NoobCruise got a reaction from CrimsonCruiser in Voyager of the Seas guaranteed suite questions?
Thank you all for the advice.  Very helpful in making my decision. It sounds like the worst-case scenario would be a connecting junior suite on a floor above or below a noisy part of the ship. Maybe an obstructed view. Not great but being that it is about 1 grand cheaper than an ocean-view balcony I decided to take the gamble and lock in the savings. So we most likely won't end up with any suite privileges, but will we get double cruise points for crown and anchor?

That's horrible. I guess they don't request enough feedback about the entertainment. If they did clearly Cat's would have been off of Oasis a long time time ago. This appears to be a blind spot for Royal.

You can cover your son's eyes - I've seen the show at least 4 times. He is an excellent entertainer throughout the show and goes into his contortion routine a couple of times. I could not watch, myself, but there are many people, including children, that are absolutely enthralled (I watched the audience instead of the stage). There are a lot of great reasons to see the show even if you don't like contortionists.

I don't think it's that at all.  It is very expensive to bring in a Broadway production show and takes months for the cast to prepare.  Now, Tap Factory isn't Broadway, and it is Wonder of the Seas least expensive production show.  Voices, Effectors 2, 365, and Intense were more expensive in scope, scale and sets.  The workers are contracted with the cruise line.  The contortionist is a huge part of the show.  He wouldn't be able to be removed from the show.  If anyone has seen it, they would know what I mean.  I wouldn't want to say anything here to ruin it for someone watching it for the first time.  I do think the show is worth going to once.  All the other shows, are shows I would see over and over again.  Wonder is loaded with very good entertainment.

Yes, he's there.  We sailed last week.  I was grossed out.  Everyone was talking about it after the show.  I had to close my eyes.

I love deck 8 on any ship. On smaller ships you can walk to any of the popular spots...also the same on larger ships. I also like being able to get to a lot of the specialty restaurants located in Central Park or on the Boardwalk without the need to take an elevator.

    I don't believe so.
What can happen, however, is a travel agency holds a bunch of rooms for a block and then releases them when they don't sell them all. That can appear to have a similar effect as your example. The difference is this is a third party doing it, not the operator.

It's very convenient.  Easy to pop out to Boardwalk.  Down a set of stairs into the Promenade.  Up two flights to Central Park.  Forward to the gym.
On Oasis class somewhere is a long walk.  There is no cabin close to everything.  Deck 6 is an elevator ride to the pool deck, solarium, the windjammer and sports deck.  Everything is relatively close.

I also suggest bringing ziplock bags on board and stopping at Cafe Promenade and getting a bunch of chocolate chip cookies to eat at the airport.  It makes for a happier wait.  Besides, by the end of the cruise, you're used to eating every 2 hours!

One thing to consider is the day of the week that you will disembark. The Wonder comes and goes on a Sunday which helps with the traffic on the beachline with most people heading to the coast vs week day and work commuters and Sunday mornings are usually slower at MCO. Same situation on a Saturday with traffic but MCO can be busier in the morning. Mondays and Fridays work traffic to Orlando is busier and the occasional traffic accident can cause back-ups. 11:00 am flight should be the mark to be on the safe side as a Ride-share/ private transport driver the normal time to MCO is 40-45 minutes so plan your disembarkation time accordingly for Uber/Lyft shuttles are a different story because of they don't leave until full.
Side note- 2 weeks ago I saw a GoPort bus full of passengers going 30mph on the Beachline backing up traffic for several miles (turbo issue) then the next day saw another shuttle bus parked at the entrance to MCO on the big curved overpass and the driver was walking along picking up suitcases that fell out of the bus as he rounded the curve. The driver did not look happy.

The only thing I've noted is surge pricing due to demand when thousands of people on different ships are all trying to request a ride.
I like to get up early, get off the ship using self-assist and get on my way before the masses create surge pricing.

NoobCruise reacted to FloatyBoaty in Wonder if "Voices" is kid friendly?
We watched and enjoyed all of the production shows in the Royal Theater (Effectors II, Voices, Tap Factory) both times we sailed on Wonder last year. I would just add that in our experience, if you want to be in the front couple of rows, you do need to get there pretty early. We were always surprised that people came in a few minutes before showtime and seemed to be upset that the front rows were full when many in the audience had already been seated for 20 minutes or longer.
There is plenty for a 5 year old to watch on stage in Voices that he probably would not even have a chance to notice the video backdrop.

I'll add to the 45 min rule. Almost all flights I've been on over the past year have started boarding 50 minutes before stated departure time. So if you have a flight at 11:30am, you really need to be at the gate at 10:30. Not the airport, the gate. And they can and will start giving away those seats to stand by passengers by 11am for anyone still not on board for 11:30 departure. And doors close a good 20 min before at least. Almost all of mine doors closed 30 min before.
