I pretty much use mine exclusively for photos and video once aboard. It's nice to be a little disconnected for a while when on vacation.

Just got back from a 3-night on Mariner. Night 2 was "Dress Your Best" night and one of the reasons the hubby and I took my mom and my sister on their first cruise--they love getting dressed up in really nice dresses. Personally, I love getting dressed up too; my husband is not so keen, but does it for me.
All this to say, if it's your thing, great. If not, no worries as the "dress code" is more of a "dress suggestion."

Somehow, this sounds very fishy to me. While being diabetic is something that needs to be attended to, and cruise lines likely are sensitive to it, I very much doubt it to be a reason for denial of passage on a cruise ship.

We went with the three-night dining package as it seemed to be the most cost-effective way to enjoy some of the specialty dining as well as the regular (included options). We just didn't feel that the unlimited dining package would be worth our money as we wanted to have a diversity of food experiences. Don't regret our choice. Other persons' mileage may vary.

We had a birthday and an anniversary on harmony. Mdr sang birthday and an anniversary song (they were identical with a word changed out).
Room stewarts gave us a tiwel cake and decorated the room with a package one of our traveling mates bought.

My opinion is this: I'm on vacation! I have absolutely no desire to do laundry!
That said, I knew that I needed to do a little during our 7-night sailing. I just put the clothes in a gallon bag with a little detergent, washed it in the shower, and hung it to dry in the stateroom. (Utilizing the clip hooks from the dollar store, on the magnetic walls.) Quick and easy and basically free.

I have to agree, much better to do the coaster in the morning before everyone makes it to the back of the island and save the beach or other activities for the afternoon.

We managed to fit a CPAP in a carry on with clothes in the same bag too, but it depends on the size of the carry on. Fortunately, RC not really fussy about how much stuff you put in your carry on. Airlines are a little different...
