I recently had a phone mysteriously stop working.  No bathroom or water involved, it just turned into a brick.  It happened the day before I flew out at 6am for a cruise.  I had to make the trip to the phone store from my hotel the day before a cruise.  I feel your pain.

Tried the rice thing then read Do not do that because a piece might become lodged in the plug in. Sure enough that happened!  Now I have rice stuck in the plug. I tried everything then I read the online suggestions and I had already done everything wrong.
Looks like I will be heading to phone store on the way home tomorrow.

I intended to post from Cozumel yesterday but had an accident  in that my ?flew out of my pocket and landed in an unfortunate place ?in the cramped bathroom. I tried everything but it appears to be be like the witch in the Wizard of Oz “undeniably and reliably dead.”
I am using my husband’s ? for this post and he is a little stingy with it ??so I will finish when I get ? tomorrow.

The ? just sailed and I am about to lose free wifi from port. We really try to unplug while onboard which is why this will be hit and miss slogging.
We endured the muster although after the situation with the Viking ? I paid closer attention.
Lunch in Windjammer was tasty. I always head for mashed ?  and gravy and a few salads to feel like I am eating healthy.
This is a first for us. We’re not just unplugged but also unscheduled. No dining room or My Time Dining reservations. We’re just going to wing it in the Windjammer and various venues when and where we feel like it.
I packed only shorts and swimsuits and my husband is looking forward to 5 days of not having to shave. Of course he will look like a homeless person by the time we return Monday.
Off to the diamond club  for free drinks ? and appetizers!!

Yesterday we followed our unplanned unplugged cruise ? non plans.
We decided to try MDR for both breakfast and lunch .The service was not great either time. At breakfast they forgot my husbands fruit ? and my oatmeal. The eggs benidict were a surprise on the menu but very disappointing.-hard and cold
Lunch brought the best meal of the day which was a sirloin strip tender and perfectly cooked  followed by warm cherry ? crepes. ?
After ? and reading ? we went to the Masquerade theater to watch GREEN BOOK ??? then off to the diamond club for wine ? and cocktails ? The red wine for diamond members was so bitter I almost ?. I tried both merlot and cabernet. Steer clear! It was formal night and many cruisers were dressed to the nines
We had a very good dinner ? in the Windjammer then  hung around the Centrum until time for karaoke  A couple of ? ? were   amazing but the rest not so much but everyone had fun .
Today most passengers are in Progresso  but we stayed on board
More when I get free wifi again

This is the same way we do it, that way there is no speculation.
We take our DL and leave the passport in the room safe.
1 credit card and some cash.

Hey, Emma.  Welcome to the boards and to cruising !  Both are GREAT !
Whether or not you need identification (in addition to your seapass card) is a function of the port.  Some require personal ID and some do not.  We always take our driver's licenses with us off the ship just in case.
Whether or not to take your passport off the ship with you is an area of great discussion and disagreement...although it is always FRIENDLY disagreement.  We never EVER take our passports off the ship...but many take them EVERY time.  It's a personal preference.
Security of your items (on the beach or wherever you are going) is always a serious concern.  We never go into the ocean or pool at the same time for this reason, when we are off the ship. I will stay and be "gear watch" while Dan swims and he does the same for me.  It's just an unfortunate fact of trying to secure personal items in an unsecured environment.  Some places will have lockers that you can rent but we rarely do that - only a few times like when we go on an ATV excursion or something like that.

Absolutely NO for arriving an hour late to dinner in the MDR but perfect for MTD. The food is the same, the dining room is the same (just another floor) and the service is the same. That's the answer to your problem. On our very first cruise in 1997, we had early seating and  one of the tables our waiter waited on was a table of young girls from a South American country where they traditionally eat late. EVERY SINGLE NIGHT they came in very very late and our waiter was apoplectic in trying to get them served appetizers when he was already bringing desserts to the other tables. In addition, EVERY SINGLE NIGHT one of them claimed to have a birthday that day and the whole wait staff would stop and sing happy birthday and bring a flaming birthday cake. The waiter graciously accommodated then every night but it made an impression on me-be on time for dinner.

I take a shawl for the evening on deck. Then I leave it in the bar or the dining room.  Then my husband has to go back and ask for it. Then I have to go to the customer service desk and see if it has been turned in. Then my husband tells me not to bring a shawl again because all I do is lose it. It's all part of the cruise experience for us.?

I have not been on Brilliance but have been on Radiance and Jewel several times, both sister ships of same class. It is our favorite class of ships-classicly beautiful, not too large, and a "more mature" crowd without a lot of small children since it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the huge megaships. They have everything you mentioned except I can't guarantee Quest. I am just not sure about it. They are great ships for kicking back, enjoying a glass of wine in the schooner bar and dancing in the Centrum where the music drifts upward and you can look downward and watch the action. I spent 12 nights on the Jewel recently and they had a great Halloween party and some top notch shows in the theater. I don't think you will be disappointed.
