When we landed in Amsterdam , there was no one!  We did have instructions to go to the lounge at Arrival Gate 4 ; there was no lounge! We walked all over Schiphol looking for someone holding a sign.  Just by luck found the person he was walking with sign with our name on it along with someone else. Never found that person.  The next day our traveling companions had the same problem; never found anyone , had to take a taxi to the hotel.

On our March trip from San Juan we used RCCL transfers.  We were met by a representative in the luggage claim area.  She stayed with us until our porter collected our luggage and took us to the pick up area.  She also stayed with us until our coach came to pick us up.  The representative had an RCCL sign which she held up so it was easy to see.  Just a suggestion, we compare RCCL transfers and compare to Uber or Lyft.  Many times Uber or Lyft are quicker and cheaper than RCCL transfers.
    Enjoy your cruise!

Got a transfer in Orlando back in 2015 and they were waiting for us at the baggage claim with a sign and everything. Felt very fancy (if we weren't so rushed T_T)

You will have your own table with MTD. Only traditional dining seats singles together.

Contact Royal direct. Once you are switched to My Time Dining, go back and make reservations for times/days you want to dine at/on the Cruise Planner.

I personally think Hibachi or even sushi lends itself to a more celebratory atmosphere. Chops will be more subdued, and that is fine, if that is what you are looking for. I would do Chops because I don't like to be a spectacle.

Chops for me as we are a party of two, and I would prefer to celebrate amongst ourselves.

The best answer will be achieved by asking yourself the following question:
    "Which will Dad appreciate more?"
Always go with the choice the honored guest would make if they were making the plans.

If I was going and celebrating MY dad, I'd choose Chops because my dad is a steak guy.  He likes the other type, but he'd choose the classic steak house.  Maybe think about what your dad would prefer.  But either one will be a nice birthday dinner place.  IMO.

I agree with the others in that it ultimately depends on whether you would like to dine with just the two of you or with 6-8 other guests. Hibachi tables are for 8-10 people, so you won't sit alone. However, I would vote hibachi personally as it would be a fun birthday atmosphere!

I have a similar question.  I noticed this morning that dining options and dining packages were loaded into the cruise planner for my Feb 2023 cruise on Symphony.  It lists Solarium Bistro under the Specialty Dinner options with a la carte pricing.  It also shows listings for Solarium Bistro for Breakfast and Lunch, and appears to imply that reservations might be needed for these times as well.  I thought Solarium Bistro was complimentary at breakfast and lunch, with no reservations needed, but perhaps they are changing things or I am mistaken.  Anyone know how this works?

I have a question regarding the Solarium bistro, do you need to make reservations to eat there at lunch or dinner?

Also is the solarium bistro buffet style or you order from the menu? Time.

The one time I ate there, we were allowed to order as much as we wanted. I don’t know if that’s the policy, but I read advice on here that, if you aren’t presumptuous about it and explain that it’s your first time and you know you will like one item but want to be adventurous and try something you’re unsure of, they’ll accommodate.

I do think that some specialty restaurants like Chopped are limited to one item per course per person, but some of the smaller specialities will allow you to order whatever you want.

Pretty much every restaurant aboard the ships, with the exception of Chops, allows multiple of everything. In some cases, like when dinging solo, you can ask for smaller portions of everything so you can try multiple items. I don't know any restaurant that limits desserts😉

You can book shows in the app. Just connect to the ships wifi and open the app. You don't have to pay for a wifi package to use the app. If it gives you a hard time put the phone in airplane mode and turn the wifi back on.
They also usually have a place to book the shows once you are onboard. If it isn't immediately obvious ask Guest Services or someone in a yellow shirt/jacket/vest and they will tell you where to go.

The cups are available, on the first day, at a few tables set up in the Promenade area…most bars will also have them.  If you are like me and forget to pick it up until day 3!!!  then you’ll need to find out where to get it.  In my case…it was at the Ben &Jerry’s (I was on the Freedom).   I didn’t think there is a pkg that includes refreshment and VOOM…thought that was only with soda or alcohol pkg.  At any rate once you are on the ship you are able to connect to VOOM and if you have trouble doing so (like not so tech savvy me!) there is a booth near guest services specifically for Internet purchase and help.

When a refreshment package is ordered pre-cruise in the cruise planner... Where do we get our Coca-Cola souvenir cup the first day?
And also if the package included Voom, where do we the Username/Passord to connect to the onboard wifi?

Currently on Symphony,  closing out another wonderful Royal cruise. First time on a ship this size. We were worried the size would overwhelm us. We have been pleasantly surprised.  As usual, the crew are superb!!  We have only 2 complaints. First, the Royal app has been very hit or miss. It freezes frequently, which is a bummer when you've come to rely on it from previous cruises. The other issue had been the MDR. On our boarding pass,  we were scheduled for 8:00 seating, which is what we wanted.  When we received our Sea Pass Cards, it showed My Time Dining. We were unable to get it changed.  The food has been good as usual (with a couple of exceptions). The staff was great.  However,  we like getting to know  the staff, and when they change every night it isn't as fun.
