Pro tip: if you're ever not on a ship with a Giovannis Kitchen, the room service pizzas come in boxes as well...the $7.95 service fee (free if in a suite!) is worth it as you can order as many as you like 😉

AshleyDillo got a reaction from ShugrGrl55 in How do you book show reservations on the app?
You will connect to the wifi network. The name will be obvious (WiFi-Guest-Mariner for example). If a browser window to sign in doesn't open automatically just open your browser and it should redirect to the page. There you choose whether you want to access paid VOOM or use the app for free. I know when I'm just trying to access the app when I first board it sometimes won't recognize I'm on the wifi so I have to switch my phone to airplane mode to force it to use the wifi.
To sign into VOOM you'll enter in your name, cabin number and birthdate and it will let you create your login/PIN for your account.

AshleyDillo got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in Questions about Icon of the Seas Release/Booking Timeline
It's been awhile since a new class reveal has happened. It's a little different from the latest new ship (Wonder) since everyone was already familiar with Oasis class.
In theory they're supposed to let C&A members book first, but the TAs will usually be able to jump on them as soon as they're released.

AshleyDillo got a reaction from ALnAtlanta in How do you book show reservations on the app?
Shows are booked through the app once you have boarded and connect to the ship's wifi. Once you are on the wifi you will see a reserve now button and you'll be able to make the show reservations. Make sure you have all your reservations linked so you will see all parties on the app, or make sure one person on each reservation uses the app to reserve for everyone on that reservation.
You will know you have done it right because it will ask you to select the people you are reserving for. The add to calendar items won't prompt you to select individuals.

You order them online and they ship to you within the same week.
No appointments. You go to the website when you're ready to test and it connects you to a proctor. I have never had to wait for an available proctor.

I know the current dates don't line up with school schedules, but I'd love to see a NOLA sailing as a group cruise someday. Hint, hint @Matt.

Same here. If you get cut off this reason, arguing your case isn't likely to get you anywhere but it will provide great entertainment for those watching.

Ok this thread made me go straight to the Royal site and see where I could cruise from New Orleans. It's been way too long since I've been there and it's now added to the "cruises to plan" list... as always, thanks Royal Caribbean blog community!

Depends on what you are looking for out of your trip..there are a lot of variables that come into play here.

That's a very very subjective question.
Though Navigator would be tickled that someone called her "newer"

Can't vouch for the shuttle since I am also a driver when cruising out of NOLA. But as long as you are comfortable walking with your carry-ons, it's easy to drop off your luggage early at the cruise terminal and walk to the French Quarter. There's even a trolley stop at the port you can hop on to get down there. Riverwalk is the mall that was mentioned which is right next to the terminal. Harrah's casino is also right there.
I myself am eyeing some of those Radiance cruises. Love, love, love cruising out of NOLA!

I would just fill out the form and get assigned one. If they don't jive with you, it's perfectly acceptable to request a different one. @Beci will make sure you are taken care of!

Thank you for responding, this community is always well versed in all things cruising. I am excited to go out of New Orleans for first time. The amazing rates were the intial attraction but the New Orleans scene sealed the deal. Thank You again!!

AshleyDillo got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in Sweating it out now before testing for our cruise
As long as you have results that say negative that will get you in the terminal.. They do ask in your health questionnaire at boarding if you've tested positive in the prior 10 days or been around someone who has in the prior 14..so keep that in mind.

AshleyDillo got a reaction from RogerC1 in Just another Covid Testing Question
When you use the tests purchased through the RC link you go through eMed for the testing anyways. Same tests but eMed sells different number of tests in a pack. Make sure you're purchasing the one that includes the proctoring session.

Emed sells the tests directly. They're the same tests you can get through the RC link through Optum. If you purchase the tests through either it includes the proctoring session in the price of the test. Super easy and convenient to do.
