  1. This is true. My wife & I always go the "cheap" route ($39). On Rhapsody in 2017, I ended up one number away from the free cruise!
  2. So, it's not just me? Nice touch with the quick pounding out of 8 letter S's as a user name, too.
  3. @RDDAILY There's no way I could see cruise ships coming and going nearly every day while I toil away at my desk! You must be a very strong person to do so! ? Friend of mine & his wife are taking their first ever cruise on Mariner on 7/16. (I convinced them to go! ?)
  4. "Busted in Cozumel", is that a Kenny Chesney song? If not, it should be!
  5. OH! That's right, I overlooked that. I'm gonna chalk this whole thing up to just not being able make some people happy. They NEED something to complain about. "You know, you can't please all the people all the time... and last night, all those people were at my show." - Mitch Hedberg 1968-2005
  6. I was thinking the same thing. I have never heard any noise from the adjacent cabins on any of our cruises. Reading the article, it seemed as though Royal continually tried to remedy the situation and this guest just kept going on with a "wait and see" attitude.(It was EIGHT DAYS before he complained to the staff?!?!) As for not wanting to be "downgraded", I'm sure Royal would have offered a refund and/or other compensation for the change in stateroom category.
  7. From the CLUB ROYALE REWARDS PROGRAM RULES pdf link in the email: "At the beginning of each Program Year, the number of Tier Credits held by each Member shall be reset to zero." I'll never get beyond Choice tier based on the limited amount of gambling I do.
  8. Absolutely! After getting her white chocolate mocha one morning, my wife stopped by the pool bar and asked to have a shot of amaretto added to it!
  9. Don't feel too bad about a 4 hour delay. Our 9-night Grandeur cruise was delayed two days back in January for a rudder issue. We lost our port day in Charleston, SC as a result. Don't get too discouraged. Once you walk onto the ship for the first time, "vacation mode" click on in your brain and all will be well!
  10. Our first cruise was on Navigator of the Seas in November 2009. We had a great time, but, I wish I had this site back then to better prepare for the trip. Being inexperienced newbies, we were so concerned about additional charges that we missed out on a lot of extras that we had no idea were included. Live & learn. We've been making up for what we missed out on our subsequent cruises! ? 236 days until we depart for San Juan! 237 days until we depart San Juan on Freedom OTS!
  11. In my own experiences with drink packages, the discounts usually start to appear once your countdown hits double-digits. 20% is a pretty common discount, I've been lucky enough to snag a 25% discount once.
  12. For us, the new tradition is stop by Schooner for our first cocktail followed by getting some lunch. (Park Cafe is usually pretty free of congestion, Windjammer if it's not TOO crowded) Following that, we always take the Spa tour and cross our fingers to win something in the raffle. (Plus my wife usually has a Day 1 massage already booked to start vacation extra relaxed!)
  13. WOW! That's a great upgrade! Congratulations & Bon Voyage!
  14. Thanks for posting this. This keep getting talked about, but, no one has been showing the aftermath. Good to see that it's had fairly minimal impact to stops there.
  15. Mind if I ask when you got on board? We have the same departure in January and were wondering if anyone hops off after an early check -in and boarding to do any exploring in San Juan before muster and/or departure.
  16. Like @arebee said, Schooner. We start out our cruises by getting a drink there & keep going back throughout the sailing.
  17. Royal departed from Cruise Terminal 2 when I was there (January 2017 on Rhapsody). I didn't park there myself, but, there is a very large multi-level parking garage directly across the street. (Channelside Drive)
  18. Haven't used them myself, but, my wife has very much enjoyed the spa services on each cruise we've taken. FYI: If you don't take advantage of any deals/sales beforehand, you may still find some good spa service deals while on board. Particularly if you book services for in port/tendering days.
  19. Grandeur = 915 Ft Enchantment = Originally 916 Ft., now 988.71 Ft. after 2005 "stretching"
  20. She would have to have your SeaPass card to get the drink for you. Your card will be designated with "DX" in the lower right corner indicating that you have the Deluxe package. The server will run both cards if buying a drink for herself and also one for you.
  21. Does visiting this site everyday count as a cruise reminder? We'll be on Freedom in January, 271 Days and counting!(1/27/19)
  22. I tend to spend more time reading the drink menus rather than the lifeboat serial numbers. ?
  23. Like Neaxan said, fill out the Guest Special Need Form ahead of time and it will be waiting for you in your stateroom. If you're already on board, simply request it from your stateroom attendant and he/she will have it waiting for you in the evening when they perform the evening stateroom service. (The time when your towel animals and cruise compass appear)
  24. We sailed on Grandeur this past January. (playoff season) NFL games were on the TVs in the Casino, Schooner Bar, & the big screen TV Poolside.
