  1. Am sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Yes, you can travel with cancer. My Mom had pancreatic cancer and I took her on her last trip. While she didn't necessarily feel well part of the cruise, but did love that she was able to go.
  2. I have had this happen on other cruises. We headed to another port that was not in direction we were traveling, to accommodate a sick patient. One time the closest land was 2 days out. It is inconvenient, but I would want the same if it were me that was ill. Insurance will cover any additional costs you might have.
  3. Am liking a smoke free casino, but I also loved the Jazz Club
  4. Yes, cruise planner items will not always stay the same price. They can sell out. Same with cruise prices. Categories can sell out, and change the prices of their other offerings. You just never know. I booked a cruise for 2024 about a month ago, as soon as it became available to book. My price I have is way cheaper than the Black Friday prices. I find booking early, like within a week of offering, is the best rates.
  5. I stayed at Rialto Hotel. Perfect location. Can walk everywhere and water taxi right there.
  6. I have asked for different, or additional, pillows before. Am not fond of the huge king size pillows to sleep with. I have not seen a menu but have just asked. They are happy to get you different pillows, even if you are not in a suite.
  7. Oops. I didn't see the Grand suite in first post. thx
  8. I agree, it is a wall. But the elevator pass thru is right there and easy to access each other.
  9. There are many classes of suites. Which suite class would be helpful as the perks are different
  10. I have done 2 cruises on Anthem out of Southampton, plus a transatlantic on Anthem that ended in Southampton.. On all those cruises we stayed 3-4 days in London, after cruise. I have done May and September on those cruises. We had nice weather for them. While there is a big mix of nationalities on ships out of England we found lots of Brits. And we loved it. And some of the food catered to British, like scones, which were so good. One of the reasons we took cruise out of Southapmton is to go to Normany, France. Wanted to go to the beaches like Omaha, Juno, etc. Visit the military graveyard and museums.
  11. Hope they bring back Columbus the Musical by June. We are bringing the grandkids on a cruise and thought they would enjoy that play. I really liked it myself. As for Cats, I did not enjoy it much the first time I saw it. And I was seated far away. Saw it again close up and really enjoyed seeing their faces and costumes. I now like the play and will be on Oasis in about 2 weeks and will be going. I wish they would bring back doing Broadway musicals. Seems as they leave none are being replaced. Only doing their own shows. Not as fond of some of their own shows, like Effectors. They are ok, but would like a Broadway play also.
  12. I prefer the newer ships. Nicer overall, more shows, restaurants, and things to do. Even though I do not partake in many activities I do enjoy watching them. I was just on Odyssey on transatlantic this spring for 2 weeks, and already booked next spring transatlantic on same ship. We enjoy the Jr suites a lot. Have have Grand suites a few times, but nothing higher in class. The Jr suite aft we had this year was great on Brilliance on Greece trip. We picked Brilliance for our 2 week Greece and Croatia. We had unlimited dining and got bored with limited dining options. We did the main dining room 2 times and were very disappointed. Windjammer was much better. Overall the trip and itinerary was perfect and added a week in Venice prior to cruise. I would do the whole trip over in a heartbeat! Whatever you choose for your cruise will be good. You will have a great time! Enjoy
  13. Thanks for the schedule. They have still not put up all the transatlantic for 2024 yet though. Waiting
  14. yes, just have to keep trying. I will wait til in the morning probably. They are so busy right now
  15. I have been on Odyssey several times and found none of this. I took Odyssey transatlantic last spring and have booked the same for next spring. And I really like the food at all venues on Odyssey.
  16. I called C and A number yesterday and got someone in like 1 minute, no wait time. But I expect with the sale going times are going to get longer.
  17. They are in process in being released. I am waiting for Osis transatlantic to still be released.
  18. 1602, but it was actually a Jr Suite. Excellent cabin
  19. I put mine in my checked bag, no problem.
  20. I was on Brilliance last month. Had an Aft balcony that looked over the wake in the back. Was fabulous. Many ships do not have these balconies. I highly recommend them. But they usually sell out very fast. I booked the trip about a year and a half ago.
  21. I am waiting for the transatlantic cruises for 2024 to be able to book. I think this week. Next spring we are on Odyssey TA and has lots of nice ports.
  22. I have not experienced weak drinks. In fact sometimes they are too strong! haha
  23. Alaska cruises are great. But it is not for everyone. It is not warmer beach weather. There is also usually a lot older crowds on Alaska cruises. I lived in Seattle and the Alaska cruise was not as exciting for me as I went to Canada and the islands in that area many times. So scenery was so similar. But the glaciers were great, especially going 1 way where you can see the larger glacier calving, etc. Enjoy
  24. I do transatlantic cruises every spring, for many years. Weather is mostly good. But I do always book a newer, larger ship. One, they will have solarium for sunbathing even if weather is bad. Lots more selections on dining and entertainment. And overall newer nicer ships in my opinion. When flying 1 way to or from Europe is about the same price as round trip airfare. So, usually that is not a factor to me when doing a TA cruise. Plus I usually use airline points for airfare. Menu is not different. I usually stay in Europe a few days after my TA. Either at the port we disembark or I fly somewhere close I would rather see and stay a few days. This past spring we few to London from Rome for 5 nights after the TA cruise. I have been to Europe a lot, but if you have not I would advise using travel agent. Have a great time!!!
