What’s in a lava flow?
It's a Pina Colada with strawberry puree running down through it (like lava). Similar to a Miami Vice but the strawberry comes from strawberry puree, not a strawberry daiquiri and not completely blended together.

Ours just validated in less than 1 day for a cruise starting in 10 days
Same thing happened to my young nieces who had theirs uploaded by my SIL about 3 weeks out. It seems the system knows when you're closer to your sail date and prioritzes those validations.

I would re-do your vax card then. It looks like something happened to it.
I assume that section is blank when you click on it?

I don't see it in the app. i did when I first uploaded it.
What exactly don't you see? There should be 4 sections under your name in the check-in section...
Travel Info, Arrival Time, Vaccination, Health & Safety
The Vaccination section disappeared?

I have uploaded my vac card in the app. Should I see any indication in the app that it is being validated after the initial upload?
There should be a "your vax is being verified" message. Then after an undetermined amount of time (it can vary greatly) it should change to a green check mark once validated (assuming there are no issues).

The RC app tells you how the date of check-in. (7 days for me! )
That's not when you can print out your cruise docs. You won't receive luggage tags until later.

Now wait a minute - I am living in NH and everyone here also wears shorts and a t-shirts. In fact, we are pulling those out when it hits 60's.
It's not a US thing, it's a Florida thing! (And other warm weather areas I'm sure.)

Nothing wrong with that @Matt. I'd probably have a light jacket on too.
Spot on.
I've been here since 2000 but born & raised outside Philly. I love wearing shorts to run into Publix when it's 50-60 and people are dressed like that.

I have a question about the Walgreens 'method'. We will be scheduling 4 tests. So will we all need a Walgreens account to get the results? Can I use my e-mail for wife and children, or do they need separate e-mail addresses on the account? Then, after the results, I can print something out to hold in my hand and carry through the terminal, right? I don't mind using phone for check in information, I've done it before, but the vaccine stuff has me stressed so I will definitely want hard copies.
You can definitely print out the results after they are e-mailed to you. It can actually be faster to have printed copies of everything (test results, set sail pass, etc.) in your hand with your passport and vax card rather than scrolling through your phone.
I won't be taking the Walgreens test until May 27th so I can't answer the other questions. I'm sure someone else can answer or you could call your local Walgreens.

I hope this is a new beginning for you and it's just the start of a long life of cruising, one of life's few great pleasures. Especially when you share it with loved ones.
Well said. I hadn't been on a single cruise until my honeymoon (wife's suggestion as she cruised as a kid).

At home is the way to go. Super easy.
Personal preference. Driving 5 mins for a free test at Walgreens is pretty easy for me.

Stupid bridge. I'd drive to Tampa but don't care for smaller ships.
-
Personal preference. I like to be closer to the areas I spend more time at which will of course be different for everyone. Generally speaking, I like to be somewhere in the middle as far as decks goes, so I'm more or less halfway between say the Promenade or Central Park (if Oasis class) and the higher decks. I'd rather walk 5 flights than wait for an elevator (opinion formed pre-covid).

That's funny. My wife has always just "laminated" them using clear packing tape. This time she declared "no more taping" and ordered an 8-pack of those to split with her parents.

Enjoy!
Wife and I will be on Indy in July. Have only been on that class of ship once and it was a while ago. Looking forward to revisiting it.

Don't bring anything valuable with you off the ship or have someone in your party take turns watching the bag.
I bring a waterproof phone holder and keep it and my ID/SeaPass/cash/credit cards with me when I do any water activities off of the ship.
This is what we do. I have a smaller one for just cards too if I don't feel the need to bring my phone.

You actually don't even need to print luggage tags. The porters have blanks and will fill in your room info that you give them.
This is true although I'd rather not waste time bothering with that at the port.

You don't NEED to print it, you can use the app and/or take a screen shot or save it to your Apple wallet (if iPhone) for quicker access.
You can also rely on an e-mail of your covid test results.
You do need to print luggage tags of course.
All that said, many people choose to print out those items anyway b/c it can actually be faster to just have the printed versions in hand along with your passport and vax card rather than spending time scrolling through your phone. Sometimes the old fashioned way still works better but your call.

Walgreens is also free and drive-thru if that's an option for you.
In my area at least, you have to actually see a medical professional at CVS for a rapid test now in their "Minute Clinic" but that may be different elsewhere. I've planned on using Walgreens all along so not 100% on CVS.
