I sailed Oasis two weeks ago. I would estimate 20% perfect mask compliance, 40% when convenient, 30% in crowded areas only and 10% minimal mask. At the end of the sailing, of all the tests required to be done, zero were positive. I understand this is a sample size of one, but thought I would share that less than perfect mask compliance does not automatically result in positive tests. It was refreshing at times to walk down an empty hallway without a mask on. In crowded areas I always had my mask on.

My wife had 14 Starbucks deliveries on a 7 day cruise two weeks ago. All brought into room and set on table. This made my 3 beer deliveries seem paltry. Although her drinks only came two at a time. My beers carpooled.

Set up a delivery schedule with Genie. Very nice perk.

This worked for me. Masked at most 5% of the cruise. Save the lungs, punish the liver.

I have reached the limit before as well. My workaround was to have others in group link to me. Assist them with this if they aren’t familiar. A call to Royal will also get you an answer.

Many have speculated, probably correctly, that suite reduction was influenced by expected region of deployment (Asia). I haven’t seen average passenger on ship spend number. Potentially revenue was expected to increase by having more people (suites take up more space per passenger) and the spending on ship offsetting loss of suite cost premium. This could all be calculated if one has the years of information Royal has been able to collect and analyze.

I’m excited to try Wonder since it will have a new ice, aqua and theater show. Some on this blog have seen all of these on all other Oasis class ships. Excitement is partially access to something new, which is available to all guests. Plus that new ship smell, also available to all nostril owning guests.

I will be sailing in the Villa on Symphony January 22, 2022. 8 adults, $16K. I booked it on November 20, 2019 the day itinerary was released. Unless future Caribbean sailings are delayed like Europe, I will not get to experience the Villa before having the opportunity to book again. Based on other Star class experiences, I will book Villa on Harmony or Symphony again if total price for 8 is under $20K. Can always downgrade before final payment.

A quick review shows a 20-30% premium for suites over other Oasis class ships. Cheapest date for a two bedroom aqua is $16K. Hopefully these prices aren’t an indication of pricing for upcoming 7 night Caribbean releases.

Wonder has a similar number of Grand suites to Harmony. I like your odds.

Biggest letdown will be the groups who have the four bedroom Villa on Harmony who get demoted to Junior suites. Price protected of course.

Bummer for anybody in a 2 bedroom grand suite.

People will continue to debark early despite this new policy, especially at ports with lots of bars. Weirdly their luggage will still be on the ship.

Options are limited for Harmony. Likely Ft Lauderdale or Miami since Allure is moving to Galveston.

Worst case take an excursion to the hot tub on ship.

I like to deduct the savings of not being home (power, food, etc) This can lower the perceived cost of cruising by 25-30%.

I have a friend sailing on Oasis who asked next cruise agent this morning. He was told Europe will release late this week and 7 night Caribbean may be delayed until next week.

I like your logic. It sounds like you couldn’t afford not to book the additional sailings. Cruise math is interesting.

I have not been on a Quantum class ship but understand they do not have Aqua theaters. Any possibility the North Star is utilized for a high diving performance on pool deck? I would buy a ticket.

Anybody else notice the poor weld performed at waterline at around the 6 minute mark? I will not be on the first sailing because of this….and other reasons like family and work. Waiting till June to insure this error doesn’t affect buoyancy.

Cleaning the inside or outside of the windows in this special area of town? My imagination thinks these tasks may be different.

I vote for inappropriate if you have an intrusive audience. The balcony rail in the photo above looks sturdy.

Unless you are a net winner in casino, (lucky) you indirectly paid, at least in part, for all of your cruises. I know someone who bragged about getting a free night at a hotel in Vegas… after losing $1,300 playing blackjack.
