  1. Past hour
  2. It was great when everyone didn't know about it because a few people would bring ducks and, if you didn't know about the trend, it would be fun to find one. Now it's reaching the point where it's becoming too big of a thing so there are hundreds of ducks on every ship. There are some real Scrooges out there who really hate it. I'm not one of them. I love the idea and it's fun for kids. But there's a fine line between a fun little treasure hunt and dozens of people bringing what can sometimes be hundreds of ducks and there being ducks everywhere. Now, there are ducks from previous cruises visible in inaccessible places. I feel like, if it gets much bigger, Royal will have to do something to limit it. No idea how they would do it, but once ducks start being left everywhere and dropped into art installations and on top of elevators, etc., it goes beyond its original intention.
  3. For a couple of reasons. First, loyalty benefits are there to drive bookings. With drink packages as part of the cruise booking bundle, there needs to be something a little extra to encourage Celebrity bookings if drink vouchers make a debut on X. Having the vouchers go up to those drinks is a nice perk with a drink package. Without any data, it'd make the premium package feel like it's more inclusive and make the classic (? can't recall the name) feel less restrictive. Thus, encouraging bookings with the inclusions. Second, on Royal, at Diamond it saves at least $5 pp per day, $2 pp per day at Diamond+, and would cost Royal an extra $1 pp per day at Pinnacle if someone actually had that many $17 beverages as they'd be entitled to. This makes increasing the voucher value, with decreasing their number, a net positive on the Royal side while sounding like a good trade to the general public.
  4. I'll be on Harmony next week, and will see if they have any "wood cut-out in the shape of the ship" magnets.
  5. Adult comedy is most important, IMO, due to the small venue. Never had trouble walking into anything else standby.
  6. you really only need them for the aqua show. they will be checking your reservations as you sit sown. For mama Mia its always good to reserve but you can just walk in (Mama Mia is fantastic)
  7. We chose Utopia in October and booked a balcony upgrade for about $200.
  8. i do find this part fascinating because - we typically drink chandon sparkling wine on royal. it falls under the $14 threshold — again, it’s a nice sparkling wine. on celebrity, it’s $17. for reference, a bottle of chandon costs about $24. so they are considering it a “premium” when it really… isn’t. and i understand the convenience factor and everything; obviously we can just bring a bottle of it on board ourselves. but it makes me wonder how many other of their wines/beverages fall into that category. like yes, a handcrafted martini at the martini bar with the special tricks and pouring skills — that’s a performance on top of a beverage. i understand that. but X lumps in premium water (evian, acqua panna, pellegrino) at the $17 cap and you can’t get unless you have a premium package — ie, you can’t get for happy hour, even though it’s nowhere near $17 a bottle. (or a water package) i understand thats probably more to discourage people from grabbing endless bottles of "free" water during happy hour — but the long winded point of this is that i think some of their thresholds — $14 for basic drinks and $17 for premium — is a bit murky. if it were based on top shelf liquors, yes, okay — i understand that completely. but it isn't. and obvs they have the right to set their prices at whatever they'd like. it would be interesting to see a comparison between the two (an old fashioned costs $14 on royal and $17 on X, for example) just to get a better understanding of this.
  9. Sorry, that was unclear, I'll go back and edit. The door inside the cabin that connects the two rooms closes automatically. It's not locked because we asked that it be opened. It's just really heavy and opens into our room blocking off the area around that side of the bed and the bathroom. The door between the balconies was opened and locked into place by this little thing.
  10. In the end I think we're mind melding a lot of changes that the RC IT system simply isn't prepared to handle.
  11. The highest level drink package on Celebrity doesn't cover all the way to those prices, so why would you expect the vouchers to do so?
  12. This is where the issue of IT figuring it out comes into play. Not exactly a soothing thought.
  13. Today
  14. So…the connecting door can’t stay open? Is there a reason why? I was hoping it would since I will be in Symphony in a few weeks with my daughter and her 2 sons…I have my older grandson with me. I was thinking I could go out early in the morning for my walk and have the connecting door open. No?
  15. Here are pics of the cabins. 12152 has the bed closest to the door. I asked 12150 to have the beds separate, but it really makes it tight between the bed and balcony door. @Carlos A. the last picture is the divider open. The connecting door (inside the cabin) is nice, but I wish there was a way that we could keep it open if we wanted.
  16. Its a 'thing' started by passengers. Not RC sponsored. People buy ribber ducks from Amazon, Dollar Stores etc. Often they put tags on them saying 'Con-quack-ulationas' and other cute things. They hide the ducks around ship. Just not in pools or bathrooms. People hunt for them as a pass time (especially kids). If found, you can re-hide them for some one else to find or keep them. Some people will bring hundreds of ducks with them on the cruise to hide. On Amazon you can find packages of hundreds of ducks. The variety is endless. Star Wars ducks, Cowboy ducks .... whatever. There is a Facebook page dedicated to Cruising Ducks. There is a similar initiative for people that drive Jeep Wranglers.. You often see ducks perched inside the windshield. If you see a Jeep you like, You leave them a duck on the hood where the owner can find it. Some nice Jeeps had enormous collections of ducks. It seems kinda foolish yet fun.
  17. Here is the basic process ... Photographers are pretty much everywhere at opportune moments. You can have them take your photo, or not. They collect your room info. Within 24 hours, you go to the photo 'store' on board and there will be a touch screen kiosk. Follow the instructions to see all they photos that have been taken. Select the ones to want to purchase, or not. You can opt for digital sent to you or prints you can pick up. It takes a few hours before the prints are available. Your room account is charged or you prepay for a package in advance. So ... there are no limits as to how many you can have taken. That cost nothing. Only pay for the ones you want to keep. Our experience has been mixed with the quality of the individual photo. Sometimes its the subject, sometimes the photographer. Sometimes you get a great photo.
  18. Sorry may be a dumb question i have watched a couple of youtube Vids on RC and there is this thing with finding Ducks is it a scavenger hunt or something? is there a prize? is it run by the Ship? so What the Duck?
  19. Day 14 Valencia Spain Excursion: Valencia, city of flowers
  20. Day 12 2nd port stop Malaga Spain village of mijas excursion
  21. Excursions day 11 first port of call Seville Cadiz Spain Cadiz Jerez and sherry cellars
  22. I’ve been trying to find information on this and can’t find any information anywhere. Not too happy about the change, really put a damper on our honeymoon. We were very excited to go to PR & DR.
  23. SIMPLY PERFECT MARGARITA Sabor NOTE: Don't forget to add 0.5 oz of sugar syrup.
  24. We must have the same friend, they wanted me to ask the same question (OK so we're, sorry they're a little way off Elite plus)
  25. My son and I got those snorkel masks for our two PDCC trips last year- he loved it. He hated the mouth piece on a regular snorkel mask, but these things had him face down in the water for hours in PDCC and Cozumel last year!
  26. Now You can even look at them directly on the app right after they are taken. Zip line, rock wall, carousel,...stuff like that. We saw them quite a bit in the evening around the mini golf and rock walls, you'll see them just roaming the promenade and up on the decks...you'll see them as soon as you get off the ship at the ports and roaming Coco cay....
