Floski reacted to smokeybandit in Richard Fain stepping down
I like the food on RC. I agree it's not going to win any Michelin stars, but I rarely have a bad meal.
I do wish they'd have more late night options though.

Richard Fain single-handedly helped me get through the pandemic.
There will always be a spot in my heart for him.

Great investment back in 1975 at $650,000 and will secure his retirement for his family. Per google, his networth is $108 million, and i'm sure his stock options are doing incredible since covid.

If you are not seeing this awesome and helpful new feature, make sure you have the latest version of the app on your phone.
Now that I have it, my life will go on.

I actually found these badges purely by chance because I was checking my profile email after reading about all your C&A woes.
It's kind of silly to put the work into creating something new and fun only for it to be relegated to "stumble upon status". I would have to agree that the time and money would be better spent fixing at least some of the eternal IT issues we so often encounter.

On Explorer now, on our way to Labadee. No reason to think we won’t be calling there tomorrow.

Your drawbacks are the reasons I prefer Labadee. And also that it is usually much warmer at Labadee than Cococay

Floski reacted to rjac in I want to go on my first cruise, but...
What we love about cruising is you get to your cabin, unpack your luggage and the only decisions you have to make is where and what to have for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Beats the hell out of going on a vacation by automobile or worse flying to a resort for a week. On a cruise, you get to see a different port/location pretty much everyday. 😎

Floski reacted to Smokey79 in I want to go on my first cruise, but...
I went through the same thing with my wife before her first cruise. Everyone is right. You won’t notice but the battle is getting them on board. I have no advice on that as she didn’t fight all that much about getting on the boat. However, her anxiety was up for sure. Once she realized it wasn’t going to be a walking on the walls experience and that there was enough lifeboats for everyone (she’s a Titanic fan) she was good. Plus she was struck by how pretty it is once you get away from the coast. She’s now a convert and a serious brand ambassador for Royal.

Floski reacted to Ampurp85 in Do Izumi Hibachi reservations sell out? (3 night package)
They differ and with the UDP/any dinning package the cost of hibachi will incur a surcharge that the regular Izumi won't. I personally will just book Hibachi as a lunch because you get better food options at a better price than the dinner.

Sushi and hibachi are two different bookings.

Would I prefer to be loyal to Royal for I'm diamond, yes.
Would I want to cruise on Royal at these ridiculous prices now, no.
I'm disappointed that most of the Oasis class ships will only be doing 3 & 4 day cruises now. Wanted to try one of those ships again. I've only been on one.
I don't want to do those short cruises on any cruise line anymore. Too much money for too little time, and (with all due respect) I'm tired of just visiting Nassau. It's bad enough 2 of my upcoming cruises go there. I'll more than likely just stay on the ship. Don't really care for Coco Cay anymore either.
I found a decent deal on Celebrity by booking over 2 years out, and I've gone on (and going on) Carnival due to the lower prices to satisfy my cruise cravings. But again no more short cruises.
I was looking at MSC for a Western Caribbean which had a price much lower than Royal, but was disappointed with the hours spent in one of the ports in Mexico due to the ship also visiting Nassau.
So now I'm about to book a Southern Caribbean cruise on Carnival that will visit the ABC Islands at a much lower price than Royal or Celebrity.
Yes I'm picky and frugal, but at this point in my life, especially with all the past cruises I have taken (and about to) I believe I can be.

"I am loyal to Royal, and don't ever intend to change".....how many times have I said that? Well, now that they are more concerned with the current money grab and are so freaking expensive, I'm teetering. Throw in the proposed short sailings for Oasis class, and I'm more intent on trying someone new.
My friends, who cruise a LOT more than we do, are usually Celebrity pax, but their last cruise was on MSC Seashore and they loved it. Now I'm thinking about it. I sure would like to try their big new baby, World America, but that is certainly going to be out of my price range.

Look at those WA cruises... I'm eyeing one up next March for spring break for three of us, at under $3k with the drinks\wifi packages.
We are going to OC twice in a row this summer after missing it our first attempt on MSC in December. We were on Seascape, so very similar lay out and experience, minus the crowd- ours also said it was fully booked at Guest services, but either that was a lie or people never came out because it never felt crowded to us. Also, I've watched quite a few videos, it looks like they have 3-4 beaches if you walk around the island
