  1. My upcoming cruise I got the package, our itinerary is port Canaveral which we more than likely won’t get off the ship, Nassau and Coco Cay (those delightful coco locos are included). So really just one day in which I won’t fully be participating so for me I will definitely get my moneys worth. I would definitely think hard about if we were on a more port intensive cruise.
  2. I look at this similary to sharing the drink package. If an area is for suite guests only than imo you would be taking up space and potentially views of those that paid for that experience. Others may disagree just my two cents
  3. While I think drink sharing played a factor in this change, I don’t think it was the main reason for this change. I think Royal is just falling in line with the other lines and in a way guaranteeing themselves more profit. If people stop buying the package because of it and the bottom line is affected they may rethink this strategy (which I hope), because I’m not sure my wife will get her money’s worth out of the refreshment package.
  4. I agree on formal night I wear a shirt and tie I’ve given up bringing a suit, but after a day on the beach I’ll wear a nice pair of khaki shorts and a polo. Anybody is free to stare at me it’s my vacation.
  5. They added the 18% gratuity when you purchased the dining package.
  6. They will probably have the game on in the pub, there is no sports bar. Go Birds
  7. Actually the refreshment package is the minimum for other adults in the room. On sale the best I’ve seen is $18 a day.
  8. Or you can go with the thought that you’ll never see any of those people again.
  9. I’m sure he will look fine, some people wear T-shirts on formal night. I wouldn’t worry about it especially if it’s not something he would much in the future.
  10. Each adult is allowed 2 bottles without having to pay a tax. I don’t remember if their are size restrictions on the bottles.
  11. Smelling like chlorine is better than flying for hours with sand you know where lmao ?
  12. Too many people ignoring the “no reservation” stickers on the pool chairs.
  13. Does the Imessage work on other ships as well without zoom? Adventure for example
  14. If you are talking about Anthem then they are right next to each other, they will seat you at the first open table unless you request one of them. The only difference is the restaurants is their respective themes.
  15. I would recommend they do the online check in. It makes the process so much smoother. They will lose vacation time by opting out of the online check in.
  16. I agree, if you end up doing the upgrade and don’t get the double points I would call a few weeks after the cruise and say you didn’t get the points. I wouldn’t mention the upgrade just the cabin number and that you were in a suite.
  17. Well they only guarantee the category of stateroom, that’s it if you booked an ocean view that’s all they are obligated to give you. You are at their mercy and get assigned what’s left. Luck of the draw imo. You roll the dice to save a few bucks.
  18. I was able to link reservations with one phone call. We were unable to request a specific location of the mdr but was told we would be given the same table. It was my parents reservation I was linking so maybe since we have the same last name it wasn’t a big deal. We’ve also went the first day to ask in the past and they were able to accommodate us with no issue. They usually bend over backwards to fill reasonable requests.
  19. Escargots are my wife and I’s absolute favorite, we get them every night.
  20. We booked the May 18th sailing out of NJ on adventure and we got an spacious ocean view balcony GTY. We were assigned room 1670, pretty far aft directly under the WJ. I’m not too worried about the noise from the wj, I am however a little worried about being that far aft as I’ve heard we may feel vibrations and any potential rocking is worse in the back of the ship. We rolled the dice to save (which was around $300 total for our family of 4) so we’ll see if we’re happy or not. We did receive our room assignment about 2 months in advance. Also this is my first cruise as Emerald so I’m excited for that too.
  21. My point was that I and others enjoy doing these things ourselves that’s all. Which is why I disagreed with your “always always always” statement. My parents use a TA and we are on the same cruise in May and I’m telling them to call their TA when I find price drops well before they get the email or phone call. Also, I’ve never been on hold longer than a few minutes when contacting Royal Caribbean. I’ve called at different times of day so maybe I’ve just been lucky.
  22. Don’t beat yourself up, a nice pair of shorts are acceptable in my book. After all you are on vacation
