I’m very excited to read about how SC in Asia differs from SC in the US.

Look in “Onboard Activities”

Bonaire is an amazing place to dive or snorkel....but if you decide to do either, I strongly recommend you do it from a boat rather than from shore. The beaches on Bonaire (the ones I’ve visited, anyway) are strewn with dead coral and rocks. It’s just not what we know as “pristine” beaches. Under the water ? Beautiful. The beaches...not so much

The kielbasa and pretzel looks yummy. Not much of a fan of kraut and not sure what the other thing is. Potato of some kind ?

Interesting that they will have an Izumi and a teppanyaki in separate locations.
I am very surprised to see that they will continue with the Concierge Lounge and have not switched over to the Suites Lounge.
I also notice that they did NOT adopt the ship-within-a-ship concept for the suites. Very happy to see that the downgraded the aft suites on deck 10 from Star Class. They were not SC caliber AT ALL.

Welcome to the blog, JustmeCindy. I don’t have any idea about your question but I’m sure someone here has some experience.

How do the star class luggage tags differ than other suites? The one's I got for my SC cruise they only say suite on them.
Yes, that’s correct. The luggage tags just say “Suite”. The Set Sail Pass has “ Star” on it.

Is Freedom still going to have a Concierge Lounge after the Amp ? Isn’t it being replaced by a Suites Lounge like all of the other ships ?
I am a big fan of convenient location so I completely understand the desire to be close to whatever amenity you’re looking for. Certainly the OS will have more square footage than the GS but for me, the biggest + for the OS is the elimination of that stupid “bar” of the GS and the addition of the dining table/chairs inside (plus the bidet !). I would be careful of any room directly beneath either the WJ or the pool deck. It can be noisy.
If you are unable to secure an OS or GS now, I recommend booking a refundable JS and hope for an OS/GS to become available down the road. If something does not become available and they decide they don’t want to sail in a JS, they can still get a refund.
Suites are very funny. For MONTHS, there remained 2 OS on my Oct 2020 Brilliance sailing. They were waaay overpriced (IMO) so I was very surprised when one morning, they were both “gone”. I guess they both sold b/c they never came back. You pretty much have to book them when you want them or they will -poof - disappear.

I've cruised over Thanksgiving a few years now, and really enjoy it.
Be sure to hit the main dining room on Thanksgiving for a special menu.
I’m very glad to hear that you had a great meal for Thanksgiving. Let me say, however, that on NAV 2 years ago, Dan and I had a perfectly horrible Thanksgiving meal. It was so bad that Dan has refused to set foot in any MDR (breakfast being a rare exception) since. Hopefully that was some kind of awful glitch. We still continue to sail during Thanksgiving, but we eat elsewhere.

If you win a Royal Up bid for a GS or above and have already purchased The Key, do you automatically get The Key price refunded
No. You would have to manually request the Key refund. You can either do it yourself before the cruise (money refunded to your CC) or do it after you board or get the Concierge to help you get the refund (On Board Credit).

If your 9-year-old is into the water slides and water activities, I would choose #4. If he prefers indoor activities, #5.

For ships that still offer this, it is just a more comfortable and less crowded place for you to take your WJ lunch to eat. There are no servers to help you. It’s rather inconvenient, IMO to haul your food all the way out to one of the [closed] specialty restaurants and we never utilized this “perk”. Nowadays, most of the specialty restaurants are open for lunch (particularly on sea days) so it’s pretty uncommon to even see this venue available anymore.

This pretty much says it all. You don’t NEED a TA until you need one.
