Ampurp85
Hello all, I have some questions. I know on the CP you can purchase a birthday package that includes decorations and cake. But in the gifts and gear you can just purchase the cake, is this the same cake? Can you request a cake onboard? Like instead of having it delivered day one, can you request a full cake on a later date? How does the cake taste? Royal desserts are often really bad, I would hate to spend $30 on a disgusting chocolate cake. Thanks
jbrinkm
I don't know if it is the same cake, but I bought a birthday package for the first time & we'll be eating the cake on March 23, so I can report back then as to how it is. I really hope that it is not disgusting. Ampurp85, ScottD and PPPJJ-GCVAB 2

FionaMG
Going back to just before covid now but we were invited to a birthday celebration on Adventure. The chocolate cake was fantastic. Yummy ! Ampurp85
Pattycruise
I've seen the cakes in La Patisserie on Anthem for sale. Never tried to order one. My daughter just had the birthday package on Anthem (thank you Royal for the BS with the BF sales and buying her a chocolate cake and decorations as an apology!). I'm not a huge cake fan, but it was OK (from me that's like a rave?). It seemed the other 7 people enjoyed it-even my husband who is a vanilla cake guy. Do yourself a favor, pack your own cake plates and forks, or get them from Windjammer, The cake was delivered with 2 plates and 2 fork sets which was not enough for us ChessE4 and Ampurp85 1

From memory there were two sizes and one was $30 and the other $50. Ampurp85 and Pattycruise 1
ChessE4
Our experience is that the cake was good, but it wasn't delivered on the requested day. We ordered the cake a la carte, no decorations. Ampurp85

It was pretty good. Very moist, which is what I find missing in most of Royal's cakes. It tasted like a normal chocolate cake, although the chocolate decorations gave it a bit more "pop." We nibbled on it for about 4 days before it started to get stale. WAAAYTOOO, Ampurp85, OCSC Mike and 1 other 3
OCSC Mike
That looks like the cake they brought my MIL in CK on Wonder last June (we only asked for a slice with a candle) with slightly different decoration colors. It was also pretty good. Neesa and jbrinkm
