Geoff P got a reaction from Thumper44 in Discovery of the Seas
I like the idea of utilizing the Edge class hull to jump start the design and go with around 3500 at double occupancy etc…gives you more of the desirable balcony and suite staterooms compared to the ships it would be replacing in the vision and radiance class…plus you can do more desirable itineraries which you can charge more for, so I could see it being approved for those reasons, but like you hinted towards, the board of a publicly traded company cares about one thing so….

Geoff P got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Royal Beach Club Paradise Island
Has Royal released any renderings about what the area is going to look like? I was there a few days ago and it’s hard to picture it at this stage of construction

Geoff P got a reaction from FionaMG in release dates for 2026 Itineraries
Yea Adventure was up here in either 2022 or 2023, then Liberty replaced it…I believe Freedom was up here before the pandemic

On Adventure, they continue to use the "it'll still be faster if you take the stairs" elevators.

Geoff P reacted to ChessE4 in Port Canaveral stop from Bayonne
We took the shuttle bus from the port to Cocoa Beach and walked a short distance ro the beach, dinosaur store, etc. You could also try a 3rd party excursion, such as a river dolphin sightseeing trip. If you are far out from cruise date the Royal excursions will populate later. Maybe 2 and 5 year olds don't want to walk very far.

There's The Dinosaur Store which is in Cocoa Beach. It would require a taxi/rideshare or car rental to get there. It's about 15 minutes from the port.
I know you have little ones, so that can be difficult with the car seat issues. It is also closed on Tuesdays. Sometimes the ship offers a Cocoa Beach transfer excursion that would get you in that area on a bus and not need car seats.

Geoff P got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in Quantum of the Seas North Star not working
I believe it’s been down for a while and won’t be operational until Quantum goes in for dry dock.

They are headed to Singapore to go into dry dock. The Captain explained to us two weeks ago that the work done will be mostly "back of the house" upgrades and not much on the guest side of things.

Navigator is headed to Asia for dry dock. No revenue cruises until April.

Geoff P reacted to HeWhoWaits in Celebrity vs Royal Caribbean to Bermuda
I don't have direct experience with Celebrity's Camp at Sea program, but based on the very small number of children I saw on Reflection last week, if your kids like lots of other kids - stick with Royal. If your kids prefer smaller groups - go Celebrity.

Geoff P reacted to SLM in Celebrity vs Royal Caribbean to Bermuda
@Geoff P I'm no expert, but Celebrity ships were not designed with kids in mind, whereas Royal Caribbean ships were. I don't know that either ship has much for the under 5 crowd, but everything I've read indicates that while you can take kids on Celebrity, Royal is far better for kids. If we were taking kids, I would definitely stick with Royal. I'm only looking at Celebrity because this will be our first cruise without kids.

Geoff P got a reaction from WAYNO in Packing Cubes?
I haven’t really noticed this as I’m still packing the same amount of stuff, I can just fit it in less bags/suitcases, so it makes it a little easier for me. We have 2 young kids so saving space is key for us and if I can bring one less bag or turn a checked bag into a carry on it’s a bonus…plus their clothes don’t weight much 😂

I use them now for every trip, I like the compression ones as they really squeeze everything down and make more room in the suitcase or bag
