michelle
Hi All Since I do not smoke - I know they have designated areas for smokers on the ships but does anyone know of Oasis areas for sure that you can tell me about? For Cigar smoking? Thanks in advance ArdmxurTild
firegal2539
I found this on Royal's site. Cigar and pipe tobacco is limited to designated outdoor areas and Cigar Bars. Cigarette, cigar, e-cigarette and pipe smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas of the starboard side of all ships; with the exception of Oasis-class ships that will allow smoking on the port side of the ships. To assist in locating areas where smoking is permitted, guests will find visible signage posted within all smoking areas and ashtrays that are provided for use. Outdoor areas near restricted areas, food venues, and kids play areas and pools will not allow smoking. On Oasis class, smoking is not permitted in Central Park or the Boardwalk neighborhoods. Hope this helps.
arebee
Its been a few years but I thought the Oasis had a cigar in Central Park.
WAAAYTOOO
No, to my knowledge there is nowhere except for the port side of the ship on the pool deck for smoking cigars. There is no connoisseur club on the O class. That, I know.
Matt
On Oasis class, I think you are relegated to where all smokers go. Navigator of the Seas had a cigar bar.
Todd
I know Oasis class ships do not travel to Asia.... yet. But here the Royal Smoking policy is much more liberal, with smoking allowed in many more areas, including the balcony of your cabin. tonyfsu21
^^^^ I for one wish we could still smoke cigars on the cabin balconies! That was such a relaxing thing to do and I miss it very much. monctonguy and Galveston Steve

And as the guy in the cabin next to you...thank God it's banned. Your hobby is smoking. The by-product of which is smoke, which stinks up my clothes, my hair, and generally makes it hard to breathe. My hobby is drinking beer. The by-product of which is urine. Would it be alright if I peed in your clothes, in your hair, and into your nose? tonyfsu21
@bcarney- with all due respect its not even a hobby it's just something I like to do on vacation to relax. If the S&P 500 continues to produce for me I will smoke my cigars on the balcony and just pay the fines with a smile:) so I hope you don't end up next to me. Tony You just need to travel to Asia and the Welcome to smoking signs will be out for you. I do not smoke and try to stay away from it. But it is available and very open here, like many other things that a not PC correct in the West.

firegal2539
I have to agree with bcarney here. I am allergic to cigar smoke and I have told several people that were smoking them that and they don't care. One just told me to move, which I did. If I had on perfume that someone was allergic to and mentioned it to me I would head for the ladies room to try to wipe it off with a damp towel. I don't want to make anyone sick. The issue of my clothes smelling is bad. I can't wear them again because they smell like I spent the night in a bar. I understand it is something you enjoy but you need to think of other people when you're doing it.
tonyfsu21
@firegal: I understand your concerns but it does bring on some questions. 1. By enjoying smoking a cigar in an open air environment I dont see how the smoke affects your clothing any more than a person walking down the street smoking on a cigar. Perhaps I'm wrong? 2. There are areas inside the ship where people smoke such as the casino. Is it possible your clothing smells because of the casino? 3. It's a non issue as far as a cruise ship is concerned within the USA since there is no smoking permitted on balconies. I do understand your issues as I too hate smoking and the thought of a cigarette makes me want to vomit. In 2016 you have to be pretty uninformed to be a smoker knowing full well it causes cancer. I "did" however enjoy smoking a celebratory cigar (no inhaling ever) a couple times on my cruise ship balcony when I sail .
