Larry Muster got a reaction from CruiseGus in Dinning time screw up
Switching from early dining to late has never been an issue so you will be all set. It's the inverse that is sometimes a problem.

Larry Muster reacted to Zacharius in Cruise Mistakes
As long as you're physically able, one of the biggest mistakes in my book is taking elevators. Not only are they busy a lot of the time and may require a wait, but the walking and stair climbing is good for combatting the food and drink! Heck, we purposely choose a room as far from the elevators as possible.

Larry Muster got a reaction from FloatyBoaty in "The Key" yes or no? Your experience with it?
In my opinion, The Key is totally worth it for solo cruisers, especially if you were planning on buying wifi anyway. If you scoop up The Key at a price close to the voom price, it's a no-brainer.

Larry Muster reacted to twangster in Rerouting post-covid BOS/NJ/BALT
The typical re-route is from Bermuda to Canada/NE or for longer cruises Bermuda to Bahamas.
Since both require pre-boarding testing the only difference is the requirement for ArriveCAN in Canada and the travel authorization for Bermuda. It's not clear if last minute travel authorizations for thousands are within Bermuda's capabilities to process since they seem to struggle at times with normal authorization loads. ArriveCAN is potentially easier but certainly a pretty significant hindrance when looking North for an alternate port.
It's not too often you'll see a Bahamas cruise diverted to Bermuda. Bermuda and Canada are too far for short cruises from Florida. There are many closer ports to use as alternates when sailing from Florida. For 2022 I'm guessing they'll take Bermuda off the table as a candidate to be an alternate for a Caribbean or Bahamas cruise, if it ever was a viable alternate. Canada is too far to be an alternate for most Florida based cruises.
CBP will waive fines for violating the PVSA for unexpected weather related reasons that occur during a cruise. It's a different story if a ship embarks passengers knowing they will violate the PVSA. This demonstrates intent to violate the law. When it is clear they can't remain legal before the ship departs from it's home port then CBP would expect the cruise line to cancel if they can't find a suitable alternate port to remain legal.
Given the challenges with both Bermuda and Canada we may see more cancellations in 2022 if hurricanes impact Bermuda and Canada/NE.

Larry Muster reacted to WesKinetic in Question about the Deluxe Beverage Package
You can see all of your account charges in the app. It will show you where each purchase was made, but doesn't list the specific drink and will show each transaction as $0.00. So if you are really trying to determine "value", you'll either need to keep your own list of what you actually bought or just figure an average based on what you like to drink and multiply by the number of drinks showing in your account.

For something I am working on, I will need 1.21 gigawatts. Anyone know if the cabin is able to support that?

If you're looking for your TA based on OBC or an extra night of speciality dining, you're doing it wrong. You should be looking for a TA that is going to have your best interests at heart, one who is proactive and responsive and that you feel that you "gel" with. If in your search you come across an agent who isn't willing to have these types of conversations with you, you've got your answer about them.

honestly the crew all work so hard -- we often bring extra money to tip those who helped make our stay exceptional on board. an extra $1-1.50 a day is really not that bad. could save this by making coffee at home or not splurging on some snacks at the grocery store 😊

Larry Muster reacted to Traveling Mike in Annual Travel Insurance
My son got an ear infection while on the cruise. Seen the ship doctor and he let us know what was going on and gave us medicine. My health insurance paid part of it and my travel insurance paid the deductible. Norwegian Cruise Lines shorted my TA cruise from 14-day cruise to a 10-day cruise the week before we left. My travel insurance paid me for trip interception and gave me $250 a day (for the 4 days) for hotel room in London. I had the choice to do that, or they would have flown me home and paid for the ticket. Covid canceled my cruise, and I had a hotel room and outside excursion that was nonrefundable. My travel insurance refunded me the amounts. -

Only time that I've collected on my annual travel insurance policy was not on a cruise. My flight home was canceled the night before the flight. I was able to get rescheduled on a later flight, but the delay was more than 6 hours so travel insurance covered the extra rental car charge and meals that I had to pay for during the delay. If I wouldn't have been able to get on a flight that same day the insurance would have covered a hotel stay up to the per diem allowed per the policy plus food and incidentals. Note, all this is reimbursed so you have to be able to front all the extra expenses.

Larry Muster got a reaction from Lovetocruise2002 in Serenade repo Tampa-Boston great price?
Have you looked at this years repositioning of Voyager from Boston to Puerto Rico? 7 nights, as low as $274 per person. It's cheaper than staying home!
