I tried two versions of this.  One was using Monin Lavender Syrup, which Royal uses, and the other with homemade (sugar-free) lavender syrup.


The one with Monin had a subtle lavender taste.  The one with the homemade syrup was too "flowery"

Update:
Had the closing on our VA house this morning and headed south with a VERY full 26' U Haul truck !  I can't believe everything fit in there, but it did.  I was even able to fit a number of my favorite Hibiscus (or high biscuits, as I call them) in there.  YIIPPEE !!!
Florence, SC is about 1/3 of the way so that's where we are spending the night, tonite.  JAX will be the next stop tomorrow night and then on to Port St. Lucie on Thursday.
We were able to secure an adequate rental home for the next year.  As long as it's reasonably clean (and I am assured that it will be) I really don't care much about it.  It's just an interim place to sleep.  It's in one of the newer gated communities (The Cascades) so I'm sure we'll be very comfortable there until our house is ready (Sept/Oct 2021).
I have accepted the PT job for my old contract as an Independent Contractor.  I will not be doing any work on that contract until probably early Dec. as I have to get to the new house and get settled.  Looking forward to it, truly.  It will be nice to be back with the old team.
Anyway, on with the new adventure !  How exciting.
RELEASE THE KRAKKEN !!

Well, we did it !  Put down a down payment to get started.  Picked out a house and lot.  Should be ready in just a bit more than a year.  Meanwhile, we must return to VA and sell our house.  We will move into something temp locally and move to FL when our new house is ready.  
We will be in a brand new phase of the development so right now, there is nothing but dirt and sand there.
So, flying back early tomorrow. Upgraded to FC so happy about that.
What a whirlwind !  It might sound like an impulse buy to some, but truthfully, this is our fourth trip to FL house-hunting. We tried the west coast.  Nope...the drive from Tampa to the Port of Miami was horrific.   Tried central Florida but only Port Canaveral was really convenient.  I knew that we would not be able to afford the Miami area, so after just 1 perusal in south Florida, we moved on.  Not only was it expensive, but they didn’t really have the type of “Active 55+ community” that we were looking for.  We finally tried the south-central east coast (Port St Lucie) and it was Juuuust right.  Almost exactly half way between Port Canaveral and Miami.  Dan kept saying that when we found the right place, we’d “know it”.  I guess he was right.  I have bought and sold many homes in my life but this will be the first brand new/build home for me.  Very excited !

Not a beverage pic, but here’s how we “got by” this morning, courtesy of our younger daughter. Not only is is she a great artist and photographer, she’s also a mean cook!

Red velvet pancakes on top. Banana cinnamon chip pancakes on bottom. Both from canned mix, not scratch, but...! She added chocolate chips to the red velvet ones, made a brown sugar butter topping for the banana ones, and melted more chocolate in the double boiler for the drizzle. And put out the fruit and other things to have with them.

I made these over the weekend  and called it a Quarantini - coconut rum, raspberry vodka, vanilla vodka and pineapple juice.

Re: elective surgeries....I feel so lucky to have gotten this knee replacement when I did.  The surgeons that did this knee are now postponing all such surgeries.  We have just been ahead of this awful wave in so many ways...I feel so blessed.

who are working especially hard during this Covidilemma - waiting on hold with the cruise companies (ALL of them!), rebooking, refunding, repricing, upgrading - WHATEVER.  I imagine they are all putting in LOTS of extra hours to help their clients.  (We're looking at you, M.E.I. folks, but also so many more of the great ones out there!).

My cruise is now in the history books - favorite drinks in order were:  1. French 75 from Schooner Bar.  2.  Coconut Mojito.  3.  Lavender Daquiri     And there were MANY others sampled - rum punch, pina colada, margarita, Bloody Mary (yuck!), mimosa, scotch collins, Mai Tai, gin and tonic, plain martini.....

We stayed at the Pan Pacific hotel. It is attached to the port.  We thought it was perfect for our needs.
