mworkman
I just read on another site that if you apply all your FCC on a cruise without placing any money from your pocket, that you will not receive C&A points for that cruise, as it’s considered a free cruise. I don’t see how that’s possible since that is your money. It’s just been converted to FCC, but I don’t know if there is some hidden clause in receiving a converted funds to FCC, I haven’t researched that at this point. Maybe someone here can provide some insight on FCC, to dispel this rumor.
Ampurp85
This is must only be a rumor, as you still pay taxes and port fees regardless. Maybe if you had a certificate that constitutes a free cruise...maybe. But C&A rules state you get points for every cruise you take. FCC while no longer real money, has value, It is not a free cruise but a postponed one. Plus the casinos give free-ish cruises so that makes no sense. twangster
Historically there some rare occasions such as a Pinnacle free cruise where you only paid ports fees and taxes that didn't qualify for CAS points. This was well known and stated upfront. Perhaps there were some other free cruises through Casino or other programs where you didn't get CAS points unless there was some monetary outlay for upgrading above the free cabin type that saw a lack of CAS points. However and having said that... I have to imagine that anyone who is claiming 100% FCC covered CV-19 cruises won't get CAS points is guessing, worrying, extrapolating or assuming because no cruises that have are covered by CWC or any other CV-19 related FCC have actually sailed. Until cruises resume no one, absolutely no one has experience to declare how CAS points will be handled for these cruises. If someone has RCI policy that states otherwise please provide it now. jticarruthers
I know my TA deliberately underapplied my FCC to leave $1 due on each passenger when i rebooked for September (Had it happen once before years ago so i knew why and didnt question if she was doing it because she knew it was still that way or just assumed it was still that way). I just paid my $2.36 bill for final payment this week $2 in fare, 36 cents in taxes and fees .... Hoski
Every cruise we have taken with Royal has been a casino cruise and most were free but we receive C&A points and are diamond. We would be diamond plus except for canceled cruises. Neesa
