Say a little thank you to the "Big Guy" of allowing me to be on vacation. And by Big Guy...I'm not talking about my husband...lol 
We've had a rough year....cancer diagnoses for me, Major surgery, 12 chemo treatments, (finally finished), Hurricane Harvey flooding our home 2 weeks into my chemo.  I wasn't allowed any alcohol during my treatments......yea, I'm ready for a cruise...and a big ole Bloody Mary!  Come on May!!

AHHH! I love it - I land in San Juan 2 weeks from Thursday, boarding two weeks from Saturday! Keep your fingers crossed the dry dock goes smoothly and I'll be able to share some pictures of the finished work!

Many people take their passport with them in case something happens and they miss the ship.  Bus accident, dive boat sinking, you know...
Personally my book stays in the safe, my passport card comes with me.  While it can't be used to fly I figure it will give me some cred during an emergency or crisis moment and it's a lot easier to carry.  It's ironic a Nexus or Global Entry card can be used to fly but a passport card can't, but I digress.

Hello.  My family and I (husband 2 kids) are on the Adventure of the Seas this summer.  We booked a Jr. Suite and were assigned room 1100.   After we booked  I realized the rooms were not even built yet. With only a few rooms up there, I figured it wouldn't be too loud during the hours that we are actually in the room.  We have bigger kids so they don't need to nap or anything. My husband and I have cruised a long time ago, but the kids have never been.  We are really looking forward to it!  Cant wait to see the pics of the ship after the dry dock. 
On a side note, I have been reading the blog and the messages on this board.  What a great source for info!  I think all of the questions I would have asked, have already been answered!  If  I think of anything else, I know where to go.

As a newbie who's first cruise is in Nov this year, i can honestly say this site has not only been a massive help but has also and maybe more importantly made the prospect of cruising less stressful. Simple things such as what time we can board ship, information regarding dining procedures or even the fact that disney is better for sailing if you want lots of sex , any question that is asked is answered in a friendly manner .  
Should RC do something to help Newbie's settle in? definitely!!! Not every newbie will find or even look for this blog

You don't even have to leave out the fence to be harassed. Our first time there we we're window shopping in the Diamond International store. After being pecked to death by a female salesperson, I finally told her we weren't buying any jewelry today! She proceeded to call my husband cheap and lazy for not buying me jewelry. He was fuming!
Then not 10 minutes later, I was berated for not buying any Bob Marley coffee.  It seriously left a bad taste in my mouth for Falmouth. Don't even get me started on the $25 nachos at Margaritaville!

I've never been a fan of the Windjammer. After having gastric bypass a few years back, I'm pickier about what I eat now. When you can only eat a small amount, you want WHAT you eat to be good.  The Hubs loves the Windjammer breakfast. If forced to go in there, I usually just go for the fruit.   I do love the salads in the MDR. The breakfast is much better there too. The oatmeal is good.
The waiters on my cruises always get very concerned that I don't clean my plate. Usually by the 2nd or 3rd night, the Hubs explains that I had stomach surgery and can't eat much...LOL
I have even had the Matre'd come ask if the food was ok....LOL  We are sailing on Adventure Of The Seas in May.....Yes, I'm spolied. I will sure miss the Park Cafe and the yummies in the Spa Cafe too. I love the bigger ships....but this one was such a bargain. After enduring flooding from Hurricane Harvey, and 12 chemo treatments...all during recovering from Harvey....I wouldn't care if my cabin was in one of the lifeboats...as long as I got away for a few days.

I have lots of meds....with my luck, I would get the TSA agent fresh out of training who would end up strip searching me if I don't have my original bottle.

I throw all my medications and vitamins into a single small ziplock bag and haven't had any issues on flights or getting onboard.  And I take enough stuff that it looks like I'm a drug mule...
