Im going to hope that my Royal Up bid gets accepted because people are irrational enough to cancel, and/or not go on their cruises. I will also worry more (which is to say hardly at all) about tripping over my kids toys and breaking my ankle, or getting in a car accident on the way to the port, or any other thing that is WAY more likely to happen. I will also wash my hands, and use hand sanitizer, as I ALWAYS do because people are disgusting, by nature.  

Sounds like too much trouble to me...vbg....I'll meet you at the pool, casino, buffet, spa, running track, putt putt,  MDR, Library, Atrium Bar, etc.    I know we can find something else to do.  

I absolutely agree its going to get worse.....but still not near enough for me to adjust my travel plans. Google "SARS outbreak 2002" and see if it sounds familiar. I cruised in 2002, also. lol

Its hot in South Carolina in October.....so I think you should be fine in the Bahamas and Jamaica. My family swims in the ocean here in SC in October, and think its warm enough. Water activities in Bahamas/Jamaica should be great.  
Thanks to Google, the avg. temp in Jamaica in October is 87, and in Bahamas its 81.....add in humidity and I think its plenty warm. 

That question can be asked about anything though.  "Why expose ourselves to greater of a car crash by driving?"  Right now vaccine estimates are at 18 months for development / testing and I wouldn't expect a cure to be forthcoming anytime soon if ever. 
It's fully up to each individual what their level of acceptable risk is.  I certainly wouldn't be planning a trip to Asia right now, but a flight and cruise out of North America I have no issues with.  That could change depending on how the next several months before my next one go through.  The news often focuses on what sells though, which unfortunately is largely fear and that can drastically distort reality at times.

Yes and no.  The regular flu has been deadlier because more people have caught it, the mortality rate for corona is looking to be significantly higher though so far.  Practicing good hygiene is always a good idea, but corona is spread largely by person to person contact, particularly via respiratory droplets (coughing / sneezing), washing your hands often has little impact on that (but should be done for a multitude of other reasons).
Overall, it's not something I'd spend a lot of time worrying about, any more than I'd spend time worrying about getting hit by a car on my way to grab coffee.  Take appropriate precautions, same as you would with the cold, flu, noro, etc.

Bucket lister coming up first of June.....Rome then Greek Isles on Explorer. I am watching this and trying not to overreact but it's hard to do with the news bombarding us with details 24-7. The "outbreak" in northern Italy is concerning but will it be a deal breaker?? Time will tell....not the media.

It would be an "Alive/Poseidon Adventure" mash-up! No thanks. I'm good.

@SteveinSC @FManke As a chubster this is always my go-to for the worst scenario. I once had to do a survival project at work and of course cannibalism was first on the list....my coworkers looked at me funny the rest of the week.
