Club Royale Perks: Wine, S&S Credits exc

I wonder if this is a ship specific thing. I thought it was points specific. I have gotten nice wine, the card and chocolates only on Freedom. But in October and Jan I got a lot of points on Allure/Wonder and received nothing.

Maybe it is the ship & specifically based on the casino host? I’ve also received random comps for speciality dining and bottles of wine delivered to MDR.

There is a lot more to their system beyond points and their official status tiers.  They share information with their casino partners, and if they see you as a potential "sucker", err I mean "spender", they will open up to you with great offers.  I say this because I am only a lonely prime member, but I often get offers from Royal for balconies and suites usually with $300 to $500 of freeplay if I use their GTY bookings for these rooms.  I have been given specialty dining and wine a few times as a welcome gift onboard.

Yes, I am signature and get $750-$1000 free play offers (next one Liberty in July) but talking specifically onboard perks. I’ve noticed either the program has changed or the company has tightened up because I’m not getting decent perks onboard lately.

We don't get anything from the casino either.  Once, when we were on a TA, the Casino Host(ess) gave us a complimentary specialty meal but that's it.  I don't want anything though....I get enough of the cheap wine/champagne and over-ripe fruit from C&A.  Just send me some *#$@#% offers !

This is totally true! I want more offers!!

I want better offers🤣😆.

I've been getting around 1-2 offers a month since they "fixed" my address. But it's a lot of buy 1 guest get one free for Oasis class ships that aren't of value to me. I have two offers and both are for Utopia and Allure's short sailings in July and August......I don't sail during those months.

Me either.  I haven’t gotten a snail mail offer in more than a year.  ….but then, I don’t get any offers except for those that we win onboard…😢😢

@Ampurp85 sailed in my cabin with me once and we started getting Casino Royale mailers in her name at my address 😂

I've never gotten a physical mailer, just email ones but they dried up again on me.

We also got a mailer for Celebrity for some random person we have never heard of...Royal IT never fails.

Which types (mailers, onboard offers) are normally the “best”? To this day, I still can’t navigate this program because it’s all over the place.

For me the ones that include Freeplay. Since I am prime only and average about 2k a sailing, my offers are mostly interiors and OV. But they can include $25/50 Freeplay. Currently 3/7 offers are the "get 1 complementary guest when you buy one" and those imho are the worst offers.

Pretty similar to me.  Those comp plus buy 1 are beyond worthless.  You can usually get the 2 full price fare through your agent for cheaper than the 1 comp + casino rate.

I have never gotten anything sent complimentary to my cabin courtesy of the casino. Not surprised as I barely make Prime over 40-50 days sailed in a year 😆

Us too...  We're both Prime and we've never received any Casino cruise (other than our yearly, or what we've "won" during a sailing) offers/food offers/ etc...  I think (maybe) it's because we have a bunch of cruises already booked?

We actually booked one of the “complimentary for one person” offers recently.  It was the oddest thing…so long as we stuck with the interior offer, it included both of us.  When I tried to upgrade to a higher category, suddenly they wanted to charge for person #2.  So for the first time ever, we have an interior booked !  Yikes !  I plan on hitting the RU HARD when it comes around.  It’s only a 4 night on Indy, so I guess I would survive if I don’t get any upgrade….but I won’t be happy !

Wow, that's the first time I've ever heard of anyone getting a double comp on one of those offers.  I'll usually ask about one of those offers if I'm already calling in to redeem another just to see the extra amount to compare to full fare and have a good laugh.

I’d never heard of it either….and they had several chances to withdraw it as I kept having them check various upgrade prices….but every time they came back to the interior offer, the price included both of us.  I finally just surrendered and took the full comp.

We're going on one of those on Freedom in April...  we got a RU to a Spacious Ocean View ($150 RU).

@WAAAYTOOO I am confused a bit. Did you combine the complementary offers and only pay taxes and fees? Or did you both go solo in the room and it was free? I should clarify that I am talking about the BOGO offers and not just the free interiors.

The offer I highlighted is the type I think @WAAAYTOOO is referring to.  image.thumb.png.306475b4203dd6517208abc934d15534.png

@Ampurp85, the offer was, indeed, one of the "1 comp guest and the other comp guest gets a casino discounted rate".  I didn't combine anything on this one....it was just a straight-up offer that came through ClubRoyaleOffers.com.  In this particular case, it was Dan's offer which meant that I should have paid a casino discounted rate (in which case I would have declined and we would not have booked) but for reasons which I cannot explain, as long as I stuck with the free interior, both of our fares were complimentary.  I've never seen it happen like that before - ever.

Nothing in this snipped image says that it was a "BOGO" offer (unless you can decipher the offer code, which I certainly canNOT) but you will just have to take my word for it that it was.  When I asked the CSR about upgrading this offer to ANY other cabin category, suddenly they were going to charge me for my fare...but as long as I stuck with the original interior offer (which is what the below is), my fare was also complimentary. As you can see, all I paid were the taxes/port fees and gratuities.

I fully suspect that this was an error on the part of the CSR but I will never know b/c I finally just conceded and kept the original "free" offer that they kept coming back to.  As you know, I will NOT be happy in an interior so I will hit the RoyalUp hard when it finally comes around (this booking is for Indy 6-6-24 so it shouldn't be too long).  In the end, it will probably cost me about the same as it would have if I had just agreed to pay to the upgraded fare (LOL) but it was the principle of the thing....

Thanks @WAAAYTOOO I was thinking about taking advantage of one of the offers, but I would be solo in the room and was wondering what the price might be. I am fine with interiors, so it would be no big deal.

Actually, these BOGO offers are perfect for a single cruiser....it's just a straight-up full comp as far as I know.  Do you think they would try and charge you for a second person even if there was no second person ?  I hadn't thought about that....but it's just like Royal to do something that stupid....similar to what they do on a RU... ?

When those offers first came out, I read a post that they were charging a single supplement, so now every time I get one, I was disregarding it. The wait can be long with club royale, so I didn't want to waste my time. But if it is a full comp, I would be more inclined.

Hmmmm....like I said, it hadn't occurred to me that they would try and charge a supplement for a non-existent second passenger...but nothing really surprises me with Royal these days.  I think it would definitely be worth your time to check into it though, the next time you see one.  When you do, let us know...

I booked the Joker's Wild July offer as a solo.

I often don't cruise in July since it's blacked out for the DP340 reduced single supplement.  I saw the casino offer as a means to book solo in July.

The offer was explained to me this way -  the casino player can get a complimentary cabin fare but they must pay for the 2nd guest's fare based on casino friend and family rates.  Since I was solo I had to pay for the 2nd guests fare even though there is no 2nd guest.

As opposed to free cruise offers based on points the July Joker's offer requires the 2nd guest fare be paid.

Given that July is a peak month and difficult to book as a solo without paying 200% supplement I chose to pay a modest amount for my non-existent second.

It came out to about half what I paid for Liberty last week which was a non-casino last minute deal.  So while it's not a free cruise, it's a rate I haven't seen in a long time in a peak month when I can't normally afford to sail.

Casino had to call revenue mgmt to get a GTY authorized for a solo.  I haven't had a lot of success with this lately but the casino team got it approved so I'm getting some extra free play.  I'm also paying port fees and taxes for one.

It did not require a Book Later NextCruise booking.

I'm glad you got a good deal....but what a lame program that claims to be Complementary Cruise Fare for One !  ....and then forces you to pay for a second, non-existent companion.  I just hate the way they market something and then it turns out to be something different, entirely.  It's gonna be hot in July !  LOL

Book it online from your offers page..they come back with an invoice and you can decide whether you want to accept or not. If you don't want it and want to check out another sailing pricing with the offer then you can call. I redeemed a couple of those BOGO offers (before they cut my offers off again) and it was surprisingly cheap. I ended up with a 4 night solo sailing for $300 total which is better than I can usually do booking with no casino interference.

This was exactly my experience with the bogo offer when I tried to get around it by booking solo once too.  I was quoted full casino fare for the non-existent person, but taxes/port fees for 1.

You do make a good argument for their usefulness as a solo cruiser during a high demand time though.

Good advice as well.  I'll do this when the offer is just a gty and I don't have a strong urge to try and upgrade, but I still like to call in when the offer allows me to pick my room (or I'm really curious about upgrade prices).

Are you calling the club royale prime number?  I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 mins since I made prime and started using that number.  In fact the vast majority of the time there is no wait.  I usually call late afternoons (in fact I just booked another offer today about an hour ago after a less than 1 min wait).

I don't think I have waited more than 5 minutes or so either using the casino number.

As Signature with Club Royale, we will typically get at least 1 bottle of wine, a bottle of champagne, and a plate of fruit from Club Royal on a 7-N.

Right now I have 7 distinct free cruise offers.  I typically get a mailer every other week showing a specific offers and what ships & dates apply. Even though we sail about every 6 weeks and earn 5000-7000 points, our free offers have been cut back mostly to 4/5 nights from 7-N on far fewer ships.

I noticed in February the Instant Cruise Certificate points for a Jr Suite went up from 6500 to 9000 pts.  6500 was very doable.  9000 will be a stretch in April on the Harmony.

These are certainly dis-incentiving my future play.

I am running about the same (points wise) but we don’t cruise every 6 weeks. I am getting the standard issue cheap wine, cheap champs and the fruit. I seriously think the company needs to up the ante on the program if they want to keep the higher level players active.
