Alaska excursions that involve helicopters or small planes are up there.
We didn't book through RC (except one we had to replace last minute due to weather) and I don't want to try to remember what that trip cost, lol, but it was worth it.

Unfortunately that's a drawback of a bigger agency..less personal service if you don't have a single point of contact to stay on top of this for you.
It's super frustrating and folks in a similar situation have had their cruise canceled for non-payment because of it, so definitely stay on top of your TA to make sure it is actively being resolved especially as you get close to the final payment date. I read those having the issue would try to make the extra payment (effectively an overpayment) to ensure their cruise wasn't canceled but the payment system didn't recognize there was a balance so it wouldn't take a payment.

Truly canceled? Or just not awarded?

There have been reports of bids being canceled if you have a GTY room booked and they shuffle around the room that is assigned.

You are looking for the famous Leo Brown.  You won't be disappointed.  Makes each visit more rewarding every time go there booking him for the day.

@Matt, is "Bernard's Tours" who you have mentioned in the past? My memory is saying it's someone named Leroy rather than Bernard, but my memory is a bit like a fine steel sieve sometimes.

Aww Jan 2020 how quaint ,  just a couple months before the world ended/went mad. Little did we know what was coming.

I too sometimes struggle with insomnia. I’m either up really late, or really early. I will wander the ship and explore, grab a deck chair on the upper decks and try to catch a few more zzzzz’s. I’ll grab some coffee in the AM and head to an upper deck forward and watch the ship come into port, then move to where I can see all the port operations etc. Even though I am tired from the insomnia, I find these times for me to be the most relaxing part of my cruise. It’s peaceful before all the hustle and bustle of awake passengers etc begin.

Just throwing it out there because I've stayed in an aft JS (not on Adventure, but they're all basically the same layout).
You're going cramped with four people to a junior suite -- the mattress is going to take up most of the space on the floor.  Is it doable?  Yes.  Are you going to get tired of shuffling things around after the 2nd day?  Probably.  Also, it's gonna suck for the kid sleeping on an air mattress for a week.
I'd consider getting an interior room for the aunt so she can have her own space to sleep.

The dead givaway that it's not a RC ship is the shower curtain. I sailed on Enchantment a long while ago - it had the regular plastic door, no shower curtain.

I suck at throwing the dice.  it never fails I either hit someone's chips, miss the back wall, or throw one (or both!) over the wall.  Surprised I haven't been arrested yet!

Baked Alaska reacted to DoomSlayer in $5 Craps
I was on her when she was in Galveston.  Yes they had $5 craps right after the covid lull.  That craps table on Grandeur was the only time I saw Security have to arrest someone.  The shooter was cut off because he was sliding the dice and they asked him to leave the casino area.  He refused and started making a scene.  Security circled him and, well, let's just say he ate from "room service" the rest of the trip, had a "private bodyguard" posted at his door, and was escorted off the ship with a new pair of shiny bracelets.

I don't really gamble, but if table games were $5 I might consider having a bit of a go at it. Seeing $10 minimums scares me off.
So maybe they are on to something... I am a prime example of they type of people they might be looking to attract.
Personally I don't understand why they would want a higher minimum... It's the minimum, people can always wager more. Unless the goal is to only have serious gambles at the tables, but then they are limiting the interest in the games.

I’m currently on Symphony of the Seas and the minimum bet on the craps table is $5.   This is the first RC cruise I’ve been on with the minimum not being $10.  I asked the casino dealers if it’s just this ship or fleet wide.  They told me it’s just this ship.  I also asked if this was some kind of test for the rest of the fleet and they didn’t know.
Maybe Matt can do some investigating on this?

Baked Alaska reacted to KWong in Victoria, BC any reason to get off the ship?
I was looking at the Skywalk for my (non-cruise) trip to BC this summer since we saw it on The Amazing Race Canada and were curious about it.
My conclusion is that it's a purpose-built tourist attraction with appeal as an accessible hike with an elevated view and a dry slide (ugh) as it's major selling points. At $37 CDN pp (not including transport over), it could get pricey. But it does get you out of the city and nature-adjacent, so there is that.
I think that, with 10 hours to play with, it's not a bad way to spend a few hours. But it's not something that screams "must do" to me.

Put your aunt and your kid in the real bed (split into 2 singles) and you and your wife could take the couch.

This is probably a better solution. Especially if you can get connecting rooms (assuming it's not too late). Bonus - you get an extra full bathroom.

Way too many adults in one tiny cabin. Spend a few $$ and get an extra room.

I'm no expert, having only been in a GS twice, but I don't think there's any general answer. It will just depend on the supply and demand of your particular sailing.
If you enjoy filet mignon, the only other piece of advice I have would be to not skip night one in CK as that's always filet night and it is highly regarded. I know my family found it excellent the two times we had it (once on Wonder).

B2B on enchantment last summer. Problem one da6 with a smell of diesel in our interior cabin. Reported it to guest services and went ashore for the day
by the time we returned the issue had been fixed, we received a courtesy call from guest services to check all was ok and received a 10% of cruis3 price credit for another cruise
found everyone on the ship very helpful so surprised you didn’t get help when the issues were reported

We did not give Victoria much thought on our Alaskan cruise and had nothing planned.  We walked into town past Fisherman's Wharf.  We are so glad we did. It truly is a beautiful city.
