Thanksgiving week 2022 on Anthem I was stuck in the room with 2 sea sick kids while my husband, parents, and the other 2 kids went to eat.  I gave my husband a list of what I wanted to eat and asked him to just bring it when he came back.  Imagine my surprise when our assistant waiter Miluten showed up at my door with all of my food, and some things for the kids to nibble on (because "it is too much for MrSleepy to have to balance!") (I saw him June 2024 on Liberty and he remembered me - "Sleepy425 with all the kids!!!"  And I know he wasn't making that up, because I didn't have all the kids with me that cruise.  That guy is fantastic!)
Definitely not a normal occurrence, but so appreciated. If you went to your table and just ordered a couple things and asked to take them to go I don't imagine they would give you an issue.  But too many of those plates with covers would be a challenge for you to carry.

We have a Gty OV Bal...yesterday prior to checkin a cabin appeared on our app...it was a JS. TA called to verify if they had a room assigned...no...TA asked for screenshot...sent it...she checked with RC and they said it was odd but no. Checked in and did the transfer to Apple Wallet and it shows deck 11 and the cabin # in the last digits. It's an OV and more toward the back of the ship.

We booked a guaranteed ocean view balcony through Next sailing January 27...the current booking for that cruise, same balcony category, is being offered today at almost double what we paid. We have never done this before on a cruise so it is obviously a concern for us. If I recall others here have gotten their room assignment well before the cruise. Is that correct?  

Yeah the dinning packages deals are really lackluster to say the least. I don't get it.

Pro tip to deter magnet theft-

This post reminds me of one of my favorite cruise pastimes - walking the halls early in the mornings to admire magnets/door decor. If I find one I really like, I take a photo on my phone for posterity's sake. In fact, I found a magnet once that I loved so much I immediately went and found it online to purchase. Just can't fathom stealing a magnet - I'd have that constantly hanging over my own conscience whenever I looked at it.

Excursions in Labadee, good deals with a slight increase over last year. Dining deals? HORRIBLE with only 10% off and 3 night dining over $300 for two with grats added. Internet, way up over last year. Our sailing is SOS Jan 2024.

3 night is on our Jan SOS cruise but there is no chops + 1 and the 3 night is only 10% off on the black friday sale...never seen such a small discount.

That was our scenario until I squeezed in an extra 5-nighter late last month. Now I'm staring at 173 and reminding myself the plan was always to reach D+ after our March cruise so nothing has changed... but it still feels that way. 🤣

When we disembark in February we will be D+ with exactly the number of points needed. Which will be great but we have no interest in moving to pinnacle. After all, without extra points that would require 525 days at sea and over a ten year period that would be almost two months a year. We are also going to sail on Celebrity, already have our first booked, and unless they transfer points those won't count.

For our trip on Oasis in Feb 2023, we got great deals on excursions like 50% off some Coco Cay and Labadee excursions. 
The drinks package only went to BOGO 50% off which we purchased but later cancelled and re booked at 30% off...
I think we actually got a really good deal too on an "Anniversary Package", i.e., decorations, chocolate dipped strawberries and a bottle of Moet for €80. 
I didn't check very hard to see what cruise deals there were but from bried recollection there was nothing out of the ordinary to the deals that pop up from time to time each month.

Half of the year in the Caribbean is hurricane season. 

To go with the flow you have to get in the flow to go with. Go enjoy your cruise and adapt, if necessary, as necessary

That's a rather personal question.

On our recent Allure sailing the numbers reported at the top tier event showed less that 200 total Pinnacle and D+ and if memory serves about 250 or so D. On a ship of that size that's a fairly low percentage. 

Odyssey 1/2023 we topped 140...note in our cabin and was offered to have it shipped or delivered to our room the day before we left the ship...we chose to take it with us.

That's news to me. We sailed on September 3 and got our points a few days after we returned, just like always.

My solution? I try and be consistent with exercise and lose 5lbs before I sail.

When I got the email today announcing the new Star of the Seas and that it begins sailing in June 2025 I had to wonder how in the world can they continue to put out so many huge ships and where are they going.
