What is the strangest thing YOU have seen on a cruise ship?
Linda R replied to Matt's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
A family having dinner at Coastal Kitchen next to our table, that had a baby stroller. The stroller had 2 yippy dogs in it that they fed directly on the table. Plus they ordered food for the dogs at the restaurant. The family was very rude. They told us the dogs were not really service dogs but wanted them with them all the time. She also told us they destroyed their cabin from chewing furniture and blankets to peeing on carpets. Everyone kept away from them. What are people thinking? -
We had 12 once in our group. and table sizes only went up to 10 guests. We got 2 tables of 6, next to each other. Worked out very well. And we would rotate so everyone had a chance to visit with different people. I do not know now with Covid, if they will reduce table sizes at all. But Covid hopefully will not be an issue in 2023, but you never know. You will have a great cruise!

You can get onion rings at Playmakers also

Once you redeem award you have 30 days to apply it to a new cruise. Usually sailing within 1 year. So, I book cruise and then redeem a reward right away. I just did 2 of them this week.

Walk Up Priority vs. Dining Package
Linda R replied to avidtravelgeek's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
I make reservations right away for dining on 1st day. Even if I need to cancel later on or move the reservation. I review the itinerary before hand to see where we might be, in port, etc. And then make reservations according to that as best I can. And main shows are usually based around the 2 main seating times in main dining rm. If there is seating available in a restaurant they will seat you, whether or not you have UDP or not. I think the RC App will make reservations so much easier to book and see availability. -
I am actually thinking on the same lines. The Venice airport is very close to Venice. The ships are now leaving from Ravenna though, which is about 1 1/2+ hours away I think? We always fly into a port the day before a cruise. We are trying to figure out if we want to stay in Venice after cruise or before. Since we do not have an actual port stop in Venice and would miss seeing it altogether. I have been to Venice several times and love it. But it will also depend on which days I can get less expensive airfare. And what days of the week it would be. Our trip is Sept. so we cannot check flights yet. I do have a couple hotels picked out as "maybe's". Will look them up and let you know. I am wanting to stay right in heart of Venice and know they have to be accessed by water taxi.

I am hoping the App will work for dining reservations. Then I can relax someplace and make my reservations. But I do have a list beforehand so I know what I prefer for times, etc. Happy sailing to all!

So what happens after you drop off the tip envelopes?
Linda R replied to smokeybandit's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Plus I tip bartenders and you really can't do that in a box very well. -
I wouldn't really worry about laundry. Even to pay for a few things to be cleaned is not that expensive, especially since you are getting a longer cruise for free. But I have done laundry, by hand, myself a couple times and hung in shower. Not an issue at all to me. And I would bet the cruise line would offer you some free or very inexpensive laundry service.

Next Cruise book onboard? Pros/Cons?
Linda R replied to Pattycruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I usually book my cruise as soon as available. But one cruise I had been waiting to open, happened to open to bookings while on another cruise. I had asked Next Cruise agent to notify me if it became available and she did 2 days later. I got a fantastic deal, but may have been that I booked right away and/or the Next Cruise agent contributed. I even got a $600 OBC. Unfortunately the cruise got cancelled last year. But was great experience and would do it again. I would not hesitate to book onboard again. -
Well, that's a bummer. Thanks for letting me know. All my other next 8 cruises booked are some kind of suite, and all sail before Sept. 31st next year so can get the 4X points.

I looked at my offer and it said I can modify up to 54 hours prior to cruise. So, kinda looks like no upgrades will be done until about 2 days before. We will have left the US by then

I rec'd an email with my Royal-Up offers. We are in Ocean View Balcony at an excellent price booked as soon as was available to reserve. We bid on the Jr Suite and the Grand Suite. Mainly for double loyalty points. All the suite categories were available. No word yet if any of the bids were accepted, but it is too early to tell. Also, I think they closed the bidding offers? Not sure on that. Also, since we are in US the whole trip is still iffy. We have several things to overcome before the cruise.

I was on Radiance about 3 years ago. I am Dia+ and no special dining available. That is an issue with older ships. And one, of many, reasons I like newer ships.
