Did they stop renting jet skis at cococay

Was just looking/thinking about booking for my son and his friend who are 18.....but don't see them in cruise planner?  All sold out or something they don't do anymore?

There is a lawsuit against Royal currently as a woman got severely injured during the Jet Ski excursion at Coco Cay.  That’s most likely why.

It’s like a motorcycle, offers no protection. People are risking a severe spinal injury or worse on these machines.

Waivers don't make them immune from all accountability when they make a mistake like they may have recently when an employee/guide ran into a guest.

The lawsuit says the guide literally ran her over. 

In a couple years maybe we find out the truth to that one.

That's what the courts will figure out......now back to me, me ,me....I actually asked RC and the response was "Well they may be sold out or they may not be available"...so useless which means I am literally stuck checking the planner now daily for months to see if they ever become available to rent

I have a sailing to PDCC coming up next week and I never saw the Jet Skis as an option (mind you I check the planner almost daily for new options/deals). I've been booked since mid November and as far as I'm aware the lawsuit/accident occurred late December.

While I imagine the lawsuit is probably one reason they don't have them as an option, there may be another reason, given they never showed up even prior to the incident. That's just speculation on my part though.

So update here......while it was not available online, calls to RC where unfruitful....downloaded a fresh copy of the app this evening and look at that.....jet skis available for booking.  Based on how they are last in list in the APP....I'm willing to bet pagination is broken on their cruise planner site....aka....the last item in their list isn't appearing because it exceeds what can be displayed on 1 page in their site design.

Sure enough I see it after clearing my app cache and logging back in on the app (I'm on Android). Consequently I also see the Glass Bottom Boat excursion for PDCC as well.

I'd never book the jet ski personally as we have one at home but I guess it's a good idea to clear out your data/cache for the app (or completely reinstall, to the same effect) so you can see what you might be missing haha.

So on my upcoming Dec cruise the jet skis are not shown for Coco Cay but they are shown for Labadee.

Just so you are aware.  I have previously booked this excursion and had it canceled because of "weather".  Although, it was literally "a Perfect Day at Coco Cay".  Apparently, they don't run them during low tide.  They said it can't go past a sand bar.  We were very disappointed, I would have changed my time to a higher tide time, had I known.

Just an FYI, today at Labadee 0 wave runners were used today.

It was literally a Perfect Day in Labadee. Calm seas, low humidity, full sun, and 82 degrees.
