RickinSTL reacted to SpeedNoodles in Mock Booking
On RoyalUp? Good luck! I hope it works out for you! I'll be interesting to see if I get a RoyalUp option for my October Allure sailing.

RickinSTL got a reaction from Baked Alaska in First cruise!!
The most sage advice I've ever been given is not to try to do everything. You'll stress and freak out trying to fit it all in Relax.. you're supposed to be on a stress free vacation Go where the day takes you.. Watch the sun set over the horizon.. Clink Glasses with your new found friends.. enjoy conversations.. Try foods you normally wouldn't.. Don't be afraid to dance, sing, and act like a dork lol ?

RickinSTL reacted to twangster in Is there a Port Canaveral day resort?
I'm wondering if all inclusive run foul of state liquor laws. Otherwise lots of "resorts" aka some guys backyard with a pool would offer "all inclusive" passes.

RickinSTL reacted to SpeedNoodles in Mock Booking
I just did a mock booking to see and had no problems.
Actually, I did have a problem. I mock booked an AquaTheatre Suite on Symphony, and now I WANT IT TO BE REAL!!!!!

RickinSTL reacted to SpeedNoodles in To Jr suite or not?
I booked Jr Suites over the next year for the double points. It was worth it to me.

Symphony passed the buoyancy test in Miami.

I'll be really mad if Symphony doesn't pass the buoyancy test...we're scheduled to sail Sep 18. ?

RickinSTL reacted to RWDW1204 in Online Check In... State of Flux?
37 days until Freedom. Able to check in Saturday but no SetSail Passes available until last night. And then it's only 1, even though it says "view" for both.
The app shows both ready to check in, just need to do Health & Safety questions the day before boarding. Still only 1 SetSail Pass showing.

RickinSTL reacted to ConstantCruiser in Online Check In... State of Flux?
Check in for airline flights is never more than 24 hours from departure.
A new standard of 7 days to check in for a cruise would be ample and minimize disruption from changing protocols over the next year.

RickinSTL reacted to coneyraven in Online Check In... State of Flux?
State of Flux ...... yep ..... People on Oasis (out of Florida) in November have things populated on the app ---- yet, those of us sailing on her out of Bayonne in September still get the "We're working on the fun" box ..... We can supposedly start the check in process next Monday (the 21st) --- we shall see.

RickinSTL reacted to wordell1 in Why was Symphony August 21, 2021 Itinerary Changed? Port Planning is not a good answer.
People are going to need to expect the unexpected over the next few months. There will likely be many changes to itineraries, pre boarding and on-board protocols, etc.
We should remember that a lot of people don't want us cruising at all and Royal has been leading the fight to get us back to doing what we love.
My understanding is that people can still cancel and apply the full price towards another future cruise when things may be a little more certain.

RickinSTL reacted to WAAAYTOOO in Do you get double the suite double points too?
They will certainly throw in the phrase, "...to enhance your experience..."

RickinSTL reacted to CruiseGus in Do you get double the suite double points too?
that and the size room with full tub with shower, sometime i wish i had never had my wife in anything other than an inside room.
Just recently booked into a GS albeit for my 65th, now she asks when I mention a cruise "are we getting a suite" and i know she aint talkin a JS either

RickinSTL reacted to ConstantCruiser in DeSantis/Florida wins prelim injunction over CDC
It does free the cruise lines from being beholden to the whims of the CDC.
They don't have to expend vast amounts of energy asking and negotiating with the CDC on a ship by ship basis for the next several months, waiting for the CDC to make a change and then investing countless hours to redo process and procedures based on the latest outdated CDC requirements.
Cruise lines can now choose when and where to restart and what protocols they will use. They can be agile in responding and adapting as the situation unfolds (the CDC is not agile).
It also saves the industry millions of dollars. Test sailings cost money. They consume vast amounts of fuel and crew salaries have to be paid. Test cruises have to be resupplied with vast amounts of food and other provisions. Port fees and taxes have to be paid yet they can't charge passengers anything. Pilots have to be paid. Longshoreman have to be paid. Terminal contractors doing things like check in have to be paid. All the while test cruises are generating zero revenue. That's hundreds of thousands of dollars saved per ship for a beleaguered industry shut down by the government.

Nope --- its' a Gang --- @Sharla approved it, that makes it so ......... But then, what about a Fleet?
