Trans cruise from rome to Fl.

Just sayin' that I like your signature - the fonts getting smaller as your cruises fade further into the past. Original! -
Black Friday = 11/17 start for C&A?
FloatyBoaty replied to Cactus527's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
It was up and snappy and I was able to choose something - and then - and then - it stopped. Just tried again and got the down for maintenance banner again. I can't even imagine what is going on over there (in Royal's Tech Dept, servers etc) to make this so unreliable on the first day of a sale. I do remember this happening during another of the bigger sales this year too though - was it Memorial Day? Oh well, will keep trying. -

Happened to me too - did not screenshot either, but thought about it. Instead I jumped to another cruise and got it in my cart at 57.99, but then could not check out as the system started crashed. Ugh. -

Trans cruise from rome to Fl.

Was there illness or injury in the Theater cast or were the waves too big for them to perform? They have 2 shows, Effectors and Showgirl, in the theater on Odyssey as I understand it. They aren't Broadway musicals, you are correct, but they are Royal Caribbean productions. The Book is in 270. If the sea was too rough, it certainly wasn't their fault. It's not safe for the dancers to perform in those conditions, especially in a technological show like Effectors. I'm sure they would rather be performing than hanging out in their cabins for a full crossing. I love the Royal Caribbean entertainment and would have been bummed if they'd been unable to perform on my cruises. -

I know, but there's gotta be a good sale ONE of these days, right? I have a whole list of things I'm ready to spend $ on - fingers crossed! -

Mine mentioned that today as well - hooray! -
oasis European schedule conflict
FloatyBoaty replied to Nathan_O's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
It is interporting - guests will get on in both Barcelona and Civi/Rome. You choose where to start your cruise. We did Wonder out of Barcelona last year, choosing to spend a few days exploring Barcelona before our cruise began vs. Rome. -
Agree - I've had a mix of delivery times so far and I always tip literally everyone, but the time my bag came the fastest is when the porter and I were joking around as I made the handoff. Surely coincidence, but? Also - be certain you don't have any prohibited items in your bag so it doesn't end up in "jail"

Switching a cruise is technically a cancellation?

I did the 5-day Canada on Oasis last year - absolutely loved it and will be planning a longer Canada cruise in the future. Our excursion guide in Nova Scotia apologized over and over for how unusually "hot" it was. It was a gorgeous sunny day and probably 70-72 degrees. So perfect. -
Cruise Planner Purchases: When??
FloatyBoaty replied to CJS2766's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I was dragging out scraps of paper every time something seemed like it was less expensive and recalculating over and over. After seeing several regulars on this site post that they track via spreadsheet I decided to try it out. I highlight when I purchase so super easy to see when there's a lower price. I feel so much more organized and am hopeful/ready for Black Friday! -
I start with a $5 bill for any bag and then add to it if more than a couple pieces.

Changes to the app (also 🦞 controversy?! )
FloatyBoaty replied to ZBrady's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
This was happening to me last night. On my iPhone - All of my upcoming cruises would show up, but then once I selected one further in the future if I tried to go back to the full list, only the later one and those after would show up. I signed out, quit the app, waited a minute, then signed back in and they all would be there. It did not work if I did not quit the app. I did not have to clear the cache, but it happened a couple times. They have added several new features to the app, so hopefully will be resolved as they troubleshoot. For now, I figured I know how to work around it and will try to be patient with fingers crossed. -
Are the shows on the Wonder full shows now?

@Matt posted a few hours ago in this thread that it is Dec 9: -
There were so many photo opportunities on Wonder and Allure (the ships I was on) this year. Every night, multiple places: in the Promenade (the staircase, in front of the car, in front of the staircase, next to the English Pub, special backdrops near the elevators), special backdrops outside the MDR on level 3, at dinner, getting on and off the ship, etc etc. I was almost getting annoyed on Allure because there were so many photographers you were making your way around every night. But I do think it's great that people enjoy having these done and get great keepsake photos. I think I look horrible in photographs and they even got a couple good ones of me!
-
I had dinner in Sabor on Allure and really enjoyed it. The guac and chips are so so good. I wanted to try something from the small plate and from the. large plate, so my server offered to bring me a smaller portion (which I can't imagine was smaller in the end). I also wanted to try the Yucca fries, but decided it was too much food, but he brought them anyway. And I thought the margaritas were great too! If you choose lunch, you may want a late dinner - I was stuffed afterwards! Thoroughly enjoyed.

I'm up for that challenge - might take a few years or more, but you will never find me not requesting my shareholder benefit!

I hope people take the time to do the surveys so that it gets further than onboard crew. I wonder what the response rate for the surveys is? I feel like a lot of people probably don't because it comes as you're traveling home and catching up from vacation etc etc.? I'm usually sitting in the airport waiting for my flight home when I get the survey email and just do it right away.... Anyway, I've been trying to talk myself out of an Anthem cruise in January for the past 24 hours and this is certainly helping!
-
So sorry to hear this @Adriana I know you were planning, researching, and looking forward to this cruise so very much. You do all the right things in planning and they mess it up. I hope you feel up to doing all of the follow up things to call people out on this - I know I sometimes don't want to deal with it, but they seriously f***ed this up for you and there should be some accountability. Virtual hugs.

Booking shows before cruise is back??
FloatyBoaty replied to ScottD's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Quantum has 2 productions in the Theater: Sonic Odyssey and Sequins and Feathers. They also have Starwater in 270. So no Broadway shows, but great entertainment (in my opinion). -
I have 2 sailings booked on Quantum next year and am super excited. I did 4 Oasis class cruises in 2022 (2 with family, 2 solo) and loved every single one! I'm not sure I'm ready for a smaller ship than Freedom class, but keeping an open mind and an eye on everyone's experiences. Sorry this one was so rough for you.

We had early dining on our last cruise and also had a night that we would have been late. We mentioned to our waiter that we would not be there that night as we would be arriving back at the ship a half hour after the early seating. She asked us to please come anyway. We arrived an hour late and she was more than happy to see us - there was a 5:15 seating and an 8 pm seating, so plenty of time to accommodate us in a more expedited service. Many of the tables were empty throughout that cruise (Wonder Mediterranean) and I think she was happy to have something to do. So of course, all situations are different, but I guess anything is possible depending on how many people are dining regularly, the waitstaff, and communication, of course.

If an excursion is changed should we get a partial refund?
FloatyBoaty replied to Looksee's topic in Shore Excursions
There was also an overall change to one of my excursions in New Zealand in March. I looked up the new version on my Cruise Planner - it's selling for less than what I paid for it, so I just cancelled the excursion and repurchased at the lower price. You can do this anytime there is a sale/price change, or you just feel like it. Please note that you do have to pay for the repurchased excursion in full while you wait for your credit card issuer to process the return. Two of my other excursions also had lower prices so I rebooked those as well. This doesn't fully answer your question but I just wanted to point out that it may be an option for you. -
Wonder of the Sea balconies?
FloatyBoaty replied to NEbluebird's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
My personal choice would be Central Park. There will be some live music in the park in the early evening and bar/restaurant traffic throughout the day, but it is generally very peaceful there and I would not hesitate to book myself if ocean view were not available. Central Park is one of my (many) favorite places on the ship. The Boardwalk balconies, depending on how close to the back could have a great partial view of the ocean. The carousel noise would drive me bonkers, but that does not go late at night. There will be Aqua Shows 2x night a few nights, so if you want to get to sleep early that could be annoying. That said, I have not stayed in either - we had ocean view balconies both times.
