Just got off the Wonder of the Seas and had a great time. I have been cruising since a teenage and always liked cooler weather and cooler on the ship especially when the stops are in the Caribbean.  I was thinking because of a newer ship maybe it would be kept cooler, but didn't seem like it. I have been on other Oasis classes, but most public area's and even our cabin didn't seem to get as cold like they use to.  Is it me that just feels like this or has anyone noticed over the years?  Bringing my little mini fan helps in the cabin for sure.

Did you keep a card in the slot that you have to for your cabin A/C to keep running even when you left?

We've had warmer and cooler rooms over the years. Our interiors usually feel colder than balcony rooms when sailing the Caribbean in the summer (one of several reasons we like them).

Be aware that dummy bookings or people shopping an itinerary will impact visible cabin inventory.  The website will hold back a cabin for a time period if someone was in the middle of booking but did not complete.  Think it as the cabin has to be “re-shelved” for display.  The only way to know exactly how many rooms are open is talking with a travel agent or Royal.

TA's can also place cabins on hold for 7 days or even longer. For example, my TA currently has a cabin on hold for me for 11 days because as I was getting close to the final decision, he was about to go on vacation for 5 days. He was willing to book it for me while on his vacation but since he was able to get an extended hold, we decided to just take care of it when he returns.

Old design is like crystal, it can be displayed most anywhere and look sheik and classic. The new design, adding color makes it a decorating issue and looks more like a post card.

I got my first block last year (old style although there are now 3 fonts for that style) and agree.

That said, mine is still in its box. Maybe if I ever got to the point of having a true collection I'd care but that wouldn't possibly happen for a very long time so whatever.

Bah. I guess my app isn't updated with that stuff. Tons of the buttons in the toolbar don't bring up anything. Maybe once I get on the ship, it'll all sort out.  I'm so used to NOT using the app on carnival, I just didn't bother with the RC app.

FWIW, CK always serves filet mignon on night 1 and it is very good, so if it fits your plans, I recommend trying to get a reservation for the first night.

Massive difference IMHO. Giovanni's table has a smaller, less tasty menu. The kitchen version has pizza, better pasta, the Meatball Gigante and these amazing garlic knots.

To each their own. Giovanni's Table has always been our favorite specialty restaurant. Never had a bad meal there.

I know this is an old post, but I couldn't find any answers.  What is the difference between Giovanni's Table and Kitchen?  I had Giovanni's on Freedom and really enjoyed it!  Didn't care for Jamie's.

The menus and venue appearances are different. Giovanni's Kitchen also has an attached wine bar.

Huge fan of Giovanni's Table, never tried Kitchen although I have read mostly positive reviews.

You can find the menus in the app.

You know I just don't get why people make a thing about this. If I visited the same restaurant night after night, I wouldn't think anything of having a different table or waiter.

If you get personable waitstaff who take the time to chat and you get to know them, it can be nice. They might also remember things like always having a bowl of strawberries waiting for a young child or whatever. It's not a huge deal but there are little things like that which make it different than just going to restaurant.

Personally, I haven't been a fan of the MDR itself for a long time but I could appreciate some of the personal touches back when I did eat there every night.

As with most cruise-related topics... to each his own.

can confirm; we just got one while here on harmony and it was delicious!!

I'm jealous. Glad you liked it.

My actual favorite margarita is the Goalpost Margarita at Playmakers (jalapeno pineapple). The bar attached attached to El Loco Fresh also has one with pretty much the same description so I'm assuming that's pretty much the same thing as well but haven't tried it yet. I'll find out next month on Wonder. (Yes, I know Harmony doesn't have either, just decided to go off on a margarita tangent).

Could always do a specialty restaurant for lunch as another option

We ate there for dinner last May but we had an excellent meal at Sabor. The highlights were the chips n guac, the appetizers, and the desserts, so it may be better for lunch anyway (I don't know how the lunch menu differs off the top of my head). Oh, and if you like spicy, the jalapeno margaritas were great too (they also have others of course).

We sailed on Wonder last week and the internet was pretty decent, had a few moments where some web sites would take a little bit to load but for the most part it didn't make me want to pull my hair out . I was even able to stream game 6 of the Panther vs Bruins game on my phone with no issues 😃

I believe I read that every cabin on Wonder has its own access point so I guess that should help for in cabin connectivity.

P.S. No issues b/c the stream was good or b/c you were rooting for the Panthers? 🤣

You can link your reservations on the website if you have the name and reservation number. Just know that that while you will be able to check in both reservations, they will need to be done separately. Don’t do your check in and think the other reservation is good to go

    This.

I am going to Coco Cay in August with a big group and we are just doing the Oasis Lagoon pool area.  I am hoping that is nice because I have two future cruises after this one with stops at Coco Cay

Check out the different areas around the pool. Some are louder than others (proximity to the DJ), some are closer or farther from Chill Grill, the nearest snack shack, the Oasis bar, etc. Your group may prefer one spot to another based on personal preference.

My wife and I now have a favorite spot where we have camped out on our last 3 trips to CocoCay. We had a OTW Cabana last May which was great and we enjoyed the Beach Club food (this was courtesy of my generous FIL on a family cruise) but we have just as much fun and enjoy the included food without spending a penny (besides tipping for Diamond drinks).

I have no idea who that is, but I witnessed MDR with my own eyes and stomach and it was just fine.

If I went by others' opinions instead of my own preferences and experiences, I'd stay away from the WJ, especially on embarkation day, because it's ALWAYS crowded.

I haven't been a fan of the MDR for quite a while, long before covid let alone menu changes and YouTube reviews (that said, I've had some meals there that were perfectly fine). To each his own...

I absolutely recommend getting two adjoining balconies that have a removable partition instead.

They're especially great when sailing with extended family and your young nieces decide to let themselves into your cabin via the balcony since they can be opened from the outside so as not to lock oneself out there. We used the extra inside lock after that. 🤣

Does anyone have feedback on dining with egg, sesame, beef and nut allergies. Curious what options they have for teens? I think my teen would love El Loco Fresh and Sorrento's but do not know ahead of time of these are safe options. Has anyone with these or some allergies eaten here or are you only allowed ro eating thr MDR? TYIA!!

My young niece (now 9) has severe peanut, tree nut, sesame allergies. The MDR, CK, WJ, and Sabor were all very accommodating on Harmony last May. That said, she was 8 and doesn't exactly eat many things. At Sabor, they even brought out the bag with the ingredient list of the gluten free tortilla chips for my sister-in-law to check.

I'm sure your teen would have a great experience at venues like that but I'm not sure about the quick service venues like El Loco Fresh or Sorrento's since they run like an assembly line. I trust that a food manager could give you info about them but I'm not sure if they would be able to make anything special to avoid cross-contamination like they can in the other venues (i.e. my niece loves hot dogs and they would make them special for her in the WJ to assure there was no cross-contamination rather than having her just grab one off the buffet).

Hopefully someone can give you a more specific answer. There is no El Loco Fresh on Harmony and she wasn't interested in pizza.
