Sergio, casino host Radiance OTS (formerly on the Brilliance OTS), is the BEST employee that I have encountered in all of my cruises. He is personable, passionate, and professional. He made sure our cruising experience was fantastic. I plan to write an actual letter to RCL about him. Does anyone else have that one special employee?

How Would You Rate The Condition Of Royal's Ships
Swar replied to Moby Dick's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
All 8 ships we've sailed, since October, have been very well maintained. My wife did comment on the Brilliance OTS windows being a tad dated/streaked. I think the recent dry dock should have fixed that issue. -
You can also type in the passport information. Just hit the scan passport line. Then select the choice at the bottom to manually enter info.

Sailing on the same ships or new ones?
Swar replied to Jamesszy94's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The Royal Caribbean Crystal Block is awarded to guests as a milestone recognition when they accumulate 140 cruise points and subsequent blocks every 70 points. These blocks are custom made for all 26 ships in the fleet. Guests can create their own 'crystal fleet' as they cruise on different ships around the world. These crystals would be presented to eligible guests reaching the milestone on that voyage in your staterooms, along with a letter from the ships' loyalty ambassador onboard. -
Sailing on the same ships or new ones?
Swar replied to Jamesszy94's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Nope, I'll be happy to get my D+ and 5 drink vouchers /day. I like variety of destinations and ships. Did five straight cruises on Brilliance and cancelled the 6th one because I was done with her that month. Back on BOTS in December. -
Sailing on the same ships or new ones?

1st world problems. lol I've sailed on 8 of the RCL ships. Our goal is to hit all RCL ships in the next 2 years. A man has to have goals. -
On the Radiance, they had a mimosa cart in the Windjammer that you could buy drinks from since the nearest bar is to the aft of the restaurant.
-
Should not be a problem. Usually one restaurant is open for lunch.

Wait until you do an Alaska cruise on Radiance. Understandably, there are many connectivity issues. Try to do your COVID test for the return flight home and sweat out the 15 minute wait. In truth, most of the time the system worked ok.

We just finished a 6 night self led land tour and a Southbound 7 night Alaska cruise. We way over packed. Did washes in sink and hit the laundry room at the hotel in Seward.

I kinda was hoping the Golden Room was going to be the only smoking area to gamble in. Oh well, it's a business decision.

2 bottles per room and up to a 12 pack per room of nonalcoholic stuff up to 17 oz per individual container.

ArriveCAN for Northeast to Canada
Swar replied to Pattycruise's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
We did the ArriveCAN for our Southbound Alaska cruise. No one ever asked for it or seemed to care. We did have newbie guys checking us in at the dock, who we were teaching how to process people. lol -
My plans won't change. I get basically unlimited casino cruises. I can cancel up to the actual morning of the cruise and I get back all tax and gratuity money paid. Which is all I pay anyway. I know this can't go on forever either, but I'll enjoy it while I can.

I also tip at least a dollar a drink - even for a water bottle. I have observed people bet thousands of dollars and never give a drink tip. Then they wonder why no server comes around. I even start out with some higher tips early on and get REALLY good service the whole trip. I bought a gift for one waiter and he invited me to his wedding in India.

Gambling points 2-3 days. C&A points within a week. Except that one time I hit Diamond and was going on a cruise 2 weeks later - then 3 weeks for the points. All good. The Ambassador squared it away.

How strict are they on boarding times
Swar replied to Murphy143's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
There is a great restaurant in front of the ship, at Port Canaveral, that is a great place to hang out after you drop off your bags. I have had no problems on my 10 post covid cruises showing up early. Yes - Seattle was a tad nutty, but I expect that from West Coast peeps -
Need help. Looking into switching flight from Vancouver to Seattle
Swar replied to Jill's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
What's the problem going out of Vancouver? -
Dropping off bags at the cruise terminal
Swar replied to Va4fam's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
In theory. I have heard of some cruisers not being allowed to drop off bags extremely early. We have never had a problem. -
Are we getting value for our drinks packages?
Swar replied to Mike.s's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Reading about the cost of the UDP makes me glad I made Signature and Diamond. Between the 4 drinks pppd, unlimited drinks in the casino, free wifi, and two printed pictures /cruise we get to gamble up to @$200 /day for what a UDP would cost. Forgot to mention, we are on semi free cruises due to gambling. Not gloating, just cannot believe RCL gives us such great benefits. Only cruise line I plan to be on except for unique experiences (river cruises etc) -
Gone are the days of low capacity sailings

Any of the peeps, in hot tub, ever get out to pee or do they have iron bladders? The world wonders... -
This scenario seems to encourage people to not admit to a positive COVID event - especially since the majority of COVID cases are asymptomatic or just an annoyance. Just as I couldn't imagine someone sharing the fact they have a cold or flu. Seems more prudent to wear a mask, stay 6 feet away from people when possible and enjoy the cruise. Of course I would report the positive COVID result immediately and quarantine. Sure I would...

Our main course was surf and turf and we split a 2 lb lobster. unlimited everything.

We did Wonderland once. The "show" was ok, but the food was not to our taste. I wish they would replace all Wonderlands with a Mason Jar or Hooked.

The Tampa Bay area has done studies to remediate the low bridge problem. The most viable option is to build a Port outside the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. A manmade island area near the northern part of the bridge) has been mentioned. Many years and $700 million away from an answer though. "The Port Authority would build the terminal on an artificial island created by the dredging that would be needed to create a channel for the ships"
