Those the exactly around the same prices I am seeing for economy/main cabin flights to Barcelona and return from Rome. It's bad. I paid less for that for Premium Economy in the summer of 2022.

$4,000 for the most basic seats. If you want a window seat, more leg room, additional perks it quickly adds to the cost. With these prices it’s probably the last trip we’ll ever take to Europe.

I just booked Comfort Plus on Delta for $1376 for  next May. And used airline points for one of them.  So on second free flight only paid taxes.   This year  in May I had  got tickets for under $1000 per person main cabin.    You just need to check around for flights once they open up and check with what the cruiseline can do for their flights too.   I always book my own though, and do better.  Check rates often, and usually on Tues or Wed.   I also will stay a day longer or before if rates are better for a certain day of the week.  As long as the savings are more than the cost of hotel room.  Flights open up for booking about 10 months in advance.

Flights just opened today for my 9/2024 Greek Isles cruise from Rome. It’s $4,000 for 2 people Delta main cabin/economy. It’s been years since I’ve booked international flights, really hoping rates come down, even $500 less would be good.

  3. Sale started. Just saved $182 by canceling and rebooking cruise planner items. Odyssey Greek Isles cruise had steep discounts on excursions, internet, and drink packages.

Wonder Caribbean cruise wasn’t as generous overall, Hideaway Beach did drop from $65 to $58, that’s all the savings I could find for what I have booked. I noticed the CocoCay Beach club is 50% off, $123.

  4. I don’t get it. Seems like a risky and bold assumption for passengers to expect their pet to be allowed aboard. What happens if the staff at the cruise terminal say no? Does the pet get abandoned, or do passenger’s miss their cruise entirely to return their pet home?

  5. Not only will windjammer be weighed by the plate but it will be self checkout. Enter the number of napkins you need on the kiosk, as well as number of water glasses. Reserve a table by the window for an up charge.

For the rooms they will drop bed linens off at the door, guests will need to make their bed. Full service will be an up charge.

Sorrento’s will be an up charge, first toss your own pizza, put it in the oven, weigh and pay. You can bypass this hassle with the pizza package.

Pool chairs will cost extra, using the dynamic pricing model. As more guests book chairs the price will rise based on demand until the last chair is $3,000 per day.

Coco Cay will use the European model of charging for bathroom use. The paper towel dispenser will be coin operated.

  6. I get what you’re saying. When you spend thousands on a vacation, expectations are high, and rightfully so. I have 4 cruises booked, and it’s frustrating that more changes are possibly coming, further reducing the value and experience.

CEO Jason Liberty made it clear what his priorities are, and they’re just getting started with increasing profits. Great time for customers including myself to reevaluate future decisions in regards to booking cruises, and consider other options.

  7. Late night pizza is a cruising tradition for my wife and I. Definitely wouldn’t pay for it, and this combined with other cutbacks would have me rethinking future bookings. Jason Liberty is transforming RC into a profit driven machine, and is killing off it’s loyal customer base. $500 for a couple to spend a few hours at the beach club on CocoCay is already ridiculous enough.

If you've not seen it already, my Odyssey Greek Isles report from this time last year might help while you wait for some newer ones.

I saw that previously and enjoyed your review. Right now I’m in the waiting phase, I really want to experience it but it’s not until next year. Some of the excursions I plan on booking through Royal show on the cruise planner, but are “currently unavailable”. I assume it’s too early. Do you recall how long it took for everything to become available on the cruise planner?
