I still keep in touch with the crew from the Adventure via FB and Instagram.  Kim and Taylor from the sports team are awesome!  I even picked them up one day during turn around and showed them South Florida and took them out to lunch!

Take a look off the east coast of Florida from Miami up to Jax.  Some are so close I could swim up to them if I was a marathon swimmer!  LOL

I know FCC and Refunds have been the majority of the conversations on this blog lately but I think we all have valid reasons we are talking about it.  Imagine, if they gave us a clear update on why things are being held up, we could go back to talking about fun things!

A little analogy, if we have some incredible Americans that can create a complex machine like a ventilator in a month, is it asking too much for our refunds to be credited in that same about of time.

This weeks "Coffee chat with Vickie" ended with the past hour and I still feel like they are fiddling while Rome burns. I asked a very serious question about the frustration with refunds and FCC's. It went unanswered while they answered how many people fit in a sling ride on CocoCay!

I received a partially refund for our meal package...a drop in the bucket.
Spoke with them on Monday and was told the refund was initiated on Sunday and the money should be back in my account in 2-4 days.  Today is day 3 (or day 2 using business days) and I have yet to see an additional dime in my account.  I'm not holding out hope that I'll see the money this week.  The agents are so overwhelmed at this point that they are saying whatever it takes to get the annoyed customer off the phone.  I'm not saying its right, but I don't necessarily blame the rank and file worker - I blame management for this colossal mess!  
FWIW, my official cancellation dated was 3/19.

I called yesterday and conferenced my TA, got nowhere! She told us it was generated by the system!  So that blows the idea that it's manual.

On the part of all this about this being a manual process...... I can tell you they have said that on other cruise cancellations BEFORE all of this.  This is not like airlines that worked with Corporate travelers and had a system in place for tons of changes after final payment.  I know that everyone is frustrated with this process, but please remember that this is a VERY UNUSUAL circumstance that EVERYONE finds themselves in and no one had a good plan for what would happen when the world shut down.  The cruise lines have furloughed lots of people and have moved people from their normal jobs to helping handle the refunds, FCC, call center questions, etc.  The systems were never created to give all the money back plus some...lol  Manual process means its slower and less accurate.  
We all have to hang in there and find some patience.  I know its hard, but your TA cant push this thru faster, Royal cant move any faster, and anyone that picks up the phone to help explain all this - needs some understanding as they didnt create this issue, they are only there to try to help
 

I could see it. Could also see them doing it for shorter windows than the general hour before. If you have a large contingent of the 11am group show up at the end of their hour and the 12pm group show up at the beginning of theirs you are back to square one. 

They must have a different group of people working on those, lol.

I am not aware of any law regarding the rapidity of issuing a refund.
As for banks, once the refund is submitted to the bank by a company the bank has three (3) business days (from COB on the day of the refund) to make funds available if the amount is less than $1000*. The time is extended to seven (7) business days for larger amounts (meaning 9 calendar days because there is guaranteed to be a weekend in there). If a refund is issued after 5:00 p.m. local time for the financial institution, it is the beginning of the NEXT business day so there can be four to ten (4-10) full weekdays before the money must be available to you.
*This was the amount that was in effect when my wife retired from banking. It may be higher now.

Every one of the ones I made last night have already hit my account !!!  They wasted NO time in processing every single one of them like lightning.

Bought the Drink Package for the New Years portion of our B2B Christmas/New Years cruise that leaves 12/20/20.  $57 much better then $65.  I can't remember what I paid last Christmas on the Adventure.   Thanks for the heads up!

We can see if can be moved to a more appropriate "Topic" thread because we have tons on this blog in regards to FCC and Refunds.
Opinions should never be closed down, that's what this country needs more of and how to accept them.

I love Royal Caribbean and I won't cruise on anyone else (well maybe if it was free lol). 
It not an easy task to listen to people who talk bad or give their honest opinion about the company you love.  I honestly don't think anyone on this blog hates to cruise.  We are just so used to hearing positive things about Royal and people have voiced some of their opinions that happen to be negative.  It's not always sunshine and rainbows
