When I stumble back to our cabin at the end of the day I'm always too beat to even turn the TV on. I actually will only use it for background music anyway. Good luck.

This is the latest cost cutting measure by Royal. They will no longer be having someone change the elevator plaques. 🤷‍♂️

You only hear bad reviews because when things go well and flights operate on time no one takes the time to report it.  Reports are written because something didn't go as planned and people became upset.  
Airlines, especially these days are greedy, terrible companies that don't care about customer service, or the customer, at all.  Air2Sea can't fix that.  Were it not for governments stepping in and preventing it airlines would double the numbers in their planes and treat us even worse.  
Air2Sea allows one to book airfare and it remain refundable without any fees until the final payment due date of the cruise.  Air2Sea does provide some assurance that if there are issues getting to the cruise they may be able to step in and help but they are still at the mercy of the airlines so this assurance is not like a form of travel insurance and some people infer too much from it.  These days with airplanes so full assured arrival has less merit.  

Buy the insurance. Fly in to the port city the day before. Enjoy the cruise.

Just back from an Alaska cruise on Brilliance. Flew out of Newark to Vancouver on United the day before. Flight was almost an hour delayed. Stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront which is across the street from Canada Place (port). It is NOT CHEAP. Flew back to Newark on Air Canada. The United plane did not have the seat back entertainment screens and the cabin smelled of urine. The Air Canada flight did have the screens and it was a Godsend while travelling with 4 kids. Got back almost a half hour early. AC tops United on this vacation.

I'm open to it but I can see the same groups that protest and picket cruise ports now licking their chops to protest nuclear cruise ships coming into port.

We have seen several helicopter evacs on cruises.  And on 1 cruise they actually fueled the helicopter with a plane in mid-air right off our cabin.  They were not close enough to land for the helicopter to carry enough fuel. I always hope that everyone involved are safe and recover. 

While I hate medical emergencies for those involved - and I wish a speedy and thorough recovery for anyone who was injured or ill - I do LOVE a helo-vac off a ship.  So exciting and fun to watch.  I know they are dangerous and never under pleasant circumstances (except when Santa comes - and he arrives mostly by tenders these days).  I have so much respect and admiration for those who are in the medical evac field.  God bless 'em.

On the last day of our Alaska cruise on Saturday morning (August 5) the Captain announced that there was a serious medical emergency onboard which required the passenger to be removed by helicopter. We were in Canadian waters and in some of the worst fog I have ever seen on a cruise. After a while past the announced pick up time he reported it would be delayed for 20 minutes or more because of the fog. Eventually a huge yellow helicopter appeared, it was way too big to land on the helipad, so they lowered apparatus on a cable to complete the task. While you could watch this on your cabin TV a bunch of the people were crowded around the large screens in the Schooner and Colony Club, etc. No word was ever reported (to my knowledge) of the final patient outcome.

These jobs have their ups and downs just like any other job 😉 

Hard pass on selfie sticks. The mindless hordes on Wonder livestreaming themselves were both annoying and the height of inconsiderate. Just not into self absorbed that much.............

The feds should probably review any grants over the past 5 years to see if they were provided on the basis of supporting cruise ships or passengers.  Ports in Maine received $18M in 2022.  The Army Corp of Engineers awarded $6M to a specific project in Bar Harbor.  
If the justification for any grants included cruise ship passengers that needs to be reviewed and possibly reimbursed by the town now.  

One thing I wish Royal did is add more options for the three-night weekend cruises out of FL to other ports in the Bahamas such as Bimini or Freeport, so it is not always Nassau every cruise. 

I wish Cuba was an option again.
