Love that you posted this, have been pondering this for awhile and reached out to a local TA today for our 2025 cruise. Was advised to book it on Next Cruise during our Feb 2024 cruise and have it transfered to the TA. That gets us 2 OBC and a significant discount.
The 2025 cruise will be our 5th, why didn't we do this sooner! Better late than never I suppose.

We've done it both ways at Next Cruise. One thing to remember is whichever currency you book the cruise in will carryforward to Cruise Planner as well. So if you book in CDN then all prices in CP will show up in CDN. Same applies for the OBC you may have, they will show it in the currency of the booking.

I was quite surprised on board when I booked that they quoted me in Canadian and took my deposit also in Canadian dollars.

They can do both USD and CAD - you can choose which currency you want at time of booking. If you make a CAD booking the deposit will be charged in CAD.

It’s a whole different experience in a good way. The Oasis class ships are noticeably smoother and the Caribbean waters are also less turbulent than the Pacific waters. You will really enjoy Symphony. 

I believe what people tip is nobody's business but there own. Enough said.

I really do not get the issue people have with this.  If you are that messy you need the cabin cleaned twice a day maybe you need to do some self reflection.  You also likely do not get turn down service at home why expect it on the ship.
We do not even need once a day service.  We catch the steward out in the hall and swap towels on most days.

I giggle every time I read "The Naughty Room."  What is the charge to get to visit this room?  Can I get a VIP pass?

No we all don't understand that. Especially first time cruisers. Which apparently make up 50 % of all new bookings. And there are many who don't care. Many who feel paying to make up the difference in crew salary is not there problem.
And your point is "gratuities should be considered a part of your normal cruise fare". It's not. It's listed as gratuity. It's available to be removed as a gratuity. That's not a "point". That's a fact.
Everyone should handle it the way they want. Not the way you think it should be. 

I don't feel they should get more. And it's not my problem they rely on it as part of their salary. They took the job knowing some will tip more then others. Also that removing auto gratuities is an option. I tip what I feel is appropriate, Not the cruise line, not other cruisers. What I want to tip. Just like on land. And no I don't care about the folks washing the sheets in the laundry, etc. That's not my problem on land, not my problem at sea. I don't see a cruise as a humanitarian mission like some here do. Chocolates for the workers, Tips on top of tips, etc. Do any of you give this much thought to the people working in your local Walmart, etc? It's seems to be some kind of privileged guilt. I don't have that. Money for my trip comes from several years of saving. You wait on me, I leave a tip. The way people in this country have been doing for a hundred years. But making up the shortfall of a multi million dollar companies pay scale I don't feel is my problem. And as far as low wage workers goes, I know more of them then any other kind. Hell, I am one. A lot of people "only make" that kind of money. I cannot tip more then suggested amounts. That's my limit. Because I don't have, not don't want to. And I happen to think those that directly serve you should get the tip, like on land. I can't fix the world in a weeks vacation. That's not my responsibility.

I wonder how long until they stop offering complimentary iced tea and lemonade? Seems like a lot of cut backs on cruise ships and more and more "extra charges"

We agree, not a big deal to us at all. The turndown service at night was a nice and fun touch on our first cruise. After 4 more cruises we have found that it's definitely not nessasary and won't affect our cruise  at all.

I totally agree...it doesn't bother me either. I generally get a lounger on the level above the pool. And if I can't find a seat in the Solarium I move on to someplace else.  I've  never "saved" a seat in 20 years of cruising. But I do find these chair hog threads entertaining...

None of this stuff bothers me, get up and hog a chair, don’t hog a chair, kudos to the people making it out of bed early enough to even mess with laying their things out on a chair. There are so many chairs, just tons and tons, and I’m on a cruise so it’s all good.
