@melski94 That’s great info, I am married to a retired jarhead and we use USAA for all our insurance and somehow I didn’t know this bit of wisdom!

We use the coverage available with our travel credit card since it offers decent benefits. But I recently got a policy through Steve who is at this  URL- https://tripinsurancestore.com/getquotation/
He shoots straight snd offers a multitude of options based on budget and need.
    happy sailing! ??‍♀️

If you are a USAA member, they have a program through C&F Travel insurance.  Good prices but I've never had to submit a claim yet.
You can try Insuremytrip.com.  That site give quotes for several companies including Allianz, AIG and more and has gotten good reviews.

I think she feels really bad from a family member had been diagnosed and now she lost money on a vacation that planning to go. Sometimes, people said something that they should not say when they are in a bad place. I am sure she will get over with it after time goes by. I definitely do not blame Royal for this because Royal is business as I stated in my original post. I just think that he/she got enough bad news.

I might be a minority here that feel sympathy for his/her family. So sorry for what happen to you. However, RCI is a company so RCI only does what is best for Company benefit and has rules. The person you contacted is working for RCI, he/she will have to do for what they had been told. I know you feel upset at this moment but this a part of life. Hope things get better for you.

My son has cochlear implants, which include external parts similar to amped-up hearing aids that have to be charged and electronically dried out each night.  They're wall-powered (ie, the USB charging hub won't help us with this), so we were able to request an extension cord to have additional plug options in the room.  And we have parents with CPAP issues, so the special needs department knows us well already.

@JLMoran  although so far we haven’t required any special equipment, your post is the first I have seen to note that there are special accommodations made for CPAP users and those with similar health-related devices. Had no idea there was even a special email address. Great info! ??
Oh, and ditto on the water shoes. Essential! ?

In the 70’s, the hot place for spring break during high school and college in the Atlanta area was Daytona Beach, FL. Almost every year there was someone who died from trying to cross from one balcony to another (as with the 16yo boy that just lost his life doing this on a RCL ship). I think at that age it just doesn’t occur to you that you can die, they feel invincible. Such a sad ending and such a horror for his family.

First problem I see is that the beds in all these rooms are on pedestal bases. Where the heck am I supposed to stow my luggage? The closet, like some animal?!? ?

I wish there was a way to track your EXACT cabin category somewhere.  I have had the same experience as Sabrina where you must track the prices of JS in hopes that the higher priced categories follow the trend.  ....but alas, nobody, that I have found, anyway, tracks the exact cabin categories....just the lowest category in a cabin class.  ☹️

We will also sail in May ‘19 and I had thought that surely it would be completed by then. Although construction timing is difficult to predict, I hope that their confidence is warranted. Would be nice to have the pier done so that it’s a faster in and out!

Was at Coco Cay on December 18, 2018 on the Grandeur of the Seas and wanted to snap some pictures of the construction.  Work was being done on the pier that day, although based on previous pictures it's moving at a snails pace. Here are pictures of the pier.

@2BeezeYes. You can still get a price reduction. I have done this first hand.
    Here are some examples:
    A) We booked a star Loft on Harmony and there are only 2 per ship. We grabbed the last one. This was back in January 2018. I have since priced it down 3 times for a total of almost $3K less than what I originally paid.
    B) Anthem GC we booked a JS. There are many in this category but JS sold out a long time ago. I have also priced this one down about $500 since it disappeared.
    C) most recently, we booked the Villa suite on Harmony. There is only one. I recently just got another $200 off of it. Not much but still something.
How does this happen? I track prices on all the categories in the class that I book. For example, for the Star loft, I was tracking all the prices for JS and above. If there was a drop in one of those categories, I would call and assume there was a drop in mine even though mine was gone. There was every time.
So the answer to your question is yes, you can re-price even if the category is gone.  It is not hopeless.  As long as it is all prior to final payment. But you have to make the effort to track it.

As innocent a play as you will find (any sexuality is such a caricature that your child is likely to miss the reference ?). I do remember asking my father on a trip to NY when I was about 10 why I couldn’t go with him to see No No Nannette _ just made me want to see it more that I couldn’t! I haven’t seen it yet!

We use to pay $75 a day for ours for someone to stay overnight and come one during mid day (they had a doggie door and fenced yard). They were old and the one time I boarded them they were a wreck (and hoarse) when I returned so paying that was worth it to travel without feeling horrible. I can imagine 4 would be pricey ! It did keep us from traveling for quite some time until we found someone we trusted to that degree with our furkids and our home. Glad you found someone to help!
