Chris, congratulations - that is quite a coup!    You handled yourself brilliantly!   

I know a few guys from Philippines who are not that big in height but they know how to look after themselves, and as i keep telling my dearest wife size isnt everything 😉😂
One of the issues nowadays is you cannot just lamp someone even though they do it to you first! 
Its all about talking them down, being their friend etc because if security is seen to be to hands on they can end up in court.
 

UPDATE: Happy to report I received an email from Dudley! I'm not going to post it because I felt it very personal but I can confirm here the "higher ups" received my email explaining how he made our trip special & in turn notified Dudley. His message was so heart felt, he said he was being recognized from the ships Officers including heads of HR, Food & Beverage and more even to include some team mates. Congratulations Dudley & thank you Royal for following up with this positive action.

We've never cruised Mariner, although we have booked an 8-day next May, and now
I'm a little concerned.  Balconies were stupid high, so we opted for a promenade inside
room, which was our cabin on our first two cruises on Freedom.  I'm hooked on balconies,
and am a little disappointed to be back inside, but the itinerary is fantastic.
I hope by May '23 perhaps the Elon wi-fi will be installed and we won't have to deal with crappy zoom.

Slow but I'm trying....

Checked in waiting in the terminal, we had secured a 1030 check in. Nothing special for suites this early as far as check in. Regular line but it was so short, there was signage but the personnel said they weren't using it yet because it was early. Lots of parking, great parking garage with plenty of spaces this early. Staff here seems tired, and avoids eye contact probably exhausted. If you engage them with a smile they are kind in response.  
No special waiting area for suites, keys, pins it seems. We asked and they said just sit anywhere, they will call us. No worries we are here, the ship is there, my car is secure, all good!

@Floski I just went down to check for particulars. 25.00$ per night to leave car here in their lot. They have hired a third party shuttle that leaves at 1045 and 1115. If you want another time you must make your own arrangements. They do have sign ups so they know how many are going and what time they prefer. I hope this helps.

Where are you parking?  We usually stay across the street at the Radisson; the Hampton is a little cheaper, 
I believe, but their cruise parking is really high.
We will be sailing Mariner next May, so I'm hoping for some juicy tidbits!

On my May 13th cruise on the Ovation, first bar issue - No olives.  Then NO Bloody Mary mix (which really confused me as tomato juice could have been used and spiced up a bit to make a decent Bloody Mary mix, if I was a member of management, I'd do that rather than say the ship was out, Bloody Mary's are kinda important in the morning after a hard night out 😟.  Then, no Kraken (and I just discovered it thanks to some folks in here).  BUT, by the end of the cruise, they must have stocked up in Juneau or Sitka.  So, all was good, eventually.  

We will be there on the Radiance of the Seas in 11 days.   Sure hope they have Crown Royal…Sailing out of Canada but who knows.   We will let everyone know. 

It's not just Crown Royal, unfortunately.
On our April cruise on Harmony, they were missing a lot of their high-end stuff - Zacapa, Courvoisier, Remy, etc....
I'm hoping they have this remedied by Dec!

Unfortunately for the cruise lines, this strategy won't last too, too long.  If they can't get more new crewmembers vetted/approved, then
the service will continue to erode as present crew get worn out.  I'm sure the lines are working super hard to remedy this issue.

There has been a ton of debate to build a modern terminal, but I'm pretty sure the greedy developers
will get their way and build more stupid condos/apartments down on the river.  It's gotten so ridiculously 
crowded downtown that I very seldom go down there.  You'd think the bluebloods would prefer an 
occasional ship with temporary visitors instead of more cars.

I know the blue bloods downtown pretty much hate having an ugly Carnival ship being 
so close to the historic area, so they've finally gotten their way and Carnival is leaving.
 
I was thinking......Carnival is a pretty dirty ship, emissions-wise, and that is a big reason 
why they're hated here.   HOWEVER - Royal is a much cleaner running vessel and wouldn't
"soot up" their homes as badly.   
I know it's a pipe dream, but how freaking awesome would it be to have a real cruise line
home porting 15 minutes from my house?
