I would love to go on a quantum class ship but have no desire to leave out of new jersey just for travel reasons and weather conditions. Port canaveral needs a quantum class ship!

So when is allure leaving? January for dry dock? Or leaving for a long term schedule overseas? (sorry, haven't checked it's cruise schedule for the future). Celebrity edge won't be there until december next year.

My september 2018 sailing on oasis is still 55 per person per day.

Also, prepaid gratuities or the 13.50 per day charge are not mandatory. You can go to guest services and cancel them if you wish to personally tip the dining staff and room keeper yourself in cash.

The prepaid gratuities covers main dining room staff and your room keeper. Not really anyone that you need to tip unless you just feel like it. Anytime you buy a drink or pay for dining at a specialty restaurant an 18% tip is automatically charged (drinks) or included in the price (special restaurants). There are bars of soap and a liquid shampoo plus conditioner. Its not the best but it works if you aren't too picky. Not many options for keeping in contact other than setting a certain time to check in. There are room phones in your rooms and some spread through out the ship that you can freely use to call each others rooms and or leave messages.

First thing. It's usually too hot to enjoy anything other than being in the water or enjoying a drink in the shade in the afternoon.

I just can't get myself to miss that first night in the main dining room. Seems like the food is always the best then everyone is in the best mood on that first night.

Celebrity edge looks to be about the same size as a freedom class ship. Pretty huge still.

I can't believe there will only be ONE ultimate family suite. It sounds awesome...and I don't have kids lol. Hooked and the sports bar sound great.

It will be hot but water will be refreshing. Bring sunscreen for sure. I've never used a guarantee cabin but you can call and change it if there is another cabin available in same category. Once you are assigned a cabin and cruise gets closer you will be able to complete online check in and fill out and print your set sail pass. Oasis class ships are awesome and there is more to do than you will be able to do in a week so don't stress and try to fit everything in. Security check opens at 10am usually, so we like to get there around 9-9:30am. I would rather get there early and hand our luggage to the porters, wait in a short line for security to open and get through that quickly. Once through security you go upstairs and wait in chairs and in air conditioning. Much nicer than arriving at 11 when its already 86 degrees outside and the line for security check is two blocks down the sidewalk. On all seven of the cruises I've been on my wife and I have been on the ship enjoying a drink and no crowds yet by 11:30 at the latest.

Don't hold your breath. I've never heard such a thing. I know some of the smaller older ships off some different things, like empress I believe has free brunch on sea days with free mimosas and bloody marys.

Same thing happened to me when I booked a cruise for next september. The price didn't take off the 50% for the second guest and the balcony discount. So we called and they changed it right away. I wonder how often this happens and gets overlooked...and if it's actually an accident on their part.

If it weren't for cruise I would probably never start a diet! Haha my wife and I both usually start dieting and doubling up gym time the few months before a cruise. I lost 20lbs before our cruise last month and gained about 7 during the 2 week span of our cruise/florida vacation. I'm really going to try harder at keeping a healthier weight and diet year round.

The new ribeye steak in the MDR was awesome, I could have eaten it every night. I think it was on night 4 of our 7 day oasis cruise last month.

Any updates on this? I have booked oasis for next september and would like to go back to red stripe beach but its still not in the cruise planner.

Sorry about your bad experience. The cruise will still be great and you'll have a little more money to spend now, and two bathrooms.

Airbnb is the way to go!

You can have as many "carry ons" as you'd like. Some people you will see rolling all their suit cases on board instead of using the luggage tags.

I have used cruisedirect.com for booking many times because at the time they were offering either more state room credit or paid gratuities or dinner in a specialty restaurant along with same price as royal caribbean's website. However, if they offer you a bottle of complimentary champagne don't get your hopes up. I have yet to receive one.

Don't do it unless you are prepared to do it every time from here on out! Wife and I always did ocean view window then had the chance to get a balcony for 100 dollars more on independence...haven't had an ocean view window room since lol.

They had buffalo trace at multiple bars on the ship but did not see the old weller. We booked the oasis again for next september 9, 2018 so I'll look for it then!

Oasis had Blanton's single barrel bourbon a couple weeks ago. I think I got my moneys worth from the drink package off that alone. So good. They even let me keep the horse stopper on top after the bottle was finished to add to my collection. (which now consists of two..not much of a collection lol)

We used parkportcanaveral a couple weeks ago. Its just a mile or so from the bridge. It was like 6.99 a day. Worked out pretty well but dealing with the shuttles is always a pain but if you have 30 minutes to spare its well worth the savings. I think its roughly 15 per day to park in the parking deck at the port but it's very convenient. We were on the extended Oasis cruise and cars made it through the hurricane with no damage. Just salt spray and sea weed lol.
