I feel it’s safe and secure. It’s fenced in, we haven’t had any problems. Park around 1030. No problem with parking or filling up, not sure about later in the day.  Hope this helps!

Hello!  We just booked this cruise as a short getaway for DH and I.  Nice surprise as we weren't planning on a cruise until December(so exciting to see a countdown less than 90 days). Celebrating our birthdays (a bit late but we wanted to do something) and we are only a couple points from Diamond so this short cruise will get us to it.
Nice that you are repeating Navigator. We've been on her once before.  Great ship!
Are you staying at a hotel beforehand ?  Never cruised from this port before so booked based on research.

Even had she booked on her own, teens are not allowed to be in a room by themselves, unless they are connecting, side by side but not connecting, or somewhere else nearby (I think, not absolutely positive about that). You can have the arrangements after boarding however you like, and you can get extra cards that are just room keys to each other's cabins at guest services, as well as make the bed arrangements however you prefer, but at least one person in the room must be 21 or over.

She needs to leave the booking as is because Royal will not allow a teen only booking.  When she is checking in at the port, just let them know how she wants the keys to be given out.  It is not an unusual arrangement and is done all the time.

Unfortunately I go with carry-on your bags onto ship.  I have had more issues with luggage on ships than airports.   Many broken wheels on larger bags.  Twice the bags were left in a cart in the rain.  One of those times my clothes were almost all wet.  And dark colors faded onto light colors.  The cruise ship did offer to clean them all, but some stains did not come out.   And embellishments on a top were damaged in the cleaning.  It can be a hassle to carry your luggage on, but I prefer to have the control.  

Thank you, this helps! I work for an airline, so that means free bags. yay. But this one, is in LA, so we are driving to it.  Check in time is at 1130. So,  I think I am going to have my husband and I share one large checked bag, and each take a backpack for carry on. 
Is it easy to check a bag? Just print out bag tag, and give it to the porter when we get there? 

The follow up then would be what time are you boarding? If you board later when rooms are ready, no real reason to check a bag. If you board early, you might as well check your bag so you won't have to lug it around the ship for a few hours.

Yes and you can ask the porters at the pier to create one on the spot if you want to.  
I have the $6 amazon luggage tag holders that I use over and over again but that isn't a requirement.  

I"m an overpacker and I always choose a suitcase 1 size larger than I probably really need. I'd rather have more room than I think I need than find out I shaved off too many things and am "stuck" on board wishing I had them.
Pros: - more space for: full size bodywash/shampoo for sharing, souvenirs, bulkier clothes 'just in case', or more shoe varities.
Cons: - if you're flying (which I assume for a 3-night you're probably local to a port) you have to check it. if you don't have an airline card or aren't flying southwest this means extra cost (and extra waiting time if you're the type that likes to beeline out of the terminal).
Really..I'm always gonna vote for the bigger one. I just like to have the security of the potential extra space

I would still probably drop off my bag at the terminal, and take a small bag of large purse with the things you’ll need for the afternoon.  
Otherwise, you’ll have to carry you stuff around with you until your room opens. 
If your check-in time is around 2 pm or later, it might make more sense to carry on, since your room should be ready by then. 

A few well placed tips will probably help in this situation.

I’d say your 4 year old probably counts towards the 8.  They have a kids price and the notes section doesn’t mention anything about under a certain age being free.
 

‘I doubt they care how many people hang out at your cabana as long as everybody over the original 8 paid to get into the club.

Thats awesome, I really hope your cruise goes. I am in the process of booking one for November out of CA, but dying for a myvegas cruise when and If I catch it in time . 

I play myvegas games often for the comps. I’ve gotten a cruise before, but of course was cancelled.. sad face..
