"Cunard President, Simon Palethorpe, said: “With many differing restrictions across countries, people’s ability to move freely and safely across borders remains seemingly someway in the distance. For Cunard, where we celebrate having a truly international mix of guests and sail all over the world, this becomes particularly impactful."
He won’t exactly say it’s because of the older guests directly but I’m sure it was a factor..average age on most cruises is Over 60

Generally they have older guests so might have something to do with it..

@Jason12 How is England?? My cruise that was cancelled was a trans Atlantic to Southampton on Anthem last April. We rescheduled that cruise for April 2021. We have rail passes in England which are unused but will expire in January 2021. I was thinking about flying into London and use up the rail passes before going to Spain.
We are a mess at the moment so many lies and fake news, we are opening all shops etc on the 15th June, schools opened last week for young kids, at the moment 14 day isolation for anyone coming into the country, sport our football resumes next week behind closed doors, I suspect by end August things will be nearly back to normal ish

@Jason12 It wouldn't hurt to call them about the FCC. I never did receive an email about the FCC. When I called, I was told that it was processed 3 weeks before and they applied the FCC to a cruise that was already booked --- the Allure TA in fact. I had a remaining balance on that cruise that was less than the FCC. When the FCC was applied, I received a $700 refund from the Allure TA. Tell me that Spain is opening up so Allure will have guests back to Miami.
Yes Spain and lots more are opening over next few weeks, all local airlines are flying to holiday destinations by end of month so hopefully we will be sailing over to Miami in November

Our May 30th cruise was canceled by RC on April 26th. They promised the FCC by 5/22 and we received it 5 days late on 5/27. They said the refund of port fees and taxes would be about 45 days. That would have been about June 1st but here on 6/7 we haven’t received it yet. With tens of thousands of transaction to process I’m not surprised it’s late. Hoping to get it some time this month, if not I’ll start calling
My email says issued within two weeks that was 4 weeks ago

How long are FCC taking to get emailed out..?

Have you tried booking from the US website, I've not done a price comparison but can see me spending a few hours and compiling a spreadsheet on the US and Aus sites, I so badly need to get away on a cruise
Latest prices for our cruise we only paid $4100 and the UK as not moved from when we booked

Yes on the US site but the higher deposit puts me off the little saving now it’s mainly non refundable like the UK, the only cruises which were any cheaper on the Australian site were the ones from Sydney all others were similar as UK,

Jason, does the Australian website allow us Brits to book directly via it, I like you I suspect are frustrated by the inflated prices RC charges us here in the UK.
Yes I’ve booked 4 cruise now from the Australian site no problems only downside is you have to phone Australia for any questions or issues but my mobile phone only costs 3p a minute and they answer so fast
-
@Salem I don’t use a TA for this reason, I’m intrigued how you got a flight cost online because they removed that feature some time ago and I’ve been looking everywhere for it on the UK site?
also try do a costing for the cruise from the Australian website because we are saving over £1400 for our Australian cruise, you pay in Aus$ and it’s only $100 deposit but it’s a massive saving..

@Matt ever considered a hotel section would be great to get recommendations

Not sure what Endeavour is? But if you can get us Billions then it’s a deal

He saying he will buy “cancel for any reason insurance” which is exactly that, it’s what some cruise companies sell allowing people to cancel anytime upto a certain date even if you change your mind, and it’s very good I’d say yes do it..

RCCL should at least give all crown and anchor members points for the days they would have earned on cancelled cruises.

Okay riddle me this? Since Allure was closer to the port in Spain for repairs, why not send the other ship that was in Gibraltar to pick up the crew from Allure instead of Allure returning and disembarking those crew? Allure is the one with Izopod issues and not the smaller ship. Things that make you go hmmmmm.
They sent the Jewel, Now the allure is sitting just off Coast of Cadiz..

So my son saw that a cabin next us was available at the same price as his single cabin on the Ovation (= more room and double points) so I phone them and after 40 minutes they say it’s $400 more than the price on the website because it’s classed as an upgrade Really I’ve never had that before but they would not budge, so I did a new booking and requested that the old booking to be cancelled under new rules FCC...So frustrating now they need to do more admin than just doing an upgrade.
I’ve done many upgrades never had this before...

Well crap!
The Jewel is at Gib to take all the crew from the Allure so the Dry dock should still take place once crew are transferred

Yes from me, likely to catch something else before covid on a ship and I’ve had the Noro

If the booking ID still shows up your account after 24 to 48 hours, I would give them a call just to double-check and put your mind at ease. I cancelled a cruise and didn't receive an email for three weeks to find out that the C.S Rep didn't save the cancellation which didn't go through. Per the C.S. Rep I spoke with, it just showed pending status. She hit the "Enter" button and zippo....gone from account and received confirmation.
Ok thanks, it was a rushed call I did get a new Email confirmation for changed cabin on another booking, as I’m in the UK and had to phone Australia and they were closing dam time difference oh and the phone call cost I will keep my eyes peeled

I phoned to Swap and cancel one cruise and they are issuing a FCC for the deposit, I’ve had no email and the booking ID still shows up my account, is this normal until the FCC is issued?
