USCG Teacher reacted to raahc in San Juan
That's a nice looking brace and I like that it's machine washable. Thank you!

If you're concerned or need additional support, I've had great success with this brace:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TZTO0TO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I had a grade 3 sprain when I was in the Guard, and coming back to work I needed something to let me work on a rolling/pitching deck without killing myself or someone else. This really did the trick. Super supportive, and it fit in my boot or sneaker. I still wear it to work out.

USCG Teacher reacted to KathyC in AotS Stateroom Walls
I have been on Adventure of the Seas (AoS) with my magnets and they work fine everywhere: doors, walls, ceilings. I have not been on Anthem of the Seas (AoS) or Allure of the Seas (AoS) with my magnets but have been on a sister ship of each and same experience.
We use the hook magnets on the walls for lanyards & hats. We have small round flat magnets for the walls for invites & compasses. We also have a magnet white board for the wall that came with an eraser and dry erase markers that also are magnetic so they sit on the wall next to the board.
We use the magnetic hooks on the ceiling to dry swimsuits. We also bring large beach towel clips to clip clothes to the chairs on the balcony.
We use magnetic hooks on the wall in the closet for hanging necklaces and my jewelry bag.
I need to start taking more pictures for answering questions. LOL

This is the kind of thinking I can get behind. ?

USCG Teacher reacted to marti314 in Tipping at specialty restaurants
Thats how tips are supposed to work, nowadays the mentality is "if i give them a TIP before they do any work then they will do better work". While this may be true it sets a terrible precedence as at work we call it Bribery.

USCG Teacher reacted to Finally Retired in Early Morning (6:30 am) excursion time
Thanks so much. I hadn't thought about checking the port arrival time, still fairly new to cruising and it never really mattered before because I don't usually book anything before 9:) I'm taking along a few ziplocks just in case I get an urge for a late night cookie or snack so I'll be sure to have one available in case i need it for some morning goodies!

USCG Teacher reacted to FManke in Current coffee?
I like Illy a lot. I'm ok with Seattle's Best. I'm not a huge Starbucks guy. It's not that I mind the coffee that much, more that I feel Starbuck's is over-hyped. If I had a choice, I'd rather drink Peet's.

USCG Teacher got a reaction from melmar02 in Hello! and an introduction!
I have heard that if you contact them prior to boarding, the staff will make accommodations for your daughter. Also, I'm not sure of her age, but I know the Adventure Ocean staff are trained in working with children on the spectrum as well. There's an organization out there called Autism on the Seas (https://autismontheseas.com/) that has lots of information, even if you don't use their services. Good luck!

USCG Teacher got a reaction from raahc in "New" MDR Menus
Was a photo minor in college in the 90s, and worked as a 1-hour photo lab manager to help pay for school. Would routinely cruise with 15-20 rolls of film. Still remember traveling with my lead-lined film bags, and not having airport security do anything more than give them a precursory glance. Pre-9/11 travel sure was a different world!

I'll never forget, I had a chilled banana soup at lunch in the MDR on Enchantment about a million years ago. It was delicious, but pre-digital camera days, so sadly no photo. ?

Bumping my own post after editing it. I originally listed the port as Freeport. It's Nassau. Figured I'd update it with a minor detail like THE RIGHT ISLAND. ?

Looking forward to what everyone says... we're going to Nassau in October and just want a relaxed beach day as well. We did Atlantis in June so we're trying to take it easy (and cheap) this time!

USCG Teacher reacted to Brobbins246 in Cruise cabin - over door organizer
Maybe I got lucky on this, but I actually had two shoe organizers with metal hooks on my cabin bathroom door (one inside and one outside) and never heard anything about them not being allowed. Mine were a standard size (prob the same as Kel Kel has) and they fit great. The one inside the bathroom covered up the hook on the door but that didn't bother us.
