We just got confirmation today that we won an upgrade from JS to GS for our 9/17/23 Sailing on Wonder!  So that's 15 days in advance for upgrade notification.  Was a bit surprised it happened so far in advance of sailing since it appeared that this sailing was pretty much sold out.  I was pleasantly surprised this morning. 😁

I mean - if you want to help, you don't need to get on a cruise to help. There are ways to donate. It sounds like you are using the excuse of "wanting to help" to complain about the fact that:

When you go at 1 it's basically an open house.  Lots of staff to show you around, answer questions and get your kid registered.  Taking time to look around, it took 15 minutes tops.  Very easy process!

When you cancel, your OBC will be reinstated.  Then you can use the OBC again when you repurchase.

The OBC will immediately be released back to your Cruise Planner for you to reuse.
The part you paid with a credit card will be refunded to that card. This could take a few days.
When you repurchase, any amount over the OBC will have to be paid again, while you await your refund.

Years ago, us 'natives' did a KSC visit. There was the visitors center and 'rocket garden', the bus tour out to the VAB and bus tour  of what was then called Canaveral Air Force Station. Couldn't fit the VAB tour in, but did go on the Canaveral AFS tour. That is where the real history is. Manned space flight, with all its successes, failures and heartbreak launched from there. The tour consisted of driving past historic launch pads and a stop at a launch control blockhouse, turned into a museum, maintained by an Air Force officers association; one of their members would give a talk and walkaround tour of the consoles. Don't even know if it still exists.
The absolute thrill of my lifetime at KSC? We attended a fundraiser for the Astronaut Memorial Foundation. A screening of Apollo 13 in the Visitor Center IMAX theater, followed by a dinner hosted by flight director Gene Kranz & Commander Jim Lovell of Apollo 13 with a discussion of that mission following dinner. Unforgettable.
I digress, but 3 hours at KSC really isn't enough IMO.

Nobody really knows yet what will be included and excluded from the UDP/dining packages for Icon.  My personal guess (and that's all it is) is that the supper club will not be included in the UDP.  It sounds very much like Chef's Table to me.  My hunch is the same will be true for the virtual dining train car option, whatever it's called.  With the dining  packages becoming more and more restrictive, I do not see them including some of these more "involved" dining options.
We will be sailing Icon in Star Class in December 2024 and I am expecting some of these dining options to be an extra charge, should we decide to utilize them....and my first inclination will be to not pay extra for them.  The train car thing, in particular, seems like it will be a "one and done" kind of thing for most people.  I hope it's not another Wonderland blunder....but I haven't seen it yet so I will withhold final assessment. Hopefully I am completely wrong about all of it !!

If you're sailing on a ship with a Playmakers, really enjoy the burger there with garlic parm fries.

Oh, now I understand.  I guess it's good I've not experienced that one.  Hope to keep it that way too.

I complained to AAA and was told to contact Herz. Herz says car I was given was larger. I said that was their problem as I didn't pick an upgrade. Won't  deal with them again and exploring how to follow up on their bait and switch tactic. Funny that Thrifty didn't say car was larger. It certainly didn't seem larger.

This is an interesting development.  A few weeks ago I was at a local NJ attraction that had a sign posted at their ticket office that said that effective immediately they were no longer accepting AAA passes due to "delayed payment and lack of communication."  🤔
