS Bahamas - Disembark on Embarkation day
wordell1 replied to 0_0's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Our bags were definitely scanned as usual. My wife's bag had a sticker indicating that they had opened it to check her power strip (which was a multi USB adapter so it was ok). I never saw anything that said you couldn't bring 2 bottles on as normal. Bahamas customs didn't require us to open our bags, although they were set up to do do. They did not ask about alcohol at all, only about our plans and how much currency we were carrying. -
AOS Bahamas - Disembark on Embarkation day

I can't answer the 1st question as we did not try. I don't see why you couldn't drop off your bags and then check in later. Our bags were taken from the taxi by a RC porter. We then proceeded into the hotel to check in. If we had left in the same cab instead, or walked from the hotel to the downtown area, I don't think anyone would have noticed. Just set you check in appointment for later in the day. -

Does the Evian Bottled Water package still exist?

Yes, my wife and I have done it several times today! I drink one before bed and usually one in the middle of the night. Prevents hangovers. -
allure returns in 2026 All Things Galveston
wordell1 replied to Galveston Steve's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
That was put in as a hedge against continued Covid shutdowns. With cruising back, I am pretty sure construction will be completed on time.- 971 replies

People are going to need to expect the unexpected over the next few months. There will likely be many changes to itineraries, pre boarding and on-board protocols, etc. We should remember that a lot of people don't want us cruising at all and Royal has been leading the fight to get us back to doing what we love. My understanding is that people can still cancel and apply the full price towards another future cruise when things may be a little more certain.

Does the Evian Bottled Water package still exist?
wordell1 replied to adwo41's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
With the package, you can pick up 2 at a time (each) from a bar by showing your card. You could easily go to the next bar and repeat. They can be stored in the room cooler. If you don't have the package, the ships water is really good. You can fill up your drink cups and ask your room attendant to keep the ice bucket full. -
Thanks!

Adventure of the Seas most important question
wordell1 replied to OutToSea's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Day 6 (Thursday) according to the Royal App. -
Just as in the US, things are constantly changing with regards to Civud travel requirements. I'm sure Royal is working with each port to work out something that works. Keep in mind that many of these places have not had access to vaccines to the extent that we in the US are used to. They need to be concerned about non vaccinated people. Royal will also have concerns based on the rate of infection in each port. I would expect changes, even up to the last minute.

Now that looks good!

If it is a true first class seat, then I think it is worth it. Most domestic airline seats are really business class and in my opinion, not worth it unless the price difference is very small. With Covid, the extra service and better meals aren't happening.

Itinerary Changes - Symphony?
wordell1 replied to dandi799's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I have no information but I would expect changes based on what each destination is requiring for Covid protocols and how that fits with what RC is doing (which they probably haven't finalized). -
Richard Fain discusses RC's vaccine strategies
wordell1 replied to smokeybandit's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I blame the CDC for this. Children who are not eligible should have been exempted from the vaccine requirements for a "fully vaccinated" cruise, which is the option that RC would have preferred. Personally, I don't really care whether non vaccinated people are on a cruise with me, or what the rules for those people are as long as it doesn't affect me. My only slight concern would be an outbreak amongst the non vaccinated people ending the cruise suddenly - which is highly unlikly if we are testing beforehand. Cases are dropping all over the country so this may all be a moot point soon. -
For me, 4 free drinks a day would easily make the drink package not make sense. I suspect there will be a lot less packages sold to Diamond and above.

Recommendation for family beach excursion in Cozumel
wordell1 replied to josepena12's topic in Shore Excursions
I like paradise beach. They have a pay as you go option where you pay $3 to get in an pay for food and drink. If you aren't big drinkers, it may make more sense vs all inclusive. The food is good. Their website heavily advertises the all inclusive option, but the pay as you go is still an option. The best all inclusive beach club in Cozumel | Paradise Beach Cozumel -
The Bahamas health visa is really easy if you are vaccinated - if you are bringing unvaccinated children, it is defintely more difficult.
