I haven't tried any glass soda bottles but I regularly bring on glass bottles of wine and would be surprised if you'd have any issue. All experiences I have had with bringing beverages on has been pretty lax (no one seems to be counting beverages or inspecting them too closely). Curious though if anyone knows for sure.

There have been instances where Royal has awarded additional points for additional days caused by the ship staying out because of a hurricane.  (And the subsequent shortened sailing still got the original number of points).

They are everywhere. You will never have to worry about where to find them. Even when you are having a nice quiet dinner they will be right there to interrupt it.

We always tip on top of the pre-paid gratuities when warranted. A couple of bucks here and there go a long way and the hardest workers aren't always the ones who get the lions share of the tips. That's just us.

It would certainly help make up for a vacation unexpectedly being derailed ... although I fully understand it is not really the cruise lines' fault if a ship is quarantined and wouldn't necessarily expect it if I were in that situation. 

I can't help but think that having an Oasis ship in Galveston might mean we see cheaper fares compared to the current FL itineraries since there seems to be less demand there? I think it would be a nice change. I also really enjoyed sailing out of Galveston on Vision earlier this year. 

Oh, then you HAVE to book at least a 4-night cruise so you can enjoy being Diamond on Adventure! ?

One packing tip is to pack Downy Wrinkle Releaser spray! You can buy 3oz travel sizes of them. They are a lifesaver since there are no irons allowed in the staterooms on board the ship.

If I had to bet on what ship would replace anthem, I’d go with the 5th quantum class ship they have on order. It should be complete right as anthem goes back. 

That's not a bet I'd take. Very short timeline to work out any plan for getting a new terminal building and modifying the harbor to accommodate an Oasis class ship, then actually building said new terminal building, doing whatever dredging or pier changes would be required, etc. 18 months is long to us, but just looking at the progress with Perfect Day, or the construction of the new terminal building in Miami, I'd be very dubious about getting a project like that done in time when there isn't even a formal contract yet with Galveston.

That's a lot of extra weight for just 4 more passengers! 

I'd love to see options in Colorado but sadly will have to wait for a major rise of ocean levels before a cruise ship will be home porting anywhere near me.
