  1. Open up the Royal App Click on the person icon at the top of the screen. Scroll to your sailing It should say when check in opens for your sailing.
  2. Is anyone else freaked out a bit about the really really late ice shows at 10:45 p.m.??? I mean, wow!
  3. Convincing wife starts with looking at how all of the covid cases on RCL ships have been handled since the restart. Of course, it's all going to depend on her level of risk aversion and flexibility. According to crew member reports many sailings report no covid cases aboard, however some sailings have just a handful of cases and are easily taken care of with the protocols. 1. Escorted off the ship after a brief in room quarantine (depends on when positive test/illness occurs). 2. Put on private plane home OR taken to hotel to quarantine 3. Travel insurance with Covid cover will take care of hotel quarantine costs IF it happens. 4. You are given full FCC for a new cruise in the future once you recover from Covid. Personally, I'll take these chances any day over going to the grocery store or pharmacy in my hometown. None of those places offer a 100% vaccinated rate for people over the age of 12 and mandatory testing before walking in the door.
  4. We sent off for my husband's renewal back in June. We got his new passport about two weeks ago, but we still have not received back his birth certificate that they are supposed to mail back
  5. Yes, exactly. Do the seals work, does the ship leak? Do the Azipods pivot correctly? Does the engine overheat, that sort of thing.
  6. I am so excited for you and your Mum! It is going to be a trip of a lifetime in that Suite! Have lots of fun!
  7. you're welcome
  8. THIS!!! I flew on a two hour flight last month. People take off their masks to drink, to eat, etc. on the plane. But instead of being 6 feet away like on a distanced cruise ship they are right at your SHOULDER maybe 4 inches away.
  9. I've heard peanut butter is a popular, hard to get staple aboard.
  10. @Rob922 Those are the normal daily gratuities. If you want to tip more, or tip someone specifically it is best to bring some cash. Specifically there will be an envelope in your stateroom on the last day to leave extra tips. I always just bring a lot of $5, $10 and $20 bills to use for extra tips.
  11. Part of the reason for that not typically being shared here is that this is a Royal Caribbean FAN page. It is not run by or supported by Royal Caribbean. You are best off mentioning them in your Crew Survey. If you just want to share with other Royal cruisers the people who were great at their job, this is a great place for that. Not sure that any crew will see it though, if that is your goal.
  12. It will be charged to your room each day. When you check in you can opt to put a credit card on your ship account. Helpful info from Royal below What is Royal Caribbean's gratuity price and policy? | Royal Caribbean Cruises
  13. Well they would know by their travel documents if you're talking about a cruise. You still have to have an ID (DL, passport, etc.).
  14. Cool, you might see the Northern Lights! Our June cruise is too early for that.
  15. Bathing suit, sunglasses, sunscreen, pair of sandals and a book!
  16. Which one? We're cruising June 10 on Ovation.
  17. Bummer @AlmondFarmer
  18. I think @BrianB is right. It doesn't look like it includes the proctoring. For Royal Caribbean Cruises it has to be the test that you call in over a conference call and do the test over the video call so they can prove you were the one who took the test.
  19. @twangsterwho are you, who are so wise in the ways of C&A.
  20. This is what I pack for my husband. On vacation Columbia zip-offs are the height of " dress up".
  21. Keep in mind that Radiance is also sailing Alaska in Summer '22.
  22. I second the cloth ones that Target sells. My son has spent several months wearing these #all day# at school. He is very sensitive to itchy/ scratchy stuff and he has been happy with these. Brand is Universal Thread I believe.
  23. I don't understand why this is a hurdle. Testing is fairly easy now that they have allowed the at home proctored test over conf call. Being able to use the rapid test in the U.S. also is a huge benefit. I have tested a number of times for work and for other events and appointments aren't all that hard to get if you put in a small effort.
